there was a noise like a jack popped out of a guitar at the start, with the echo effect on it!! Ive heard this so many times its part of it!! Thats why thom looked back!!!!!

The story goes that the monitors on stage failed, apparently they were problematic all night. When they failed a couple of the last lost their place and that was the source of the confusion. I think despite the mistake it genuinly sounds amazing!

I feel like Colin and Phil came in late right before Ed's big guitar part, and then Jonny forgot to do his part on the keyboard. After that is was trashed. But Colin saved the show!!

this glasto 97 performance was the first version i heard of talk show host. i honestly thought it was not a mistake that ed carried on with his guitar part - it sounds mint! surely one of ed's finest moments?

I think they improvised when ed didn't stop his last guitar part for some reason, but thom as the genius that he is led his band to wing it, that's why it had an interesting ending, and jonny was confused for a sec there.

nevertheless it's still a great performance!

They pulled it out beautifully!
