I got one yesterday - and am VERY happy so far: easy to use and ok sound. I fell into the same trick as the guy on the video: was disappointed not to find the batteries until I opened the instructions box, and there they were... two AA batteries.
Hi , I want to record heavy metal concerts with Olympus LS-10. Can you recommend it because I filmed with a camcorder Sony HDR SR10 and the sound was really bad. Thanks already.
The mics on the Olympus should handle it. I use mine to record my loud rock band. But be aware that a lot of metal concerts will pump excess low frequencies to "move air" at loud volumes. But that won't always SOUND good when reproduced at lower volume levels on consumer playback equipment. You'll probably do best to record concerts in an uncompressed format (wave) and then possibly master (EQ) the results, in your computer, to sound good on the playback.
Mine came with batteries?! This gadget is AMAZING! Sure the speakers on the back aren't worth a damn, but listen to it through headphones when you're recording and WOW! The things that even my ears probably wouldn't have picked up were on the recording!
It's also very easy to use...didn't even look at the book!
I can't wait to take it to a concert! It's so small, just slightly larger than cell phone and has a tripod screw in the back.
Nice unboxing, nice gadget man. It looks even smaller than I thought. I'm too considering one of these for some gigs/jams. This definitely gets the best live music on the track.
I'm considering one of these. I want to mix down some music projects. This little gadget could be what I need for mastering a song or doing live music. It has the 24 bit/96Khz WAV and 320kbps MP3 modes, just right for putting up indie albums on distribution sites. Could save me big bucks on equipment. Good luck on the podcast, hope it goes well, I'll check it out!
good thing u mentiond ur cats, or somone might have thought maye ur nose itched from poping pills or somthing,, just a joke, how much did it cost, would it be good for recording instruments?

Just people who mindlessly insult people with no mind, thought or reason. (:

@blkphoto That means that you get a lot of spam or useless comments for your video ;) but obviously it's not the case here

@blkphoto to purposely piss somebody off for no reason by insulting, making up lies and just being an asshole in general lol

I think it would be great since you can adjust the volume input so the audio is not all blow out and distorted.

My other option is the Sony PCM-D50.
See you later and I'm gonna check your site.
