  • @picayunesnare10 Yes, Troy, Alabama

  • @picayunesnare10 Troy University in Troy, AL.

  • Wow. Just that band is worth the price of admission.

  • @Rakshasa Thanks!

  • So this is half time huh?

  • i will be in this band in the future

  • the best band i have ever heard

  • @347826able naw dat would ruin dem. dey good where dey at

  • i dont think it would ruin them swac needs another band that can blow and groove like that it'll give the swac bands some competition

  • i've actually seen this show 3 times live.

( at the troy marching festival and they performed it twice at FBA at Tate high school)

and their 2007 show, only seen twice ;3

and ofcourse this year, i've seen once.

soo edit o.o I've seen them six times, not four.

    sorry o__o

  • if theyre absolutely extremely loud on my computer i just wonder how they are in person....im scared

  • @3knurcbct omgg, loud is an understatement when it comes to their live performance.

I've seen them live four times and it seems louder each time i hear them.

it's amazing! it's like you can't hear anything else when they're performing.

    I love it ;3

  • That's a fun arrangement of God Bless the Child...still holds it own 10 years later.

  • Man i really love this SHOW, im a GA REDCOAT FAN!!! but i got to say this was a GREAT PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!!

  • I miss hearing The Sound of the South during my undergraduate days... GO TROJANS!

  • i don't get what you are trying to say here?

  • The bass section is already adequate.

The Electric bass is there simply to add a lower bit of contrast to make the entire band have a longer register and in turn make them sound not only fuller but louder.

  • really now is it? because last i checked it was just adding a lower octave not compensating for anything. it is giving a true fundamental.

  • Have you heard them though? They are loud as hell seriously. It isn't compensation but addition lol

  • Wow...they came to tate high school for our marching competition and wow they were amazing!

  • yes i remember that performance it was awesome.

  • i love them so much! we have tow of our last year senors at Troy!!! A trumpet " what i play" Who was my section leader!!! And the low brass section lead! who played a baritone. Jesse Brewer!! we love you Jesse "TCHS"

  • I'm ashamed to say this but...as a pretty big southerners fan, this was a pretty good show. The music was certainly exciting which usually makes the band want to do better than when the music is boring. Good job Troy but....Southerners ftw! Whup Troy! lol

  • All I've got to say is

    1. Sousaphones

    2. Electric Bass

    Shame on you Troy!

  • I've been on that field, and our drum major from last year is in the sound of the south!

  • I'm goin to Troy for college i'm from the pride of the south marching band we have like 15 people that graduated from our school in the band atm.....

  • I was at competition there,I play for the CHS Band. Since I saw The Sound Of the South for the first time Ive wanted to go to school there...anyways this Marching Band is AWESOME!!

  • Do you mean the Cairo High School Band?

Because I'm in the Bainbridge Band.

  • ME too!! lol

  • I just got accepted to Troy yesterday! im so excited. i start in the summer

  • Go Trojans! :)

  • Nice Trombone solo near end of show!

  • amazing...

  • Oh my god this kinda thing makes me miss the SOTS so much... I just had to go off and join the Army...lol. I got to take the field with them at this game as a member of the color guard (the Army guys with the American flag...not the flag spinners...)

  • yep we performed at the Dothan festival, then hopped on the bus and went right to Pensacola. I'm not trying to make excuses but we were tired. thanks for the compliment though =)

  • great thing this wasn't a competition it was a game performance. and nobody really cares about your competition score. much love peace

  • I saw the SOTS at FBA in Pensacola and I had mixed feelings. I like the style of the show and enjoyed it overall. The playing was much cleaner than past SOTS but the marching and auxiliaries had issues. I know it's hard for a band that size, but I like things a bit tighter in certain respects.

  • well what side were you on.... we did 30 mins of show... if you were on the back side then probably by a lot of the band was exhausted, I know I was.

  • I was on the home side, but I realize y'all already had a performance that day.

  • we actually practiced before we even went to dothan sooo yea we were playing all day long.....

  • I'm going to be in their color guard! It's my dream college I really hope I make it in :)

  • amazing show this year.

  • Just went to the Troy game on the 18th and

the band was awsome! They are really something to see! Go Trojans.!

  • I just saw them play live at FBA. Its Awsome.

  • i have to agree with the dude below, there even more awesome live, they play so loud you can feel their wind in the stadium.
