  • Have just returned from a camping trip to Inistrahull two days ago (15th - 18th July 2010). The Island and it`s wildlife are absolutely spectacular. A beautiful place.

  • Thank you for showing us this.

I always wondered what it looked like from close up.

  • Margaret

A great video, like Ralton, my Dad's family came from the Island, coming onshore after my Grandad was drowned at sea in 1917.

I reckon one of the old houses you feature is the family home. It's a beautiful place and we have a rarely found geocache there for people to find with a GPS.

    Regards

  • Our Great-granfather was the lighthouse keeper on Inistrahull. In 1907 he (along with a crew of other brave men) were recognized by the Royal Life Saving Society) for their actions in 1907. Given my grandmother lived on Inistrahull as a young girl (as well as other members of our family), this video is very dear to our hearts and greatly appreciated...Thank you for your posting...especially the 'old lighthouse and school...Randy

  • Thanks for your response Randy. So glad that you're enjoying this.
