Emmylou and the McGarrigle sisters wrote this gorgeous tribute to Sara & AP Carter. It sounds like it's been around for 100 years. Hard to believe it's a new song. Perfection.
Emmy, if you're listening. quit ruining all your songs with your whispering notes. You didn't use to do it so much. You can't get thru one line without giving a whispering note. I hate it.
Can someone please upload the song "She" . . . I think it was on Roses in the Snow . . . or on Luxury Liner . . . it is a perfect song . . . really want to hear it again . . . but I can't find it anywhere!
@kiwialan41 Just been listening to some cash and randomly heard 'Pick the Wildwood Flower ft. Mother Maybelle Carter' so I looked for Sara Carter on wikiP and found a refferance to this song and how beautiful this song is. It make me wonder why we get so much garbage these days.
"There are many singers. But, just a few are chosen, to tear your heart out when they sing." Gibson guitar, long hair, skirt, and boots with unforgetable uniqueness in performance. Pretty good lookin' too.
When I think of the entertainers that are keeping real country music alive it is Emmy Lou then Marty stuart and a host of others ........you will not find there music on the radio but you can find it on youtube if you look!! and you can buy there cd's if you look hard enough...... it can not get anybetter than this
You know, I never really thought Emmylou was very pretty. But there was always something that was so attractive about her that I would have married her in a heartbeat given the chance.
damn country music fans dont know shit about their history. All i had to do was see the title of this song to know it was about maybelle carter. And I'm a dancehall dj. ha ha ha. ya'll need to go to the library instead of watching " behind the music". find out about the carters. ( and i aint talking bout june )
Yeah, but can George Clooney sing? He was miming in "Oh Brother". I suppose I should say that I was only joking about the wife. I like to imagine though !!
These little girls that are in music today, the Brit Spears and the like...they could learn alot about CLASS, GRACE, BEAUTY, STYLE and TALENT from a lady like Emmy Lou. Of course, when Emmy was "coming up", she had so much incredible talent around her. These little girls today have ZERO talent around them. Nobody to mentor them, 20 years from now we'll have forgotten them, but Emmy Lou is timeless.
Does anyone know of the song 'She' - it's off Emmylou's LUXURY LINER album ( and it was an 'album' when I used to listen to it :-) ... I can't seem to find it on UTUBE. - Sharlyn M.
@ItsudemoAibon It;s more slow and sweet like "Sheeeeeeeeeeee never knew what her life was to give her...but she sure could sing..." Maybe it just sounds different on Luxury Liner...which I too had at one time..and will again - thanks! Shar
Emmylou could shit and the sound that it made when it hit the toilet would be better than Taylor Swift. Believe me, in 5 years, miss swift will be an actress, a stripper, or forgotten. Hopefully all three; as it would be great for country music to not have her in it.
@ttr2896 as Gram Parson said after finding her in a interview. she's beautiful and oh how right he was!! emmylou loved him so and I believe he loved her just as much.
@ttr2896 That is so true! Her effortless perfect pitch, strong and clear. Very few have this, but a woman who comes to mind who also has this singing gift (but sings classical music) is named Sissel. look her up on youtube singing "Shenendoah"
She also sang the begining tune to the movie Titanic.
