Zag, you looked over the people that are in the commercial working at GM. Their jobs are a whole lot easier because of the robots. The really funny part is that GM and quality have been put in the same sentence! At the end of the day American cars are amongst the worst built in the world, and that is a major factor of why Ford, GM, and Chrysler are going down the tubes, because people now want products worthy of their hard earned cash.

True. Its a little bit better - but this is one of the best commercials I've seen that actually makes you feel for a robot. Great commercial.
I'm assuming all the people that didn't like jumping off the bridge scene never see rated R films (since that has more violence than a commercial). I guess I only look at it as a fictional commercial and I don't read that much into it. Maybe I should.

Zag, you looked over the people that are in the commercial working at GM. Their jobs are a whole lot easier because of the robots. I guess we could go back to the old days when cars took weeks to build, making them cost tens of thousands more. Plus all the lost extremities the tools used back then caused.

GM has lost so much money, it ought to be the CEO Rick Waggoner who swings the sign and jumps off the bridge, and he can drag his buddy Bob Lutz with him. This AD is typical of how GM management places the blame for their failures on the white & blue collar workers. I used to work there... I know about GM and their emphasis on "quality"... all they care about is squeaking by. Take the advise of a retired GM engineer... buy Toyota or Honda! Much better and safer cars for the money.

There's too much money invested in commercials, especially the ones aired during the Super Bowl, for them to ever be "just commercials" and "without meaning." This particular ad has been discussed a lot because people wonder if it was intentionally made to get people's attention by being controversial--a method of cutting through the massive ad clutter during the Super Bowl. It's obviously worked.
