Hey TYT how many wars have been fault on American soil? Also you said that the government deems the 'surge' as a success. Doesn't a success entail a conclusion. Republicans and Democrats are just two parties created to give the masses a sense of choice and belonging. Both of them have pros and cons and many members play on both sides. As far as our 'enemies', we are in a new cold war. The game is political and social, real wars are only fought for land, resources and religion. That coming soon.
I am DEEPLY SORRY if I offended anyone with my comment. I thought I would utilize my right to free speech while it still last in this degrading country.
P.S. Do not worry Libertarians I have donated substantial amounts of money and time to various charities. It is too bad more Republicans donate more to charities than the Democrats and Libertarians combined..interesting.
In your opinion, should the government transfer troops from Iraq to Afghanistan for longer terms. Of course not, but how do you promise to bring stability to Iraq without the support of the U.S. military Mike? You cant. Well maybe if we bribe the terrorists with candy and flowers they might forget our differences and give us a great BIG hug; just make sure you dont give them a box of classic DVDs.
Second notion, according to Mike, the SURGE is a failure. The SURGE has been documented by the archives from the United States government as a military SUCCESS. So Mike, where are you getting your information? Should the government slowly remove troops from Iraq and allow terrorism to bully the world into submission.
Examples of such countries that threaten us (the United States): North Korea, China (investigate the first term of George W. Bush and his relationship with China), Mexico (Drug Cartels; whom we (United States companies are supplying), Israel, and guess what? MANY MORE!!!!!!!!! If you disagree please comment.
The mere thought that someone from this PLANET actually believes subduing the level of defense in this country (the United States of America) will immediately dissolve any threat against the United States absolutely makes me cry from the evidence of ignorance promoted by hypocritical individuals such as Mike Gravel.
HES BACK! I am not completely sure if Senator Mike Gravel needs a hearing aid or a train of thought more. Nevertheless, Mike had an interesting question that I would enjoy addressing. Mike asks, why is it that we (government) in this country spend more money than the rest of the world on defense when there is not a single country that threatens us? Well Mike, if that is your real name; we unfortunately do not live in a world that welcomes peace. We are primitive beings after all.

I had a gay room mate in college and my aunt is gay. I agree this isn't a democracy anymore, but to think you deserve rights when you wish to take them away from others for no reason is flawed. Being gay isn't wrong, and I fail to see how it is. You're letting personal opinions and bias cloud you from logic.
people are the scared ones, you people are the ones with a phobia...you are scared to really say wat u think...if you were not then you would agree that being gay is wrong. I do not have to go with the larger crowd and tell you I like a certain group of people because every1 else does...I DISLIKE GAYS and have every right to do so...i dont give a fuck about no government system or no made up fairy tale about how were all living a democratic free life by being able to say shit but never do shit..
i dont get it, why do you dislike gays? what did they, as a group, do to you? is it because they make you feel uncomfortable? is it because you have a superiority complex? want to feel like you're better than the rest, but you can't, so you want to feel like you're better than gays? is it because of religion? which one is it? Jainism? Gnosticism? Christianity?
No its because we dont believe 2 guy should fuck eachother in the asses and go about telling every1 its natural... we arnt used to it and probably wont be
well.. i also think its weird, but they probably think putting a penis into a vagina is weird too.. in nature, there are gay animals, i saw a documentary on gay birds, straight birds let gay birds take care of their eggs or something. anyways, i have a feeling that there is a gay gene which can also be activated by environmental factors.
i just believe that you shouldnt discriminate against something they cant change, im sure no straight person can turn gay by will
Actually the problem I have is that it is very misleading. A person that goes thru a really stressful time in their life will look for answers as to why thye feel so different from everyone and the most widely advertised solution is that he may be gay. I just think they shouldn't be so open and let them be happy to themselves. IT doesnt bother me if I don't have them in my face telling me its natural.
is fucking a woman in the ass natural? the asshole is an exit passage. so, it's not natural for a cock to go up an asshole period..but, are u complaining about men fucking women in the ass?..the point that YOU think it's unnatural is irrelevant..if gays personally feel that it is natural, then let them do it in peace. it's a pathetic thing that most of america is intolerant to gays..if being gay makes some people content, why not just be happy for them?
Hey let them have their fun and games but dont let them call me an asshole for having my own opinion about the matter ok. Just because I don't agree with them doesn't mean im an asshole or intolerant. The point of sex is to make children period.
contentment in any form is natural. all other spin on the subject of homosexuality is irrelevant..if it makes one content, then it is natural..
"the point of sex is to have children period"
are u human or are u a bear?..sex is for mental health, for pleasure, for fun, to express love, to express lust, etc. for a human being it can be for a number of reasons. not just to reproduce..u have more work to do freeing ur mind.

That douche Rick Sanchez sounds like one of those stereotypical news anchors with toupees. You know, the type that try so hard to sound like white douchers?
John "Three Checks" McCain claims to be fit enough to be president, but gets a disability check from the NAVY.
He also gets a government check from the SENATE, although he has the worst attendance record in the senate.
Third, he gets a SOCIAL SECURITY Check!!!
He doesn't return any of these checks to the Treasury (U.S. taxpayers). So, he claims to be for smaller government, but I guess that only applies to you and me.
suckitjesus clearly know nothing about Ron Paul's position and has come to his/her conclusions about Paul without fullly paying attention.
First, southern states have the highest black and latino populations in the Union. Southern white politicians rely more heavily on minority votes than most up north and midwest politicians do. The fact that you think 'Jim Crow laws' could come 'back' exemplifies your arrogant elitism and ignorance about the contemporary south.
"Or so you can ban gay unions and adoption? Or so you can ban abortion?"
Ron Paul supports the right of gays to marry if they choose to do so. And just because you see no value in the lives of infants doesn't mean others don't. In fact, most Americans disagree with you and actually believe in democracy and State's rights on contraversial issues like abortions and death penalty.
Lies. Ronny said leave Gay Marriage to the states. That's not an endorsement of gay marriage, in fact, it's the opposite. Are you talking about a fetus which has no functioning brain or heart that can beat on it's own? It's a mere cluster or cells when most abortions take place. It may be a life, but it doesn't have a life. Might as well let states vote on banning the removal of kidneys.
I don't buy that Ron Paul is more libertarian Gravel. Libertarian stands for liberty. Ron Paul is not for a womans right to make decisions about her own body, and he also thinks states should be able to ban gay marriage/civil unions/adoptions. Gravel will make sure the federal and state government will not infringe on our rights.
No suckitjesus2 your absolutely wrong & spreading dis-information. Libertarian = individual freedom. It's the state that as stolen & brain washed the people to give up their sovereignty by nexus contracts.
Thank you for making my point for me. Ron Paul is not a libertarian. He believes that states should be allowed to ban gay adoption/marriage and abortion. He is not for individual freedom. He is for the freedom of the states.
Actually, Ron Paul does have those anti-gay views but in practice he understands that it is unconstitutional for the FEDERAL government to practice those laws.
If you read the constitution and the tenth amendment in particular, that's exactly what it says. I'm not saying it's right and politicians should implement laws like that. I'm just saying that's what the constitution says.
Well you're a prick for wanting to limit the rights of others from small minded reasons, thus making you harmful to a democratic system, thus less American.
your a fucken prick for not respecting my views...if ur a fag lover why don't u keep that to yourself- I dont go out killin gays but i wont ever respect them .... god forbid your children become gay one day and id like to see wat u have to say then - so fuck u...democratic system ahahahahaa you crack me up
homophobe? loll is that wat its call now to dislike a certain group of people that have been disliked since the dawn of man? well then im a homophone lol but at least I dont have sympathy for gays and I stand behind my opinion no matter wat the status quo is...Please stfu
I'm sure many bigots stand behind their opinions no matter what the status quo is. That doesn't spare you from being a scumbag, I'm afraid. You're just proud of your ignorant bigotry and its long tradition.
Your a brainwashed piece of shit that doesnt respect other peoples opinion because you suppose your is so much more real. You are tired from the world because no one accepts your views so you take the role of sympathy to have others at least admire that about you but in reality you want to be able to hate people without worrying about who you've upset. See, your a sheep I am a shepard...now stfu because our idiotic assumptions are really buggin me.
The world is a diverse and unfair place. If we say that they should die because of their beliefs, where would it end? Who would be next? The only thing that severely bothers me is when the government steps in and singles out groups and gives some less rights than others, and some more than others. Everyone should be treated equally by the government and everyone is open to have there own opinion.
Mike Gravel lost all my support! In mid-march he endorsed Jesse Johnson of the Green party and 11 days later he switched to the libertarian side. Huh?! What the hell is going on? I tell you what is going on. Mike Gravel is trying to grab a piece of a revolution that he did not create by pretending to be a libertarian. That's being a thief - laying a claim to that which is not his. All the fantastic people who support Ron Paul won't fall for that scam!!!
I like Mike Gravel a lot, but the dude needs to read some Bastiat and other classical liberal authors. Mike Gravel is an honest democrat, but to consider him a libertarian is a stretch.
I agree. But to see a man show no loyalties to a party is refreshing, unlike Ron Paul. I think the only thing he has in mind is that he wants to win, push his Ni4D, so he can rest peacefully. But you are correct, he is no libertarian, although libertarian views are superior to conservative views, they still severely lack.
omg thank you gravel, ron paul wouldnt do it, but thank god you will. The dream ticket Mike Gravel, Ron Paul! LETS FUCKING DO THIS! get your guns and have REAL ELECTIONS
make no mistake i would take a bullit for this man....and i would love to give a bullit to the current president!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this mans words are the savior of america
The comments here are pretty funny. Not all, of course. I would guess that many here who criticize Gravel have not watched the Architect's and Engineer's Slideshow presenting forensic evidence of three New York Buildings having been blown up, through demolition techniques, on 9/11.
I love person in the United States and culture. And, it respects it. Why does not the country United States of the democracy and freedom criticize to a Chinese government? Do you know torture, the slaughter, and the rape occur in Tibet? I think that the leader in the world should be a justice. The leader in the world is responsible in the United States. American citizen is also the same. The action more than London and Paris is expected.
the president is the one raising gas prices cos gas industry is operated and owned by u.s politicaly affiliated groups, and increasing gas prices serves to raise societal misery and human hardship. bush nor any other president replacing him) dont care if you lose your home a president cares about wallstreet and banks losing money cos it deflates the economy
and reduces societal humnan misery.
democracy or republicanism is about societal collaps by gradually making the cost of life impossible.

LOL, he thinks the primaries are fixed and the "military industrial complex" "anointed" the nominees. LOLOLOL, what a senile freak. He doesn't even know what libertarianism is. He's practically a communist!
Wrong on just about every point you've made. I don't even mean that to sound condescending, but you make it hard for me not to talk down to you.
Why don't you do some research, follow the money, and read a book or something. Then come back and share your opinions with us. Until then, leave the political discourse to those of us who... know things.
I know I'm a Canadian, and, hence, I have no effect in the vote. But, ideas, and the power of the USA in the world makes the USA elections relevant to my life as well as the rest of the globe's. To that end, I'd like to say that I would change my support to Gravel from Ron Paul, as I just discovered that Ron Paul is a Theocrat to a dregree that could be disastrous. Good luck America. I hope you can overcome the effects of the military industrial complex before it's too late.
I was hoping Ron Paul would run independent but it looks like I will be voting for Gravel this year. We need to spread the word of Gravel's shift towards libertarianism to all the Ron Paul supporters that plan to write Ron Paul's name in.
Mike (and campaign), I appreciate your candidacy but I don't think the Libertarian Party is the right platform for you to run on. They associate themselves with the libertarian right while you are a true lib (pro gay rights, environment etc).
Why don't you go for the Greens nomination instead... do you really want to be in the same party as Alan Keyes?
keyes is going for the constitution party's nomination, not the libertarians'. and if you actually look at the libs' platform, it's pretty eclectic. don't let ron paul give you a distorted view of what the libertarian party's platform is.
It IS a failure. Have the Iraqis stepped up to save their own country yet? When can we leave? Are there less suicide bombings now than a year ago? The entire war is a failure, it's actually not even a war, it's an occupation. And we helped bring the onslaught of a civil war there. Aren't we helpful.
I'm going to see Ron Paul speak at UPitt in a few hours. If I get a chance, I think I might just know what to ask him! I have to say that I am rather excited about this development. This makes things very interesting. Kudos Mike!
Nice going adolf. You're just perpetuating the p fopular negative use of the word faggot. Not only is your attack on Gravel's so-called 'vanity' completely unfounded, you're just as bad as anyone (not of black descent) who still throws around the N-word for kicks. I hope you're proud of yourself.

gravel hasn't been involved in politics for 20 years and exploited his former senatorial status to use the democratic debates as a soapbox and a way to get a bit of attention again
his only redeemable feature is his stated positions, which are worth nothing considering they'll never see power. check out the platform he ran on in alaska and maybe then you'll see what a cynical opportunist he is.
"his only redeemable feature is his stated positions, which are worth nothing considering they'll never see power."
Phew! Talk about cynical. Why won't his redeemable positions see power? Because people won't vote for him. But I was under the impression that the representative-democratic process works through people voting for the candidates who have the best positions and experience. I must be missing something...
"gravel hasn't been involved in politics for 20 years and exploited his former senatorial status to use the democratic debates as a soapbox and a way to get a bit of attention again"
Actually, in his twenty year absence from public service, Mike founded the National Initiative for Democracy -- very much a political involvement.
"Exploit" is a strange word to use in this situation. I'd say he "is building upon his Senatorial and political advocacy career..."
I'd also replace "use the democratic debates as a soapbox and a way to get a bit of attention again" with something like "run for president and return the power to the people."

gravel had no chance of becoming president from the get-go: e.g., no name recognition, no fund-raising, no grassroots organization.
if gravel was really interested in fighting for his platform like you say he would run for the senate again or for a lower-level public office. there the chances of succeeding would be higher, but of course he wouldn't get national media attention so that was out of the question.
conclusion: he is a faggot and a worthless vanity candidate
You just lost all credibility with that post. I see no need to even reply other than to do you the courtesy of informing you that you have not won this little exchange. I simply refuse to dignify you with any more answers.
Quote from yersi - "his only redeemable feature is his stated positions, which are worth nothing considering they'll never see power. check out the platform he ran on in alaska and maybe then you'll see what a cynical opportunist he is."
See? That wasn't so hard was it? You should state your case more like this, and stop throwing around grade-school insults just to jerk yourself off.
Yersi I didn't know that the media juggernaut had principles besides the promise they made to the CFR to keep quiet about the imperialism of the world they decided to embark on over 60 years ago.
I agree.Only Dr. Ron Paul,Gravel, and Kucinich are the only people who can call themselves true presidential candidates.Hillary Obama and McCain will be the next Bush and the destruction of America.
The case for the New World Order IS irrefutable. Just ask anyone fighting the NWO. Ask them ABOUT the 'people they want to save." Does those people LIKE YOU? No, they hate you. You have a 'tinfoil hat'. Do the sheeple ALWAYS obey TV? Yes, always. No one on either side, argues, the sheeple have a brain. Both sides agree the sheeple were BORN TO BE SLAVES. One side says, let them be slaves. Other side says, we COULD use the media, to TRAIN them to be human. irrefutable. The SHEEPLE OBEY.
"That day is thrust upon us. Like it was thrust upon our ancestors. The Lincoln administration required us to raise 3 regiments. Tell them we have done so."

intothetopcorrupt 3 years ago
But he thinks the right of the state trumps individual rights, which is very dangerous.
suckitjesus2 3 years ago
No suckitjesus2 your absolutely wrong & spreading dis-information. Libertarian = individual freedom. It's the state that as stolen & brain washed the people to give up their sovereignty by nexus contracts.
Ecologicalhomes 3 years ago 2
Thank you for making my point for me. Ron Paul is not a libertarian. He believes that states should be allowed to ban gay adoption/marriage and abortion. He is not for individual freedom. He is for the freedom of the states.
suckitjesus2 3 years ago 2
No Ron Paul is for individual freedom & a government that upholds the supreme law of the land it's called constitution & bill of rights
Ecologicalhomes 3 years ago
He's clearly not for individual freedom as I just pointed out. These antigay laws are the same as Jim Crow laws.
suckitjesus2 3 years ago
Actually, Ron Paul does have those anti-gay views but in practice he understands that it is unconstitutional for the FEDERAL government to practice those laws.
LarissaDistler68 3 years ago 2
So you're saying Jim Crow laws and anti-gay laws are constitutional as long as they are implemented by the states?
suckitjesus2 3 years ago 3
If you read the constitution and the tenth amendment in particular, that's exactly what it says. I'm not saying it's right and politicians should implement laws like that. I'm just saying that's what the constitution says.

Larissa - read the 14th amendment.

The world would be so much better if all homophobes and racists died.

FreeYourMind818 3 years ago

All the fantastic people who support Ron Paul won't fall for that scam!!!
dimonemon 3 years ago
I like Mike Gravel a lot, but the dude needs to read some Bastiat and other classical liberal authors. Mike Gravel is an honest democrat, but to consider him a libertarian is a stretch.
dimonemon 3 years ago

Do you know torture, the slaughter, and the rape occur in Tibet? I think that the leader in the world should be a justice. The leader in the world is responsible in the United States.
TheAusChap 3 years ago 2
keyes is going for the constitution party's nomination, not the libertarians'. and if you actually look at the libs' platform, it's pretty eclectic. don't let ron paul give you a distorted view of what the libertarian party's platform is.

gravel hasn't been involved in politics for 20 years and exploited his former senatorial status to use the democratic debates as a soapbox and a way to get a bit of attention again
his only redeemable feature is his stated positions, which are worth nothing considering they'll never see power. check out the platform he ran on in alaska and maybe then you'll see what a cynical opportunist he is.
yersi 3 years ago
"his only redeemable feature is his stated positions, which are worth nothing considering they'll never see power."
Phew! Talk about cynical. Why won't his redeemable positions see power? Because people won't vote for him. But I was under the impression that the representative-democratic process works through people voting for the candidates who have the best positions and experience. I must be missing something...
captaincool53 3 years ago
"gravel hasn't been involved in politics for 20 years and exploited his former senatorial status to use the democratic debates as a soapbox and a way to get a bit of attention again"
Actually, in his twenty year absence from public service, Mike founded the National Initiative for Democracy -- very much a political involvement.
"Exploit" is a strange word to use in this situation. I'd say he "is building upon his Senatorial and political advocacy career..."
captaincool53 3 years ago 4
I'd also replace "use the democratic debates as a soapbox and a way to get a bit of attention again" with something like "run for president and return the power to the people."
captaincool53 3 years ago 3
This comment has received too many negative votes show
gravel had no chance of becoming president from the get-go: e.g., no name recognition, no fund-raising, no grassroots organization.
if gravel was really interested in fighting for his platform like you say he would run for the senate again or for a lower-level public office. there the chances of succeeding would be higher, but of course he wouldn't get national media attention so that was out of the question.
conclusion: he is a faggot and a worthless vanity candidate
