I guess that was part of it but I wanted to know what he owed them. I wanted to also know why he was so bitter at the world? In TLM atleast we understand Ursula was mad because she was kicked out of the palace for treason. In TLK Scar was jealous of Simba being king and wanted the throne because he hated being passed over.

Facilier is bitter towards the rich people because he believes that they barely give anyone the time of the day besides other than fellow wealthy people. As evidenced by his line "Those fancy cats in their cars don't give you so much as a sideways glance". This probably led to jealousy against them do to them having money and in money he saw power.
@Ttadmer With Facilier I felt as there wasn't enough of a solid motive for him to do what he does. Secondly he did not come off as threatening. His hench demons seemed more scary than he did and that's a problem. There defintely should of been more scenes given to him so they could build upon him being evil and scary. And as a villain he feels unimportant to the story. You could of just had Naveen eat some magic beans that did the same thing and you'd lose just about nothing besides the song.
@Ttadmer There are villains who presence makes the movie feel 'complete' and sort of 'important'. In the Lion King Scar's actions and pressence were a constant force throughout the movie. In Star Wars you often thought about the dangers of Palapetine and Darth. What I'm trying to say is that he didn't feel dangerous. Even in Cats Don't Dance Darla Dimple felt dangerous simply because you saw how determined she was to destroy those animals.
@Ttadmer I think they had made Facilier himself go and look the frogs that would of added a different dynamic to it. They needed to make him more of a threat.

And they make all the villians vulnerable to some item's destruction. Like that reliquary in Anastasia (not Disney), or that lamp in "Return of Jafar." At least the One Ring had the additional condition of only being vulnerable to destruction in ONE place in the whole world.
You know, at first, I wasn't too flattered by the tunes in this movie. But after watching it over, the songs are kind of catchy. Surprisingly, they get stuck in the head which is what jazz does really. Jazz music is repetitive to the point that it plants in your memory. I will also say the jazz music wasn't generic historically. That is how jazz sounded in the 20's.
i do understand this is a commentary, but the only thing i didn't like was how by the end of the movie, the comments were taking up the whole screen...but other than that i like ur commentary!

You know, at first, I wasn't too flattered by the tunes in this movie. But after watching it over, the songs are kind of catchy. Surprisingly, they get stuck in the head which is what jazz does really. Jazz music is repetitive to the point that it plants in your memory. I will also say the jazz music wasn't generic historically. That is how jazz sounded in the 20's.

this is really funny!
i do understand this is a commentary, but the only thing i didn't like was how by the end of the movie, the comments were taking up the whole screen...but other than that i like ur commentary!
