  • why doe the plane have the landing gear down at high altitude

  • @qantaspilot95

    Maybe for braking??

  • Hey guys. Our guys use 11000 form WLG to NSN and 16000 from NSN to CHC and climb to 25000 between NSN and AKL. Hope this helps. I work for Air Nelson.

  • @cessnanick

    thanks!

  • @cessnanick Is it still possible to get allocated a "jumpseat" position these days? I am flying a lot between Nelson and Chch at the moment for work. As I have been flying the Q300 in my flight simulator a lot I would love to spend a trip in the jump seat of a real Q300.

  • @snikpohsemaj Hi there. It is possible. Let me know when you are next flying out of Nelson and I can see what I can do. It will depend on the Captain if they will let it happen. The rules are pretty tight now. You can ask at check in and they can ask the drew for you. Just tell them you are an Aviation enthusiast. You can e mail me at tarmacboy@slingshot.co.nz

  • @cessnanick

    thanks a lot!

  • I've been as high as 19,500

  • im moving to nelson soon any tips for me when i get there? (besides sleep XD )

  • ive flown around 16,000ft to auckland, i was suprised

  • Thanks.

  • Great Video. What's the usual cruising altitude for these birds?

  • hey!

    thanks!

The usual cruising altitude is FL100

    :)

  • FL100 seems low? Maybe right NSN to WGN, but I thought they usually headed closer to FL200 for longer trips?

  • @mrlw40 When i went from Nelson to Christchurch on this aircraft we flew at 17 thousand feet :)
