  • Looks like burned trees in northern Arizona.

  • Good job, and a great video! You're further along in the art and science of tree felling than me; i am only a "weekend warrior"-type at this point! What logger 089 wrote makes good sense as far as hitting the wedge and looking up. You never know what's up there, that could come crashing down on you! What model of Stihl are you using? Did seem like it was bogging down just a little. Thanks again for a great video, and for helping me learn from you!

  • Why didn't you finish your backcut on the same side you faced the tree on? The side you finished on, I saw way more widowmakers than the side you faced it up on.

Also, when wedging over snags and hazard trees, especially fire-killed trees, hit the wedge, and look up. Driving wedges into weakened trees can send tops or limbs down on you.

Might try leaning your saw out a bit. Sounds fat.

Other than that, keep up the good work and don't stop learning.

  • nice technique, you cut that like a pro. california conservation corps?

  • Good ur cutting down dead trees like that thats cool make way for new ones to grow lol

  • yeah, lovely weather to be felling trees and text book precision cuts but H&S executive would have had a field day if it had taken place over here in the UK
