@biggpiston In those cases the hits caused unconsciousness and other very apparent symptoms and did involved the head being hit. Miller did not lose even his train of thought as he was already swinging his goalie stick at Lucic as he bounced around to his butt. He went on to play just fine, and it was only after Seguin collided with him later (caused by a Sabres defense-man) that he started letting goals in. He also hung around just to name-call Lucic to the press. The lights didn't bother him.

I am ok with some hits, but i really hate to see people get hurt and the fights bother me too. I don't believe that all of this is a "part of the game" because it is not seen at levels like olympic/international, college, high school, and kids leagues. It is there in juniors, minor league and the NHL-probably because the lower of those leagues prepare people for the NHL where it is demanded by some fans who can't get excited about hockey.

@biggpiston In those cases the hits caused unconsciousness and other very apparent symptoms and did involved the head being hit. Miller did not lose even his train of thought as he was already swinging his goalie stick at Lucic as he bounced around to his butt. He went on to play just fine, and it was only after Seguin collided with him later (caused by a Sabres defense-man) that he started letting goals in. He also hung around just to name-call Lucic to the press. The lights didn't bother him.

It seems that the NHL and many of its fans fail to recognize that these are people's lives that they are messing with. I disagree, however, that other teams should stoop to Boston's level. Personally I would like to see fans boycott the NHL in favor of college hockey where this kind of thing is highly scrutinized.

I am ok with some hits, but i really hate to see people get hurt and the fights bother me too. I don't believe that all of this is a "part of the game" because it is not seen at levels like olympic/international, college, high school, and kids leagues. It is there in juniors, minor league and the NHL-probably because the lower of those leagues prepare people for the NHL where it is demanded by some fans who can't get excited about hockey.
