I removed MOST of this XP Total Security. At the bottom right hand corner - I have that Red shield with the white x. When I click on it, it says XP Total security. I don't think I removed it properly. I used the number so that I could fix it this far. I downloaded Spyware Terminator and ran it. I just want to make sure that this program has finally stopped. How can I remove it 100%?

Dude this new 2011 version they run of total security dosnt allow you to go on to the internet even on safe mode with networking, nor does it let you runa any programs in it either, i already have malwarebytes but everytime i open it, it gets blocked by total security, what do i do ?

try running rkill or roguekiller to stop the rogue process, then run Malwarebytes. Also If you enter in the url a direct download link then I don't think total security will block it.

My vista fourtunally asked me if i want to run this program (like it does whenever you download something from the internet)

I followed the path it gave me and deleated it. It was in my temp folder.

The pause button works well to write these steps down as you go! Press 'Crtl-Alt & delete' for TaskManager box to appear. For me the only thing that worked was to click on 'tools', click on 'internet options' & delete all history, cookies, passwords & any add ons delete options that come up, then click on 'delete all' the delete history took ages but be patient & wait for it all to be deleted & restart your computer. Hope it works for you too! Good luck.

If malwarebytes installs but says it's missing the executeable you need to rename the executeable and then thumb drive it over to drop into the malwarebytes folder. This will allow you to run it, unfortunately it didn't get it all for me which is when I found this video gonna go check legitimacy of superanti spyware then follow the video

Lol my bro had this on his laptop and he eventually just gave up.. the Total security wouldn't even let him load up task manager, or Firefox, I decided to try and fix it. If your in this deep, you have to use internet explorer and download that Malwarebytes program like the guy said then reboot in safemode (cause Total security won't let u install) then install in safe mode and scan computer. that's what worked for me, unless you catch the this program at an early stage just follow this guy : )

hmm... if a message box with a rex x appears saying it shuts down your computer in x seconds, go to Start>Run and type in: shutdown -a . that will stop the shutdown of your pc. or you can try again if this does not work, like you restart your PC and after reboot you immadiately start Malwarebytes(download that instead of SuperA.S. cause its better I think) and the time should be enough. PM me for more solutions, i will reply in 24 hours.
