  • I bet that is exactly how he really feels. Check out his Woodstock version!

  • bellissima cancone! e... richie... sei unico!

  • So so so beautiful.

  • This is it. No words. Just music and emotions...

  • OMG,I don't know whether to jump up and down from the joy this song gives me, or weep from the beautiful intensity Richie pours into this rendition. He clearly loves and believes in what he does.May God continue to bless him with life, love and good health.

  • ditto. stone cold righteous, man.

  • Righteous.

  • As an old Hippie myself,,the man says it all in this great song...

  • I like the Woodstock version better but he still gets me every time he sings this

  • Yo he's still alive? That's wassup

  • He's not sweating in a suit because he's not sitting on a stage in August just before a rainstorm where it was 89 degrees and humid.

  • MASTER!!!

  • Inpossible to not love this fine man.

  • I'm not sure about this, but I heard that freedom at Woodstock was an improv. If so, he is such a great artist.

  • The man who got half a million people to clap in unison... yes indeed.

  • if he sweats in a robe at woodstock how isnt he sweating in a suit

  • Phenomenal!

  • Damn ... The man STILL has it !

  • any show that ive seen Richie he still puts 190% into it---he is the greatest guy to talk with or have your picture taken with--a true gentleman

  • New millennium ... Same conviction ...

  • i love this man

  • The same passion... thats scary!

  • I have seen him play this at a show we did together in New Mexico & it was amazing! Kris Lager was inspired enough to write a great song he named 'Call to the Wind'. I recently posted a version of us playing it in our living room. Thank you for sharing:)

  • I saw him at a church performing and talked to him when I was 13 years old

  • i saw him at a show at a local church, had a conversation and burned one down with him. amazing artist, and very nice friendly guy. im honored to have had that experience.

  • Richie Havens is like a brother, who's not a brothe,r of Yusuf Islam ( Cat stevens). He looks so like him! And plays with just as much passionate as him

  • Powerful song! Raw and emotional! Love it!

  • his voice here sounds better than at woodstock, i guess some things do get better with age

  • Holy Shit Batman, not ONE single dislike. I guess the trolls haven't heard of Richie Havens yet. Has long as his music lives, the man will never die.

  • wow, Richie Havens opened it and Hendrix finished it

  • after about 50 years of performing this song he still can show us his emotion for it. well done and good luck in further years.

  • You know we love you, Richie

  • Holy crap on a cracker! He's still got it like he did 40 years ago! Amazing musicians are hard to find nowadays...

  • Brings back LOTS of great memories. What class!!!

  • The one and only.

  • I will never forget the first time I saw Woodstock the film in 1971. So many unforgettable performances, but I will remember this song and this man for all my life.

Everytime he sings "Freedom" that I have seen, it is so individually melting.

  • He still got it !!!!!

  • Brilliant!

  • I used to work in an office directly across the street from a recording studio where Richie was working and used to see him in the street every day. Richie was always accessible, charming and friendly. Everybody he met became a friend and a lifetime fan.

  • What a beautiful most humble of a man. One of the last great beings we still have the pleasure to cherish

  • @krystyna93

The children of this world who are like this are many, fare many than you may expect at this time. You are a great being. I am a great being. There are more of us than you may expect. We are of the angelic realms incarnated and 'hiding' as human and transforming this planet's light body structures. NO SHIT!
