  • I liked the video, liked the integration of the old skool, new skool Brothers and the history of the fraternity. Keep Achieving! Mel G. #11 Spr. 91

  • Kappa Alpha Psi is a non-hazing non-pledging Fraternity

  • lol looks like alot of this footage is from vcu

  • When are you going to stop beating the shit out men to Join your organization? I Bet no one would comment on this?

  • @FreshPrince071 Omega Psi Phi Inc. XB Chapter 85... I must say you have not graduated because you have grammar issues. I have 20+ years in the frat how many do you have. Online two “damn” semester’s maid 3:11am Nov 03, 1985 #4 Bro Nice Nasty Line “No Doubts” in the morning

  • @collinsmichael0355 First of all how do you knw they beat the sht out of people when u call yourself an omega man? Awww oK. You musta dropped line and went to Q.

  • @FreshPrince071Well if you can read no I did it drop line however, you have two deaths by you young ass punks... And Que I pledge Que fool so please save yourself the imbursement. You young miscreants are try to kill these Brothers don’t know how to pledge people.

  • @collinsmichael0355 Sure right

  • @collinsmichael0355 Hey don't u ques wear army fatigues because your founders were in the military so whats wrong with the kappas having their canes..this can be said about you all too I bet it's some out there that would say it is disrespectful to our military who is at war fighting for our freedom...just saying the argument can go both ways..

  • @manansis86 Well being that I'm in the military yes it is disrespeciful to many of us that are serving. But Omega Psi Phi founded ROTC which was SATC many of my Bruhz don't know that ether so I can agree with you on some levels. I was trying to say that many of us as a people do things that don't know the meaning.

  • @collinsmichael0355 1st off its spelled embarassment and my main point we're probabaly on 2 total diff sides of the country so how do u knw how we pldge. UMMM yea ok stop using 1 story or a couple mistakes and judging my whole org . Secondly Omega Psi Phi has [lenty of death by you alls so called process

  • Nice piece bruh, I see my boy DC Lenny (A Phi Chapter-80's) "representing" ! Those cats MADE my line on numerous road trips and we returned the favor with several Petersburg "runs" after crossing. Much love to the "Beast of the East" (Lenny, Tracy, Beattle, et al). NUPE NUPE !!!

  • A great lesson for all

  • what an amazing brother hood you guys have

  • Future Kappa right here

  • Great job on this!

Good job brothers with knowledge of information!

  • when did the cane come to play? who started using the cane first? and stepping also for that matter

  • @hiphopson the cane started out as a tool for the elderly to get around, who are commonly associated with wisdom and respect. Around the 1800s, the cane itself became a symbol of respect. when kappa started out, they decided to incorporate the cane as a symbol of respect, one would "wear" a cane. eventually they were used during step shows, and then were shortened to make performing easier.

  • @Magsteez Tell me this do you think the Kappa's in the present should be walking with a cain? You said a man of wisdom and respect use the cain to get around and it's a symbol of respect so, how is it that a young man has wisdom at such a young age caring a cain. It's imposible to gain wisdaom at such a young age. You people are truly misusing the symboles of what being in a Frate is.

  • @collinsmichael0355 well at this point it's all a matter of symbolism. obviously college is a place where many hope to gain wisdom, but a lot also go just to hopefully get a good job. wisdom doesn't come with attendance, so no, in the sense of a cane as a symbol of wisdom, i don't think any frat brothers should wear them. but in the sense of a cane as a tool for performing? yea why not, it seems to be all they use them for any way.

  • @Magsteez You gain wisdom by living not by going to college and getting a degree. Wisdom is something that takes time by life experience not by using a cairn however, symbolism are things you have to defend. Some young people join these organization because people tell them they ant shit so they need to wear something on their Jacket to justify self. You can make a piece of shit look good it’s how value it so we have to be careful what we use as symbols

  • @hiphopson Stepping is a traditional form of dance derived from the African gumboot dance used by African miners as a form of communication. They also stepped to tell stories and show emotions...

The cane came into play as a alternative for the staff, first used by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated...

Sigmas say they used the cane first but in my opinion, Kappas used it first; a cane and a staff are two different object...

  • y is living greek is evil

  • ICE COLD!!!!!! 19000000006666666!!!!!All Day!

  • Kwel Beans.

  • Cool beans, very informative! PS you also took Part in founding NPHC, don't forget the other 4 orgs inolved

  • did she say "they need steel canes" think about that...lol

  • yo baby yo.....

  • does anyone know the name of this song

  • It's no secret that Bob Johnson "the founder of Bullshit Entertainment television" is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi. BET has done more harm to the black community than Gangsta Rap could have ever done.

  • I'm be one when I go to college

  • I think they should have written a script and got it approved by a grad chapter cause some thing they say are just not true..

  • yeah that makes sense

  • Kappas are always fine. I guess it's something that happens to ones looks when they pledge Kappa.

  • gotta lovee kappas =]

  • Milton Wallace

    Kappa Alpha Psi 4 Life!

    YO! YO! NUPES!

  • I will just say this: All of the orgs are phenomenal and everyone joins for different "initial" reasons. As long as in the process they learn what it really means then you have done your jobs. You guys have aparently been doing something right because you are still here and still doing good in the community. After all people usually get saved because they want to avoid hell but later learn to love God for who he is. "The steps and canes may draw us but your essence will keep us anchored."

  • The young man saying he wanted to be a Kappa because he saw his father pledging, hanging out with his bruhs, and road tripping. (that statement alone is why they shouldn't have LEGACY in greek organizations) Am I the only one who is listening to what these young men are saying? What happened to achievement? I'm not judging KAY, believe me, its all 9 of the NPHC whose members have lost sight of the purpose of their organizations

  • I feel you, these bruhs shoulda chose their wording a little more carefully before shooting this video. I disagree with a few parts of this video. Mainly the part where the one bruh says "what separates us from other fraternities, sororities are basically we use kanes". I'm not even gonna get on my frat about his grammar. But, if the only thing that separates my frat from everyone else is a kane then i need to refresh my own history again! I love the bond, but we could've done better

  • There are consequences of sending the wrong message about your organization. I scroll down and read previous posts, noticing young men (some who aren't even in college) saying they want to join so they can twirl a kane? Or because it's about getting the ladies and lookin pretty, etc? With this mind set, how r we as greeks supposed to help the community, when it sounds like our own members need enlightenment?

  • 1) people who make comments about how they wanna join to get women or to twirl a kane don't know what being greek is all about. They know what they see(i.e. youtube, movies, greeks on the yard) With that said, it's our job to educate them

    2) Every greek organization is going to have characters who joined for the wrong reasons. There is no way to stop that. I wish there was a way but it's just not possible.

  • I think it's awesome to make a video about your chapter! But, gettin the ladies, being smart, and knowing how to step is how to represent kappa alpha psi.... am I the only one really listening to this documentary?

  • Typical Kappa answer. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. represents scholarship, manly deeds, and love for all mankind. This is what Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity stands on. Our history speaks for itself. Kappas being the elite is a joke. How about Kappas start with graduating from college and not put emphasis on groupie women.

  • How about being supportive of greek of unity. Instead of trying to be superior.

  • I'm about Christian unity. I look to God as my superior, not man made organizations. All I did was call out the contradictions in their video. It seems to me "based on this video" Kappa Alpha Psi is about impressing groupie females.

  • u so stupid

  • Everything in the world is God and the abundance therein, How do you love god that you have never seen and hate/dislike your brother which you see everyday. loving your brother regardless of what letters are on his chest. So don't through the Christian psychology to bypass the fact you just hated on these Gentleman. BROTHER!!!

  • bruh u aint foolin nobody...if u in a frat yaself how u gonna play like all ur frat bruhs are so civil and mannerbly towards all women...the NUPE said nothing to degrade women so what are u kryin about??....so pull the hate out ya chest and grow up...YO to the nupes!..

  • DANG!!! i think i wanna be a nupe now...because everything thing they said im all about.

  • aiight so i get the whole think about not telln everybody u wanna pledge n being discrete n not jocin but how will u kno when its time n do dat canein come natural or did u all actually take da time 2 learn it?

  • Great video ! I felt like it captured the 'awe' of Kappa Alpha Psi. They were banned from my campus a few years ago , Pi chapter Morehouse College, but hopefully they will be back next term. MC Kappas will one day return to prominence and good standing. I will make sure of that.

  • do you know if and when Pi is coming back..

  • man id love 2 be a nupe but i could never be able 2 work a cane like they do!

  • whats the song in the backround I been looking for it for the longest

  • huslaboy please don't look at us as GODS, we're just regular people like you as well. Regular people that have gone through certain experiences to learn about Frat Life. Just work hard to get what you want, BUT PLEASE DO NOT LOOK AT US AS NO ONES GOD, WE ARE COLLEGE STUDENTS, AND COLLEGE GRADS, THATS IT

  • Well said NUPE

  • well put together.

    ps--it isn't conceit when you KNOW you're pretty.lol

  • Til the day I die I am KA Psi! Iota Sigma Chapter. Milt Wallace Spr 86!

  • Hey

You know living Greek is evil

    The Eager Urger

  • I want to be a Kappa when i go the college i still have 4 years. Is it offensive to people who are already kappas when people say they want to be a kappa

  • i dunno, b/c my pops is a kappa and i wanna pledge also.

  • thank you

  • it shouldnt it doesnt for the aka's just dont claim unless youve really gone through pledging if u do with out it i hear they can black bar you

  • No, it isn't I am a Nupe, but do not go claiming that you are one. Also, whenever you do get to college everyone does not need to know you want to pledge Kappa, be diskrete.

  • tx40, is telling you good stuff, when you go to college DO Not put youself out there, do not claim to be one and most imortantly do not approuch the brahs in a group go to them one on one and talk to them, make sure you got your ducks in a row before you try to talk to them; that means have a good GPA, have your money straight, have enought hours.

  • Be cool with the members but don't be a dick rider, support there functions, attend partys, let them see your face but don't act like your trying to hard to be one; remember every member was a wantabe before they were, so be cool but don't let pledging be your only goal in college, KAPsi is about ACHIEVEMENT, especially in school.

  • that was good but can somebody tell me where i can get that song that go "im gonna take a stroll one day down the kappa lane" or whats the name of it... thank you and good job

  • The dude with the white nupe shit in the middle of the video is nasty with the cane. Much love to yall.

  • Hot Video Bruhs. I'm a nupe from the Lambda Chapter at Temple, SP "Oh Fly" 05.

  • The documentary was an Achievement. Way to represent Spr. '05...I saw a few glimpses of Beta Chi at 2:25, 6:03, 8:07...The Monster by the Sea!!!

  • Stop Lying and Posting Up Fake Comments b/c I made the Project so stop tryin to Promote ur website through mine, thanks

  • check out thegreekprofessional dot com

  • Yea, I definitely got a kameo at the end doing the Chester stroll...Shout out to Chester Alumni. Also, the video is on point Bruhs...keep that achievement going. YO YO

  • I love greek life...my problem was that I dreamed of it the way it was in the old days..not beatings, fighting over who is the best, and partying. Shit all that I did on my own I wasn't about to pay $1100 to do it with people. I understood the real meaning of sisterhood, becuase of that I decided not to pledge. I prefer to remember the sorority the way it was in my dreams instead all the other stuff

  • Nupes, there's a kouple of kameos of me in here twirlin' at the Greek... where's my retroactive kommission?...lol Naww, on the real this is a nice Documentary. A good way to show young kats a lil bit of what the frat is about...keep up the good work...from green and white to krimson and kream...on the YOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • Yes Mam Jesus is always 1st in my life. But as far as a "Process" goes it has nothing to do with being accepted, it deals with the experience that comes along with it. Nothing like it, and its shows another side of College Life

  • Hello!

Umm... I have a question? What do you men gain from joining a fraternity? I'm just a curious sister who goes to VSU. My handsome brothas why must you go through a "process" to be accepted into a "secret society." After going through the process have any of you men accepted Jesus Christ into your lives?

  • Ladyoftrinity, Kappa is not a secret society.

  • Okay!! So tell me about it

  • nice video!!! didn't know VSU had so many on their campus

  • See the last interview with Johnnie Cochran speaking on the subject of him being a Nupe search INTRO BLACK GREEK on youtube and follow the link

  • Hats off to you NUPES I hope I can be like yall one day, if Kappa Alpha Psi is anything like what you all put into this clip. I hope I can join you all one day

    Respect Nupes

  • Yo Game and my other bros at Alpha Phi Chapter...thanks for putting together this video snapshot of our Frat. You represented the Frat well, AND your illustrious chapter as well...the Black school experience seems like something to be cherished, especially as a Kappa man. One of my old Newark Alumni chapter brothers, Edmund Fields and his sands, that great achiever Reginald Lewis from Alpha Phi '63 must be smiling down on you guys from the Chapter Invisible!

  • As a graduate of Alpha Phi Chapter, having been initiated there 50 years ago, I was quite interested in this video. It was a video that reflected quite a bit of skill at video making as well as a devotion to Kappa Alpha Psi.

  • this is a good video... well put togethere nupes

  • There is a 10 second delay on this project...so just wait
