This is definitely not a song by Mulatu Astatke, this song is nothing but a poor cover version of the great ethiopian singer Mahmout Ahmed's "Ere Mela Mela" or are they one and the same person? Mulatu Astatke and Mahmout Ahmed

Dear Z, I am an Ethiopian, and I grew up listening to this music. The original singer ( vocalist) of the song was named Seyfu Yohannes; however , the song was indeed arranged by Mr. Mulatu Astatke several moons ago. ...And no it is not Mohamud Ahmed's " Ere mela mela". I hope this clears up the issue.

It sounds more like Horace Silver's 'Song For My Father' than anything by Mahmoud Ahmed, considering that 'Ere Mela Mela' has vocals and 'Yekermo Sew' is an instrumental. And no, Mulatu Astatke and Mahmoud Ahmed are certainly not the same person, although they are both well-known Ethiopian musicians.
