  • All modern boilers are fitted with stats, they dont run on timed heating cycles. They maintain watertemp based on a central home thermostat, not the other way about. The best thing you can do is prevent that residual heat getting expelled. You want to keep that heat in the boiler as long as possible so the boiler can go for longer without firing. So instead of burning for 15mins, then resting 10mins then firing again, it will fire for 15, rest 20 then fire up to come back to temp. Insulate :)

  • Nothing new here,sounds like the high limit/low limit aquastats they`ve been using for years.

  • Can't you achieve the same thing by using an adjustable rheostat?
