This is the soundtrack from the mini-series "Lonesome Dove," one of the very best westerns ever made. I remember when it was shown. The state of Texas, especially San Antonio, came to a halt for an hour once a week to watch back in 1989.

as i am not mistaken it is from an old movie with jhon wayne, the sons of katie elder, but iam not shure

Altough I'm not postive what this is, I know it's not The Sons Of Katie Elder. I have that movie, have watched it at least 150 times and this music is defiantely not on it. I believe DB2691 is correct that this is from the soundtrack to Lonesome Dove.
