  • LMAO can the body actually absorb that much calories??

  • Oh hello! Have you tried - fast abs magic (search on google)? Ive heard some great things about it and my m8 got hot Six pack abs and lost lots of belly fat with it.

  • Yes diet is very very important, but I don't really understand what this video is trying to prove. That cardio is useless? that pizza is full of calories that would take longer to burn than to eat?

  • I 'm not well informed about some others but I can tell you that my loved ones attained excellent achievement with DietOramy bodyweight reduction plan program (google it, there are a lot data with regards to it) - we all use it and our doctors are astonished with the outcomes that came so instantly.

  • With great respect, I would like to clarify a point is very important, which you do not compare eating pizza at a particular time, as it did now, scientifically, eating one who eats is not all fat, because it contains the proteins and minerals,,,, etc., the requirements of the body as energy, but the proportion of fat rate of up to forty percent, and frankly this stupid way of an example.

  • this is stupid. Obviously you can consume more calories in a shorter amount of time. But imagine how many calories you burn if you spend 2 hours a day training. If you think I'm wrong, take a look at one of the most physically fit people on the planet with one of the worst diets...MICHAEL PHELPS!

  • @s8nsfreak

Two hours a day of intense training is hardly a realistic goal for most folks.

Michael Phelps is not a good example since since he is a genetic freak/world class elite athlete who trains at a ridiculously high level of intensity.

I agree there is a place for all types of training (I am a trainer myself) but the point Craig makes is valid!

Go to most gyms and you will see the same folks year after year on the treadmill making very little progress if they eat poorly!

  • Thanks for the video and pointers

  • WHAT A FUCKING STUPID VIDEO FUCK YOU

  • This is a great video! It is true that you can't out-train a lousy diet. However, cardio is certainly NOT a joke. I do it every day when I'm trying to lose fat and I'm extremely lean. High intensity cardio whether it be interval training or steady state, will go along way towards enabling you to get lean in record time. This in conjunction with a calorie restricted diet and three full-body strength training sessions a week will melt the pounds and inches.

  • Awesome, I never though about using that kind of diminstation to get the point across to my clients : ) Love it!!

  • @shookyfet87 Yup the site is WeightLossAction.info. My friend recommend it to me, after 2 weeks of following the courses I lose weight.

  • This actually does makes sense. The main point their trying to make is to at least eat less, or eat better. But that guy just burned himself out and only lost like 40 calories.

  • this stupid , it cant be calculated like this !

  • @katzo22332233 I would have to respectifully disagree with you, it isn't stupid at all!

Regardless of the exact calculation the point is well made. You can ALWAYS out-eat the amount that you burn with cardio training. Even with metabolic resistance training where you have a much longer after-burn effect, you still can't out train a bad diet. I have to stress this to my clients all the time because often folks feel that if they train hard they can get away with eating whatever they want!

  • Diet is also so much pain for me! This video is helpful! Diet + workout, soon you can get muscular and leaner like the Hollywood actors. I've been working out lately through a program I found in a site. You can view my profile to check the website. I can't post it here in Youtube.

  • Love it! People, what they are trying to say is that it is a heck of a lot easier to skip the pizza or other high-cal foods than to try to burn it off with cardio.

  • that food is energy rich.

  • Hello! Have you considered intellectus 424 diet (search on google)? Ive heard some great things about it and my sister lost a lot of weight with it.

  • Oh hai! Have you ever tried intellectus 424 diet (just google it)? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my father lost a ton of weight with it.

  • diet alone wont get rid of the body fat.30+ min a day cardio with proper nutrition will.

  • excercise is the best way to get Best Cardio Workout to Burn Belly Fat

  • i guess i will need this video for my exercise program

  • Nice

  • nice video

  • Point is you can workout, but if you think you can eat crap as areward you are prob. taking in more than you burned off. Cardio is great for the heart. Video isn't discouraging exercise, but encouraging exercising w/ a good diet.

  • i didn't understand any of this vid i learn nothing i fell the only thing they wanted to show is that he can run fast!!

  • This is the dumbest video I have ever seen. If you're trying to turn people off from working out... Congratulations you did!! Can you get improvements in cardiorespiratory health with diet the same way you can with cardio....NO. Cardio is not always about weight loss. It has other benefits.

  • thumbs up if you like DIET vs EXERCISE Episode 1: Fat Loss Diet versus Best Cardio Workout to Burn Belly Fat

  • the really reason for people to work out everyday is not to lose the meal they eat but to make your metabolism works better.but sure eating pizza and sodas wont make someone t lose weight.exept of course once a week.if u keep your diet every day u can plan one day a week to eat anything u like.chocolates, sodas enything.but only a day in the week.also diet wont work great without exercises and exercises wont do great without diet.if u want to have a great body u should compine exercise with diet

  • I want some pizza now = )

  • Thanks...

  • 11 people will never loose fat

  • PIZZA WIN!

  • Some people can get away with just working out -- I can't; although it did work for me when I was younger. I've lost almost thirty pound and all it took was giving up sugar, dairy and anything with white flour.

  • I lost 60 lbs. by counting calories alone... I didn't start running and training until I did. It took me about a year, but it came off.

  • only pussies run for 30 minutes. man the fuck up and run for 3 hours a day, at least.

  • Thumbs up if you searched "how to get a free can of coke" xD

  • great vid. i lost heaps of weight through diet! eliminated food i'm allergic too. checkout foodintol they helped me

  • so fast food is bad when your trying to lose weigh? I am really shocked by this. Good thing someone made a vid to explain it

  • perfect work out -- > w ww.youtube.com/watch?v=liPcQb7m3ho

  • Awesome video. Kkeep up the good work...awesome!

  • This is not a fair experiment how can you assume or think possibly of the amount of calories in each slice of pizza without measuring it as a proven average ?

Also as many trainers have said, eat healthily, exercise correctly and regularly, don't cheat yourself then you will see results.

  • Cool video guys! Check out Empower Your Body new Spring workout tips!

  • Thanks - this was really useful. I enjoyed the video - now to put it into practice is a different thing altogether

  • A seven mile run (approximately, depending on your weight) would burn off 800 calories.

  • Always good to see some new information on an important topic.

  • Yup , meal frequency doesnt increase our BMR but HIIT and weight training does. With the intensity that guy did in the video for most people , they would increase their metabolic rate throughout the day and might end up burning more calories. Weight training too , the more muscle you have , the more calories you burn.

  • Okay , i understand that you made the point. But you have missed out the most important thing in fat loss, which is metabolism. Metabolic rate will overshadow diet and calories that you burn during exercises.

  • @ipman123 not true, BMR doesn't change alot even if you are feeding your body every three hours. check out brad pilon's research. you will just keep your insulin levels high all day

  • whats the point of this?! :S

  • UNLESS YOUR MICHAEL PHELPS.

  • the best way to raise your heart rate and work your cardio is to run with both of your hands straight up in the air and say EHHHHHHH!!!!! while you're doing it. I'm not being sacrastic or trying to make a joke, I'm actually serious, I did this to train for my cardio for the marathon, IT WORKS. but you have to say EHHHHH loud not just ehhhhhhh but EHHHHHHH, for like two minutes and you will see your heart pumping like freaking crazy

  • very good..you cant eat anything and then try to work it off.I know that you have to run for half an hour to burn up a mince pie and i could eat a box full in five minutes

  • Craig, would you be my Ballantyne?

  • good info. just what i needed

  • This must be a video for dumb gym rats ... 1st ..any body that knows anything about fitness knows you can consume calories faster than you can burn them .. 2nd the fact that you think cardio is a joke shows that you know nothing about fitness ... if you would have lifted weights for the same amount of time you would have burned even less calories

  • I find the hardest thing for me when dieting is getting enough nutrition. Smaller portions work, but I’m left hungry and less food= less nutrition. I use nutritional supplements now and eat healthy, full meals.I got started at ryansnutrition com and have my appetite under control.

  • this has got to be the most stupid fucking video ive ever seen... u really think that one run will actually get rid of one pizza?!?! no shit sherlock... u have to look at excersize just as much as you need to look at diet... dont think that by just having an amazing diet ure gonna be able to be fit and have a great body, stupid shitheads -.- excersize, eat well, and u'll be on ure way...

  • lol this is really funny...

  • I'm sorry, but did people really need a video to explain that you can take in calories in a faster time then you can burnthem? Really? Do you think that pizza would just evaporate if you ran for 5 minutes? As well calling cardio a joke really just hurts your credibility. I can't take these guys seriously.

  • It's one thing to inform people that you cannot just put whatever into your body and expect to burn it off with cardio, but to berate cardio all together for the false pretenses that most people have about cardio is just as damaging as the former.

  • It's a very provocative as well as misinformed position to state that "cardio is a joke"... As professional I'd hope you'd understand that the true benefits of cardiovascular aren't simply for burning calories. Cardiovascular exercise benefits exactly what the name suggests-- your heart. I can not tell you how many, particularly men, fall for the assumption that cardio yields no benefits and they appear healthy yet have very poor cardio health which is disastrous in the long run...

  • @andycford23 haha get it?...long run.

  • From now on every time I get a craving for take-out / junk foods I will watch this video as a deterrent. i have 100+ lbs to lose!!

  • @VR25MRLW Good luck man! I'm working hard to get my body fat % down to 11% from 22% by June 1st!

  • This video does an excellent job underscoring the importance of nutrition. Fat loss is roughly 90% nutrition and 10% working out.

It doesn't matter how many miles you run, or weight you lift, if you can't control your caloric intake you will NOT lose fat. Period. Great job as always Craig!

  • What about Shake Weight and Eating 1 Bean ? Who Wins ?

  • but then there was also recess...

  • yea but I had a horrible diet when I was around 18 and stuff and I excersised it off.. so I don't know why they said.. well you know what I have the secret is to... stand on one leg.. it will burn calories to burn the pizza off.. stand on one leg and hop 200 times on both legs.. I kicked the air on one leg 200 times.. and I had a horrible diet and wasn't fat..

  • All that is REQUIRED for fat loss is a calorie deficit, period. You do NOT have to exercise to lose fat. However, it does expedite the process and allows you more 'wiggle room," than going at it with diet alone.

Exercise preserves muscle, speeds up your metabolism (depending on the intensity), suppresses your appetite and optimizes your health. All of these things enable you to become leaner, fitter and healthier.

  • Comment removed

  • If anyone wants to look good, being healthy will pretty much make that happen. Eat well, get informed. "Diet" does not mean you have to starve, this word only means what type of nutrition you choose, so select a good one, rich in vegetables, fruits and grains. If you want to look "fit" then exercise is the best tool, but exercise alone WON'T MAKE YOU HEALTHY if you're swallowing fat like a maniac.

  • ya diet is key and cardio just helps you speed things up...cardio by itself wont do much but i found this great HIIT fat loss routine on thefatburningguide . com

  • There is no denying that you need to exercise to lose weight! but everyone needs that little push at the start to continue your journey. this product does that very easily!! it did for me! i lost 50 pds in 3 months now i can start exercising with less pain in the knees and 50 pds less!!! check my video and email for more info!!!

  • I lost about 100 lbs in a year once by changing my eating habits alone. I was not exercising during that period.

  • I think if You are REALLY want to lose weight, you should look at my website at sexy-and-fit(com)

This is not an advert website with lot of fake things, it contains interesting articles how to lose weight, diet programs, thing that make you fat but nobody told it, and other interesting articles that will help you to achieve your goal and get rid of unnecessarily fat.

If you are interested, take a minute and look it up,it's entertaining, useful and of course free.

    Yours faithfully:sexy-and-fit(com)

  • good point.

  • true if you ate 24 hours a day and exercised 24 hours a day you would be unbelievably fat, but, as Euphorica said you are not eating the whole day infact, if you ate your half a pizza (about 800 calories) then exercised for 1 hour at the tempo shown (some people can keep that intensity for an hour, not many but some) you would burn 860 calories! Michael Phelps certainly proves this as he has a 12,000 calorie diet!

  • @tommytherunner I think you both missed the boat on reading and comprehension... The point which was made pretty clear is that you can not 'out exercise' a bad diet. eg. you can work out for 10 hours a day but if you spend 1 hour after that eating pizza you won't have any caloric deficit. That you closed your argument using a world class athletes training diet (which is closer to ~8-10k anywhere but fox news, look it up) Try extrapolating the data you were given here and take a hard look at it.

  • Can you go down just by eating less, and eat vegetables 5 times a week?

  • true to a pt....but you arnet going to be eating pizza for 1-2 hrs. youll be done in 6 mins..and not eat for hours. meanwhile any decent cardio program has you doing it 1-2hrs long....

so I get what you are trying to say ..its not even close to be remotely like that.

  • @Euphorica but that's 800 calories for ONE MEAL for ONE DAY. you are supposed to do 30 min of physical activity a day. in only 30 minutes you cannot burn off whatever pizza you are trying to work off. diet has a much bigger effect on your weight that exercise.

  • Love the video guys!

Very good point. too many people hit the treadmill and then reward themselves, or work an extra half hour ( at half the intensity you were at Craig) and expect that will make the difference.

This is a fun way to prove a point.

    Talk soon,

    Ryan "The Fat Loss Informant"

  • this is retarded...name any physical activity that burns 800 cal in 3 min...might as well starve ourselves...is that the message here?

  • @jskrabac The message here is you CANNOT outtrain a lousy diet, period. Which is true. Technically, you could run a marathon ( 26.2 miles) and if you went home and scarfed down a bunch of pizza, you may end the day in a calorie surplus. This means you will have gained weight. How is this possible?

There are 24 hours in a day. Fat loss (or gain) occurs through out that time period. If you end the day burning more calories than you consume, you will lose fat and vice-versa.

  • @jskrabac The message here is that diet is key to fat loss! You can't not limit your calories and think that if you just do cardio that it wont matter what you eat. He's trying to show that in just 3 minutes of cardio at 11mph burnt JUST 43 calories. That means he'd have to run at 11mph for ~56 minutes just to burn that pizza off. That's insane! Like he said, most people don't even work at that intensity. That was only ONE meal! Most people eat around those calories or more for other meals!

  • @jskrabac That is precisely the point.

  • hmm.. I dont think its all that accurate, because losing fat is nothing more than calories consumed vs. calories burned. And a calorie is still just that, a calorie whether its from pizza or broccoli (surely broccoli is healthier). Another thing to remember is that muscle burns more calories than fat does, so get yourself some muscles and do your cardio on an empty stomach.. But you need to do your cardio.

  • @gunice well you obviously have a very ignorant way at looking at things. White flour or refined sugars quickly get absorbed as fat and slow you down not to mention suck a lot of nutrients from your body. Which is what that pizza is made with. The quality of food matters more than the quantity. Sure you could get your daily calories from junk but that's how you'd be feeling. And he's making a poin that interval training far surpasses regular cardio for fat loss.

  • @RaginRussian To be more accurate, its a good thing to get simple carbs like sugar right before your workout, or even better, right after. Secondly, his whole slogan is say no to cardio, but he is still working out in a cardio-like fashion, so its still cardio... Interval cardio is a great tool to lose bodyfat, but there is no way u can do an really intense 100% all out interval training first thing in the morning, slow and steady cardio however is perfect. Its a matter of preference..

  • @RaginRussian Too much of anything can get stored as fat. Too much "healthy" fare can get stored as fat.

"Quality of food matters more than quantity" It depends on the context.. From a health perspective, you are right. But if fat loss is your goal, then quantity trumps quality. Ideally, you will have the best of both worlds. If people consume whole foods, in smaller portions at regular intervals, they will optimize their weight, performance and health.

  • Poor Brad sacrificing that way for the sake of fitness science xD

  • This is very FUNNY... PLease dont try this at HOME... or at a GYM..

  • Great video man. You keep inspiring me to be more creative myself. Great job to all of you guys in the video. Almighty willing, I will get to meet you guys in person one day instead of cyber visiting.

    Amur El

    Peace

  • good stuff. my weakness is sodas and fast food. i lost a ton of weight by almost eliminating them entirely from my diet. it's ok to cheat from time to time, but even one can of soda a day can add up.

  • thanks so much for this video

  • yes but you also have to point out that exercise helps out your metabolism.

  • Gotta love Brad Pilon. He's the man.

  • EATING LESS IS THE KEY TO STARVING YOUR BODY DONT EAT LESS, instead of consuming foods that are harmful eat foods that are healthier, dont eat less eat healthy, plus jogging is one of the worst if not the worst cardio vascular exercise out there. boxing swimming and plyometric activities is the key to burning fat. Cardio burns calories way after you are done performing.

  • @deadmau5ARGURU only using interval training burns calories way after you are done with cardio. And even though you are eating healthy you still need to eat less. Eating over your BMR even though it's 'healthy' is still not going to get you weight loss results

  • Great idea for a video.

  • The body doesn't burn calories it DIGEST them. Its 2010, people still believe the calories in minus calories out bullshit?!?! LOL

  • great video, easy for a layman like me to understand, thanks!

  • That is such a great video. Can't argue with it.

  • HI! ok so i only eat things like pizza occasionally... but what i want to know is if you have 1 pizza to breakfast lunch and dinner...your mostly muscle active burning off brain energy left right and center ...you should be able to burn that within the day right? im gaining alot of weight but its mostly muscle it seems to take alot of calories to keep up my energy sometimes...even so a whole day burning calories to one pizza should be ok or should i expect a fat blob somewhere after?

  • Is Craig from Kenya?

  • These guys are fucking retarded who just sits there and gavones 4 slices and a soda? ofcourse u cant burn that off in 2 minutes

  • Wow...thank you....never though about it that way. Awesome.

  • damn craig can run!!! XD

  • what's the quickest way to lose your belly..intervals?circuits?

  • @sweetkisses4uonly

    there is no quick way.

but I'd suggest switching it up to stay interested.

I like to do tread for 9.5 for 10 minutes then intervals of 12.0 for 1:00-1:30 a set then job it out for the remainder maybe 10 mins or less...

then run ymca track on ground so that my legs don't forget what its like to touch a floor

  • @sweetkisses4uonly eat less is the best way to lose fat

  • Great idea, makes the point.

  • I'm 5' 10" male, weight 135lbs and have percentage body fat 10.8 and I can't seem to lose any more fat from my belly. now my friends advice me not to lose any more weight, WHY can I not have a flat gut even at this low weight????

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

  • @muzammilali007

    holy hell 5'10 @ 135 @_@

I'm 5'2 at 125-130 .. when I'm at 120-125 my stomach looks amazing.... so I dono maybe you just got poopy genetic pick to store all your fat in your stomach????

I'm not a doctor though, but I store fat at my stomach first.

or maybe its not fat that you have...

It could just be water weight, gas, food, and try taking a poop.

  • What I do is put spikes at the end of my treadmill, put the treadmill on highest speed, and run for my life (literally)

  • these guys are fucking retarded. they don't know shit their talking about.

  • well this video stated the bloody obvious didnt it

  • People who watch these videos should realize that the creators of these videos aren't saying that you need to burn off more than the total amount of calories you eat in a day.

The average person NEEDS to eat around 2000 a day for their body to function fully in a low-active state. The body will burn that off naturally.

In fact... you would eventually Die if you took in zero calories or worked out so much that your net calories were near or less than zero constantly.

  • @EmbraceTheThunder Cont...

Your best target is to have a net calorie intake at the end of the day of around 65% to 75% of your BMR (google BMR calculator.)

You can do this by either dieting or working out.

While both will be beneficial, working out will increase the amount of fat burned in ratio to muscle through your weight loss compared to dieting alone. (That's right, you can lose both fat and muscle when you lose weight.)

You should consult a doctor before undergoing any major weight lost.

  • I Lost 50 Pounds Of Belly Fat Watch My Videos :)

  • These guys clearly know nothing about cardio, just look at their body types. Take it from a marathon runner, I eat more than any of these guys and I'm 140 lbs. Take a look at M. Phelps. The problem is this guy ran for like 3 mins, noobs. If you want to be truly in shape, the kind where your healthy inside instead of just looking good outside, exercize and eat plenty or die young and thin. There are no short cuts america.

  • @cwackabawol Actually, it's been scientifically proven that cardio is a very ineffective way to burn fat. Interval training is where it's at and that's they way ALL athletes train. You run, you walk, you run, you jump etc. Also, no athlete just eats junk. You need to have a good source of protein, fiber, healthy fats and unprocessed carbs. Besides, professional athletes and especially marathon runners train for hours on end. No one has that kind of time...

  • puts it in perspective for sure :)

  • Mmm... Pizza

  • Is cardio better for fat burning? I hear excersise has a much smaller impact on fat burning compared to diet (True or False?)

And I've been looking at diets and all I know is to keep my caloric intake around 2150 calories (215x10) and get 215 grams of protein a day which seems impossible.. what about fat grams doesn't fat also aid in burning fat itself??? So confused!

  • nevermind.... wrong video to comment on lol, this video explained everything.

  • Interesting stuff!

  • Thats true.

  • great vidio

  • Interesting that the "avoid long boring cardio" guy chose cardio to illustrate this point.

  • Diet is around a million times better and more efficient for muscle building, fat burn and weight loss in general than exercise if I remember correctly. You can be up to 500 pounds and have a bodyfat percentage of 89%, and if you consume under 500 calories a day whilst getting enough nutrition to survive, in about 3 years, you will be ripped with minimal exercise.Although consuming so little calories at random with a super-large stomach and a taste for sweets is impossible unless you're psychotic

  • Wtf? Under 500 calories? That's borderline anorexic.

  • that guy is retarded.the way it works is if you have a 500 calorie deficit in your diet.

  • @ll0II0ll plenty studies show/prove this is totally wrong. Calorie deficiency leads the body to slower metabolism and promotes storage of calories. The treshold is around 300 calories below your daily requirement. 89%bf is impossible - they'd be dead way before.

  • this is hilarious

  • I eat whatever I want whenever I want six times a day, Pizza, Chicken, Tuna, Steak ect.

yet I pretty much always maintain my body weight no matter what~!

I weight train 3 ~ 4 times a week and run 4 times a week, if you calculated the calories I eat vs burnt I should be a fat ass, but like others have said your body will burn alot of calories just by being even slightly active. Also it helps that every time I eat I think protein first If possible I avoid meals that are overly carby.

  • haha. this is awesome.

  • Awesome video you have !!! Keep up the nice work: By the waY visit my videos okie !!!

  • our body continues to burn fat for hours and hours after cardio - sure you burn 200 calories in a good cardio session but throughout the day you'll continue to burn hundreds more and not feel the need to eat as much. The point they are showing is how important it is to eat right.

  • they say you will only burn 12-15 calories for the rest of the day after a 400 cal workout... More for weight training, like 50 in total.

  • @EVILTRIPS666 thats quite a discrepency -I'll have to look it up. We burn hundreds of calories a day just being moderately busy - and not even working out. The point is that cardio activity increases the body's metabolism and thus burns more calories more efficiently throughout the day.

  • @jonpaulevans cardio increases the body`s metabolism? im pretty sure thats wrong. Weight training increases the body`s metabolism throughout the day as the body repairs the ripped muscle fibers, Cardio stops working for you the moment you get off the treadmill pretty much. Anyway, HIIT is the way to go when it comes to combining weight training with cardio. Cheers!

  • @aldoivan16 it was once thought that only weight training had a lasting increase on increasing met but cardio is shown to as well - however not as much. essentially it is the lean mass (muscle ) that increases a persons metabolism of fat and calories but cardio can to through thermogenics and increased heart rate. Paraphrasing of course but it's worth reading some of the studies out there - but who is to say what's dead-on. But good counterpoint. HIIT is essentially jusr combining the two...
