I think it's funny how Conan demeans the idea of talk show hosts performing with their bands; he started doing this in the last couple years of Late Night, not to mention the Freebird performance on his last Tonight Show.

People seem to forget & for good reasons, the only reason that Carson is the host of this meager show was because Carson won it in poker. The host of this show was going to be complete random & Carson is weak when it comes to humour, like his monologue.

Hes a more serious type of interviewer with a strong music background (ofcourse). He did great things with this show regardless, some bad ideas too. Good interviews with musicians for sure. He always has the potential to become a 1:30am star.

I like Carson Daly, but not as an interviewer. Even to this day, I'm not a big fan. His strength is in music & he always has good musical guests. Conan O'Brien is one of the best interviewers. Funny, witty, asks questions you want to ask, humble, and smart. Conan just polished in this interview.
