no its not your connection, this game and other games by epic games use client side netcode.
what that means is that while the game will lag, its not like halo pc where you see a bullet hit somebody, but it doesnt actually hit them. in gears if you fire a shot, there may be a delay in the time you fire the shot and the time it comes out, but if you see it hit somebody, the game counts it as a hit.
bottom line, your connection is fine, its the way the game is programmed
im talking about how the unreal engine works. look at how its programmed if you have access to the source codes. it uses client side projectiles. im not wrong, im basing my comment on the programming.

donut, way to completely misinterpret my message lol. my point is that gears 2 sucks.... there's WAY too many reasons to list why it does. im not saying the dl content is the reason it sucks. i'm saying what they're doing with the dl content shows they aren't selling shit... which helps prove that im not the only one who thinks this game sucks. where did u get the idea that i think their content is expensive? if it was 5 cents, i wouldnt buy it. did u read what i wrote or what you wanted to see?

i read and interpreted what you said as "they screwed up gears 2" and "the game sucks because its not making enough sales so the dlc is alot more expensive than the dlc for say... halo 3 or something where each map pack is $10"

no its not your connection, this game and other games by epic games use client side netcode.
what that means is that while the game will lag, its not like halo pc where you see a bullet hit somebody, but it doesnt actually hit them. in gears if you fire a shot, there may be a delay in the time you fire the shot and the time it comes out, but if you see it hit somebody, the game counts it as a hit.
bottom line, your connection is fine, its the way the game is programmed

im talking about how the unreal engine works. look at how its programmed if you have access to the source codes. it uses client side projectiles. im not wrong, im basing my comment on the programming.
im assuming you are basing your comment on your experience playing the game

im pretty sure gears 2 online is server side hit detection. thats why theres a host.

there can be a host and have client side projectiles. the only difference is that it waits for a response from the client before the bullet appears.

i played against a team that used a lagged switch i know because it was annex and no lag when they have the ring and lag when we had the ring and we still won they kept their mouth shut.
