Part 3/PS , :-O ! I only came back to inform anyone reading this,it pays to check! often! when looking for a show like iron & wine.I went to recheck for atl area, missed it !! by a whole 7 days @ buckhead theatre !!! Wth?!?!?....now tragically blue. Ugggh...can't see tix prices for atl, but if comparable show schdld in oakland in dec, I should be totally ashamed-- only $36 bucks, ripping Sam off, I think. I should be quiet, and thank him instead. Plz come back to atl and soon. (@atl216rocker)
@atl216rocker - Prt 1 of 1.....Wow, this is beautifully captured clp from the show in Tallahassee, sound is good, too. I lived in Tally for alost 10 years, & lived in a very rural town about an hour north of Tally when they were there-(thrfore 0 radio stations,no good ones anyway) and I didn't have internet @ the time (hnstly only knew of them thru garden state sndtrck). If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have missed it for anything. I'm near ATL now ......
@atl216rocker - Part 2 of 2 - .....and search for them hoping to catch one. Im glad to see this footage esp. from a venue back home. It's great quality & sound (best I've heard from cell? yet) your practically in his lap! Nice. Where did they perform? And did u really bump into Sam in the parking lot? Thanks for sharing this and if you have more u should def upload. Great stuff, fav song.....and ur a lucky "rocker". Thanks to my sweet Kevin for showing me what I & W, are all about.
@cceccacci777 thanks, I was in the front and it was definitely one of the best shows I have seen, performed at The Moon. My friends and I really did meet him in the parking lot; he even dedicated a song to us :) he seemed like a very nice man, although a bit shy. probably the best concert experience I have had (this is ATL216rocker; I no longer use my old youtube account.)
Oh hurray! I was at that show! I hated how the stupid jam band took up so much of his set. But this performance of this song was great.. thanks so much for putting it up!
It's painful and beautiful. No song has ever made me feel the way this one does. Simultaneously happy and sad like looking at old pictures. I heard someone liken it to this: "I'm crying in my coffee and having a hard time drinking it through my smile"
Absolutely agree! I am never afraid to die. I can feel sorrow for my children maybe but, with this song, I will definitely die in peaceand walk thru the Pearly gates with a smile to God!

The live versions aren't as good as the record. The changes in harmony are aren't helpful and hurt the performance.

During this song your suppose to be dead quiet, or sing along. Its a song meant to be felt.

Yes it's a beautiful song, but it's about death, didn't you catch that with the 'God' and 'Lucifer' and 'The pearly gates'?

death can't be beautiful?
