huh? didn't know so many of these women had native ancestry somewhere. it's crazy because personally these are all the ones that stand out to me( and the rest of the world I'm sure) I know a good number of the m go as black or whatever but it is good to understand how you came to be and who was responsible. all beauties.
Oh, no issue with you at all! I was referring to the general population and the history books. For some reason "they" (whoever they are) always are trying to say natives had to come from somewhere. I have always thought, "Why did we have to come from anywhere?" Why can't this just be our home? No issue with you personally.
most people particularly whites, envy native american indians because they(we) are very spiritual people and have a strong connection to what is real and the truth about all living eminates from us. those that see this video should be proud , like myself of their native american heritage.
to pimpdahoezdaily, i find the name of your email address interesting especially in regards/respect to this particular video ,lol, neverthelss, your comment is interesting, i agree we are all one race, but i dont know about whites, they are VERY different than all other races, if ya know what i mean!
man we all come from African descents its in the Bible. People are funny! but hey remember there is only one race the Human race. We all come from diffrent tribes and its all in the bible and the rest well you know it was removed. I love woman .
i dont care about the white ones,im so sick of other races trying to steal the beautiful positive black women we have and for example nicole parker says shes african american. so because she said tht her mom is white and "MAYBE" there is some native in there somewhere. i see the same thing with hispanics u all force the native and hispanic label on stars who let it be known they are black. how can u just deny them their own assertion of who they r?
@station4hiphop Most African Americans are of mixed ancestry, this is not something to be ashamed of. Native Americans and Latinos are not enemies of Blacks, these groups have a long history of oppression at the hands of US Imperialism and White Supremacism, they suffered at the hands of White Racism just as much as Blacks did.
@ComradeFlorian31 ur preaching to the choir. but my gripe with natives and mexicans is they deny having black African beginnings.even the mention of this fact immediately sparks an argument when the proof is in dna and even stone. the olemecs were before the aztecs/mayans etc. but the south americas never embrace that early civilization ask urself why. chinese govt. is suppressing their history of the first black asians why? we're in a time where it's not good to be associated with being black.
@station4hiphop okay with Nicole Ari Parker her bloodline from her father is Cherokee and yes she's part white as well...this is not trying to steal away from the AA community at all this is uplifting both. So many times that ppl of AA and NA admixture the native side gets over looked and that person is called black no matter if they are more native..Radmilla Cody is an awsome ex. for too long the one drop rule has been supported and has done nothing but cause pain and denial
@mcelite14 no,i read nicole's interview she said her father is black,no mention of native, not to dispute its validity but what you and other races need to acknowledge is tht the native originally came from black,i knw you want to run from the thought and it may disgust you but dna and every scientist in the world confirm it. the so called asian was the first humans grafted from blacks. search" africans in asian" natives are a branch of asia, and asia a branch from africa.
@station4hiphop Is it wrong for native women such as myself to be proud of our heritage? I suppose I do understand what you are saying. So, would it be equally wrong for me to state that I do indeed have African American on my family tree? Because I do!!
the beautiful natives at3:15,3:48 and 3:58 are more representative of the native woman than any of the others who have a slew of other races inside them.
@mcelite14 the very black women you give the "native" title to actually say they are black meaning they identify their selves as the original woman of earth ur actually selling them short by using a misleading title which u admitted to not clarifying. the fact tht ur playing a song from mariah carey and not an full blooded iconic native arrtist defeats the whole purpose for the upload.
lol this vid is sooo wrong. the native comes from african decent. but i get it,its not cool to identify black famous beautiful women as being attractive so "hey lets just say they are natives"
@station4hiphop some of these women are mixed blood and why don't you have any complaints about the ones that are white and native? Or did you not see them?
@unchele agreed, was goona say the same thing. the title is misleading theres no such thing as "diversity" amoung a genetic classification of people, only minor phenotype variation. since native americans all come from the exact same ancient migration one can either be native..or not lol. this title could only apply to a political grouping of people such as "americans" or "canadians".
@mstriplechoc i care, the video title is misleading your either native or your not. it should be titled "Americans who may have some native in them" that would be appropriate. as soon as your mixed then native people cant claim credit for anything that person has done, their looks, achievements or how they live their life. especially when the person doesnt live on a reserve, know their traditions or speak their native language. im 1/8 jewish, doesnt mean i represent israel...
@TheBrradsullivan ur no native either. ur not a "pure blood" and the jew u refer to is not JU as in the tribe JUdah, the modern jew are khazarians (book:the thirtenth tribe of khazar) and they are not of the ppl of God.
@station4hiphop im not native to north america no, but i do have indigenous native land (ireland/ england) just like everyone on the planet does. but what does that have to do with anything, my only problem with the video is it portrays these attractive or successful people as indigenous to the west when they arnt. they arnt even half they are quarter or less, some of them are just whites mixed with non native brown races lol ...oh an im atheist so im not sure what your last point was about
@TheBrradsullivan I suggest you research before you speak because there are women in this video that are half native...you can't just look at someone to tell how much of a bloodline they have any way.
I think native americans are beautiful just like mother nature just like how ppl be in pix of a beautiful scenery of nature no matter what race you are the pic looks good and thats how it is with natives no matter what race you are you look good with native in you
well im not mixed and i totally have issues with people who are not full blood native (i mean the people who are only half and what not). im sorry but thats just me :/
Im native and caribbean.. newsflash it isnt just blacks that say they are native.. everyone does. i can tell who the real natives are by their comments
why is Aaliyah in this video shes wasn't native american she was black. and beyonce, solang and Vivica fox are not native american either their all black too
@igotbieberfever00 i have don my research and it said aaliyah was black well 3 quarters black to be specific which is still black, beyonce is black and rihanna is 3 quarters black and 1 quarter Irish no native american. the only one thats biracial black and native american is Vivica fox but her appearance leans more towards the black side.
I find it immature, silly and crazy my comments where removed or flagged for spam, just because people didn't like what I was saying by what I have studied or gained knowledge of in a proper in institution.
Wow, and people would rather keep swearing, nasty horrible comments on videos, even this video all because that is deemed ok? It's called a debate people, not an argument! Welcome to the real world! Their was no swearing, name calling, or one person not taking into consideration the others view, "because I did" I did indeed say it did happen, just not as often when looked at actual facts!"Wow I call this ignorance if I have ever seen it.!
@SuperJay80 Why is it people like you are quick to point out how FAKE black women are when it comes to beauty? Yes, some black women wear weaves, but black women in general do not lie about this, and change their hair styles so much you can’t help but notice. But people like you don’t point out white women who have plastic surgery from head to toe-especially their breasts, lips, etc. Is that REAL beauty? Can you name some of them, who people like you put on pedestals as NATURAL BEAUTIES?
its a lot of programmed minded "prejudice self hating people" commenting about how they are lying IN THE VIDEO these PEOPLE MUST BE SMOKING COCAINE OR SOMETHING LMAO IM SURE ITS NOT ANY NATIVE AMERICANS SAYING RETARDED SHYT BECAUSE THEY TEND TO BE WAY MORE HUMBLE AND SPIRITUAL
All these women are gorgeous but,"I don't mean to sound rude or know it all" many African American's claim to be part Native American but most likely are Not! Yes they may have interacted in the past, yes their are some who indeed have Native ancestry, but most of them are myths or stories in their families due to historical folklore. "I am a History major". I have also done a lot of genealogy research for different people. So I would be careful who you put in these videos to be 100% sure!:)
@kardancer1 well yes I'm also pretty well versed in the confussion...check out my vid on origins of indian blood even though I left out my personal opinion of the situation..all of these women in particular have talked about their heritage in interviews or are even enrolled in a tribe ppl just don't realize it.
@DomsDrumming Well aren't you Mr/Mrs know it all. It's called typing fast tired college student. Everyone even the smartest people in the world have made spelling, grammatical and punctuation mistakes. Go find something else to nitpick at.Obviously, you have no life if you look on youtube for grammatical mistakes. Your just one of those people who likes looking to cause people to get rilled up, you need to grow up!
@kardancer1 I'm sorry you are catching a lot of heat but this is a subject that gets heated very fast... the guy that made the video Beautiful Native American Women/Red skin has actuallly made it so that he can check ppl's comments to control things instead just dealing with the issues including mixed bloods
ive heard that a lot i think the best way to find out is to trace your ancestry ....i mean after all people only look how they look because of geographical location....but its great to know about yourself maybe we can figure out the world started loll
@kardancer1 History major come to Robeson County in N.C. and see all the mixing between natives and blacks and if its going on now i'm pretty sure it happened then.
@31coronda I never said it did not happen, if you read my original comment I did mention that it did happen. All I am saying is that it is not as common as many people think and a lot of it turns out to just be a story that was brought into families. All I am saying is if you have heard that their could be, you should do research to verify it, because again a lot of it is just a myth.
Our women are beautiful for sure today, but when you see the old pictures from back in the day compared like this, the women then are even more stunning in a way that goes beyond everyone. Aho to the ancestors, look how strong and proud you are full of all those powerful survivor genes of grace, dignity, beauty, wisdom. My eyes well all up. Honor your elders who passed their greatness on to us and walk in beauty as a native woman!
There is such thing as a black Indian... many native americans helped africans escape from slavery. Therefore some inter-breeded during the course of that time. Native Americans are another race of color just like hispanics, Asians, MiddleEasterns , African Americans and Ect... Everyone has some sort of descent other than their predominate race or the one they claim or Identify with most likely. It makes me smile to see this... I am Black, white, Indian, I am seminole and cherokee.
I'm a mixed 15 male with black and native, and watching this makes me smile because they're is other women just like me that I wanna marry :) love my native and black women and put that together I can't wait to have children :)
I agree, half these woman are just Black or Black and White Mixed. Its so funny, all these heffas have WEAVE...LONG STRAIGHT WEAVE and that Magically makes them BLACK/Native American!??! LOLOL!!!!!! Now Lena Horne is Black/White....Eartha Kitt IS Native American, Black and White....Della Reese is Mixed, not sure what her mixture is But I bet its Black/White/Indian. Um..Aaliyah is 100% WEAVE...Um...Nicole Parker is Black and White...she's a bit retarded claiming to get her WHITE features from
@SuperJay80 yeah Eartha Kitt is mixed with native, black, and white...Della Reese is half native stupid. Aaliyah doesn't have a weave...Nicole Parker's father is Cherokee research before you speak and still no complaints about the ones I put up that are native and white...and you can't look at someone to tell how recent the admixture
@mcelite14 Whos the stupid one? I just said Eartha was Mixed! I even said Della was too! Aaliyah has a WEAVE, Tracy Bingham, WEAVE, when she was on "Surreal Life" Vanilla Ice even called her out on it, dumbass! LOL! Nicole Parker has WHITE ancestry, please explain her eyes. mmhm Are you Black and Native?? I AM FUCKER I know what to look for!
@SuperJay80 okay jerk..Aaliyah doesn't have a weave and if she did have a weave on what some point so what... Traci Bingham is native through her father and I never said Nicole Parker wasn't part white...and yes I"m native
ure slow aaliyah had EXTENSIONS just like everybody else in hollywood...as growing up she always had hair.....whether your hair is long or short ...you are who you are...most of the times the chemicals are what fucks peoplehair up....ure very retarded...i dont care what race you are or how much money you have you sound verY GHETTO and ignorant oh and dont forget to look up ghetto before you label one ethnic group...you must have adhd becuz youre hyper as hell all over peoples bloodline smh
you need help...hair has nothing do with blood line....it plays a part...but u can any color...all diff types of hair and still have other bloodlines ...you sound real low class and ghetto
half these damn people are not native i think it is funny that almost all black people say they have black indian in them lmao get real come to minnesota and see what real natives look like
@brandiist first off stupid...we all DON'T look alike most ppl who are mixed with native and black originate from the east coast or the southeast...not Minnesota where you find Dakota and Ojibwe dumbass you need to educate yourself before you speak
@brandiist honey as someone who is full blood native this video represents the ppl more than you realize...is the music traditional which I would prefer...no but the song is respectful and uplifting towards women..some of the women are full blood and the others are mixed bloods I see everyday...it's nothing new
I'm African American first but my grandmother is blackfoot and my grandfather is lumbee, both on paternal side. It's easier to.identify as black tho. I just have exotic features because of it though ( hair, eye/ cheek structure)
they are all beautiful native women... but i thought Rosario Dawson was Puerto Rican or something like that? but then again she's probably part Taino.
fergie has Native American some where down the line some people claim, but otherwise she is irish, scottish and mexican. Anyway you can tell the differance because the native women are absolutlyy stunning and beautiful!
I LOVE your video! (^__^) I'm glad to see you included many women of African American & Native ancestry =] Native Americans hardly get any representation in the media & Afro-Native Americans get even less. This frustrates & saddens me but my goal is to somehow help change this. I want the world to see the beauty of Native Americans both full-blooded & mixed race. Just because I'm part Native American doesn't mean it shouldn't count. I'm proud of who I am <3
Very nice to see real life Native American diversity instead of the usual stereotypes. My ancestry is a "North American blend" of Choctaw, African and Irish, plus my maternal great grandmother was Jewish. If the media needs proof that people can live together in peace, it only need look at the people alive today and recognize the truth about their ancestry and who they really are.
FARAH WAS FRENCH /CHOCTAW,MOST PEOPLE DID NOT KNOW OF HER NATIVE BLOOD BUT YET HER MOST FAMOUS POSTER IN THE RED BATHING SUIT IS POSED ON A NATIVE AMERICAN BLANKET, OKCHA MAHLI 2012
"there's just SOMETHING about white women." NOT said by a Caucasian man but a man of "some"color to a female who is of color. interesting, good thing all the girls of non Caucasian heritage had a few fellas who were willing to look beyond the exterior (melanin pigmentation) and see that on the inside we are all just females.
@mcelite14 yeah and??? What is clearly indicated is that Aboriginal American Women are as remote from American 'society' as a Hungarian Sword Dancer... and you know what?
That's actually a good thing... this interpretation of 'beauty' is flawed.
native americans just have weird noses and the bridges of their noses are awful even some white looking hispanics have inherited this from their na ancestors glad i didn't
Let the debate begin my parents told me my heritage I am told by strangers I am a native. But who are they? My heavenly father chose my family's path we have African blood also. I am looking forward to my destiny I have.
Where is the proof or evidence that any of the women featured [not speaking of those donning ceremonial garb] descend from first nations? Just because they look a certain way? Where are folks getting their "facts" from? I hope this has not been concocted based on the 'looks' of the women in the clip. It's not impossible but folks can't just claim or be labeled as First Nation merely because they have certain looks.
If you note most of what many Blacks would consider to be Fine Women are posted as having Indian blood. This is the residue from Jim Crow. Now people have become more sophisticated and would even try and learn a Native language but the truth is most of these women are mixed with various degrees of White.
they use to say 'I got Indian blood' as if thats a monolithe like the word African is used. Ask them what tribe and it was either Blackfeet or Cherokee but no real knowledge of either.
@kybelian most of these women in particular have recent native heritage and yea some have white as well not alot of pure bloods left at all even on the rez
@kybelian It would be nearly impossible for African Americans to have Blackfeet ancestery. The Blackfeet are a small tribe in Montana, and had no contact with Africans other than York from the Lewis and Clark expetition. Even to this day there aren't many blacks in Montana. I am from Montana, so I should know.
@sarahmakeswarnotlove Yea because we all know ppl don't travel if you are a Blackfeet Indian that mean you were born In Montana and is never allowed to live somewhere else and start a family ALL Blackfeet Indian only live in Montana and NO black ppl move their or visits their..In case you didn't get it that sarcasm
@thehappyusagi With the little blood percentage these people claim to have would date back a hundred or more years. The distance from the South where the slaves are from to the Rocky Mountains would be nearly impossible. We are talking about thousands of miles of Moutain terrain, below zero temperatures, and limited food source and thats just here in Montana. Nowadays it would be possible with a more recent bloodline.
@sarahmakeswarnotlove that's what's up yea you guys are much tighter when it comes to census records and documentation unlike us that are eastern or southeastern tribes...we're just messed up all around when it comes to that you guys even have a far stricter blood quantum Ojibwe is 1/4 isn't it?
@sarahmakeswarnotlove part of that misconception was those that are of native blood but because of racism and lack of passing on the culture it was believed that if you were black and indian you were of the blackfeet or the blackfoot tribes because you were part black...it wasn't out of claiming something entirely false but trying to cling to at least some of their heritage that was basically stolen from them
@mcelite14 It is insulting to the people of the Blackfeet tribe. They are STEALING someone elses culture. Can't people just be proud to be black or white? If you believe you have native ancestry then find out your blood percentage and get your CIB. Don't just claim it, prove it, register.
@sarahmakeswarnotlove True however, keep in mind many of them don't have the PRIVALAGE of being able to go back that far for numerous reasons..one being not everyone was listed on the rolls like they should have been..if they're desceneded from one of the 5 civilized tribes it's possible that an ancestor was listed as a freedman when they weren't , most natives for the longest couldn't read or even speak english so a piece of paper meant nothing to them...it really varies
I find the most beautiful images of women, portrayed in classic photos.True NATURAL BEAUTY and STRENGTH in their faces and the way they CARRY themselves. My prayers for the KEEPERS of the EARTH,that ALL FIRST NATIONS return to their ancestral roots and they WILL flourish once again.I was told by a female VISIONARY not of this Continent!!!It is the EARTH that helps us humans with ALL our internal ills if we can let IT!No man made invention was able to fill our SOUL,but HEAVEN and EARTH!
whattt. you are becoming anglos discriminatijng people here in mexico we know we have native blode and we dont discriminate for that the first president of mexico was a native from oaxaca his name benito juarez , you can se here withe black brown yelow and every body its the same we are prowd of the preispanic traditions please dont become like american if you are native , dont discriminate,
The Native of Beauty!! To bad cricket teeth English men killed them with chlamydia and all all kinds of weird disease. Native Americans women were sexually active as you can see that they are all nearly naked. Unlike native Americans, English people wore fishnets under wears and all kinds of weird crazy things.
It is pathetic that America still adheres to the Jim Crow rule . I guess it is inherent in you hence your shock that some of the women in this vid are actually mixed heritage
@EVEntially And the Creole issue? Please. Its as if this is a real ethnic group when the fact is these are Blacks who were slaves of or lived among Franco-Americans usually in the French territories like New Orleans, Biloxi or Gulfsport. The only real difference is they have French surnames rather than Anglo-Saxon or Scrotch-Irish.
This is not to say there are no real Black-Native mixes just to say most of this are defense mechanisms Blacks used to ease Jim Crow.
@kybelian Very interesting facts and points. I must bring you back to the original point. I was curious as to why people in the US refer to people with one black parent, one white parent as black. I researched and apparently the ''one drop rule'' states that a child from a mixed union will take the status of the inferior blood (blacks in this case)
@kybelian I would go out on a limb and say that whites then and today are uncomfortable with the union of blacks and whites and so will not acknowledge said union and so label the offspring black. However in the 60's the black movement decided that anyone with any black blood no matter how minute would be considered black.
@kybelian Could be that their reasoning was - we do not recognise white blood and our blood will always dominate yours as it is superior. Maybe this is why kids of mixed heritage are called black today and really the Jim Crow law is now obsolete ....but the black movement in effect has achieved what the whites wanted all along...just some ideas...being half Irish/African I am interested
@EVEntially Dude I'm American and I completely agree with you.I read some of these comments and all I could say is "really" lol I'm considered black but I have 4 different types of native american in me it's not even funny...
@thehappyusagi Thanks :) Thing is if one says ''actually I am not black per se'' and mention the diversity of ones heritage, it is almost as if one is distancing themselves from their black heritage when in actual fact you are just stating fact. So you are as much First Nation as you are black so why are you called black? It is irritating, but sadly people see us and decide based on colour and features which group we should be allocated....we don't seem to have a say in the matter.
@thehappyusagi People of mixed heritage should (if inclined) stand their ground and not be guilt tripped into denying any part of their heritage, simply because all parts are responsible for our very existence.
It seems black Americans are actively encouraged to acknowledge only their black roots...all other heritage is obsolete. I suppose it stems from the Jim Crow rule/law ''one drop and you are black (The one-drop rule is a historical colloquial term in the United States for the social classification as black of individuals with any African ancestry; meaning any person with "one drop of black blood" was considered black.)
@EVEntially most of us don't have any recent enough mixture to acknowledge. Any admixtiue I have is from slavery. i'm not ever claiming that. I'm not just black because of some rule and you know damn well that the majority of black Americans are WAY more than 1% black.
@swkstudent So why is your president black with a white mother? You can't get a more recent enough mixture than that. I'm not saying you are claiming anything ...you can't deny the rule exists ..I don't even know what ur point is...think of the broader picture/society
@EVEntially First of I never said the president was black. I consider him to be BIRACIAL. The average black person DOES NOT have a white parent or even grandparent.
@swkstudent in all honesty EVEntially makes a good point...at the same time swkstudent it takes a while for bloodlines to dilute and bloodlines add on they just don't go away so a person that does have great great great grandparents that were native have full rights to claim that...and vice versa is they were black..it would be rare for no more native ancestors to appear in that family largely cause they are very few ppl that are actually just AA with no other significant bloodline
@mcelite14 all I said was that most black people do not have a recent enough non black ancestor (as in parent or grandparent) to acknowledge because eventially's original post was that most black people do not acknowledge their other ancestors. I never said anything about being without any non african bloodline.
@swkstudent well yeah that's some true that they don't have anyone that's culturally connected which isn't entirely that person's family fault...alot of times it was basically beaten out of u....even though some things that are considered culturally AA are in origin native. :)
agreed...most blacks are in fact more white than native....88% blacks are mixed white while a low 14% carry native dna..i am white..black and native...my grandmother was full Shoshone Cherokee...but i look white...with a tan...hazel eyes with blonde hair...i don't even look part black....dna is a trip....
@EVEntially The reason is that we were legally and customarily persecuted for being Black. Nobody had us go thru a questionaire as to what White or Indian blood we had.
The Mulattos, Quadroons, Octoroons all were made to sit in the back of the bus with the total Blacks. This is not ancient history.
huh? didn't know so many of these women had native ancestry somewhere. it's crazy because personally these are all the ones that stand out to me( and the rest of the world I'm sure) I know a good number of the m go as black or whatever but it is good to understand how you came to be and who was responsible. all beauties.

unchele 3 weeks ago
@unchele but you're First Nations ya'll don't exactly look like us in the States...and yes a number of the women are mixed bloods
mcelite14 3 weeks ago
@unchele agreed, was goona say the same thing. the title is misleading theres no such thing as "diversity" amoung a genetic classification of people, only minor phenotype variation. since native americans all come from the exact same ancient migration one can either be native..or not lol. this title could only apply to a political grouping of people such as "americans" or "canadians".
TheBrradsullivan 3 weeks ago
@TheBrradsullivan who cares! they are mixed with native, the video says it all. Enjoy it, and stop the genetics lesson.
mstriplechoc 2 weeks ago
@mstriplechoc i care, the video title is misleading your either native or your not. it should be titled "Americans who may have some native in them" that would be appropriate. as soon as your mixed then native people cant claim credit for anything that person has done, their looks, achievements or how they live their life. especially when the person doesnt live on a reserve, know their traditions or speak their native language. im 1/8 jewish, doesnt mean i represent israel...
TheBrradsullivan 2 weeks ago
@TheBrradsullivan ur no native either. ur not a "pure blood" and the jew u refer to is not JU as in the tribe JUdah, the modern jew are khazarians (book:the thirtenth tribe of khazar) and they are not of the ppl of God.
station4hiphop 2 weeks ago
@station4hiphop im not native to north america no, but i do have indigenous native land (ireland/ england) just like everyone on the planet does. but what does that have to do with anything, my only problem with the video is it portrays these attractive or successful people as indigenous to the west when they arnt. they arnt even half they are quarter or less, some of them are just whites mixed with non native brown races lol ...oh an im atheist so im not sure what your last point was about
TheBrradsullivan 2 weeks ago
@TheBrradsullivan oh ok i cant help you with tht one then.
station4hiphop 2 weeks ago
@TheBrradsullivan I suggest you research before you speak because there are women in this video that are half native...you can't just look at someone to tell how much of a bloodline they have any way.
mcelite14 2 weeks ago
@unchele They are mixed with native American, so yes they are native.

All these women are gorgeous but,"I don't mean to sound rude or know it all" many African American's claim to be part Native American but most likely are Not! Yes they may have interacted in the past, yes their are some who indeed have Native ancestry, but most of them are myths or stories in their families due to historical folklore. "I am a History major". I have also done a lot of genealogy research for different people. So I would be careful who you put in these videos to be 100% sure!:)

Ask them what tribe and it was either Blackfeet or Cherokee but no real knowledge of either.
kybelian 2 months ago
@kybelian most of these women in particular have recent native heritage and yea some have white as well not alot of pure bloods left at all even on the rez
mcelite14 2 months ago
@kybelian It would be nearly impossible for African Americans to have Blackfeet ancestery. The Blackfeet are a small tribe in Montana, and had no contact with Africans other than York from the Lewis and Clark expetition. Even to this day there aren't many blacks in Montana. I am from Montana, so I should know.
sarahmakeswarnotlove 2 months ago
@sarahmakeswarnotlove Yea because we all know ppl don't travel if you are a Blackfeet Indian that mean you were born In Montana and is never allowed to live somewhere else and start a family ALL Blackfeet Indian only live in Montana and NO black ppl move their or visits their..In case you didn't get it that sarcasm
thehappyusagi 2 months ago
@thehappyusagi With the little blood percentage these people claim to have would date back a hundred or more years. The distance from the South where the slaves are from to the Rocky Mountains would be nearly impossible. We are talking about thousands of miles of Moutain terrain, below zero temperatures, and limited food source and thats just here in Montana. Nowadays it would be possible with a more recent bloodline.

@sarahmakeswarnotlove that's what's up yea you guys are much tighter when it comes to census records and documentation unlike us that are eastern or southeastern tribes...we're just messed up all around when it comes to that you guys even have a far stricter blood quantum Ojibwe is 1/4 isn't it?
mcelite14 2 months ago
@mcelite14 It might be 1/8, but I am not sure.
sarahmakeswarnotlove 2 months ago
@sarahmakeswarnotlove part of that misconception was those that are of native blood but because of racism and lack of passing on the culture it was believed that if you were black and indian you were of the blackfeet or the blackfoot tribes because you were part black...it wasn't out of claiming something entirely false but trying to cling to at least some of their heritage that was basically stolen from them
mcelite14 2 months ago
@mcelite14 It is insulting to the people of the Blackfeet tribe. They are STEALING someone elses culture. Can't people just be proud to be black or white? If you believe you have native ancestry then find out your blood percentage and get your CIB. Don't just claim it, prove it, register.
sarahmakeswarnotlove 2 months ago 2
@sarahmakeswarnotlove True however, keep in mind many of them don't have the PRIVALAGE of being able to go back that far for numerous reasons..one being not everyone was listed on the rolls like they should have been..if they're desceneded from one of the 5 civilized tribes it's possible that an ancestor was listed as a freedman when they weren't , most natives for the longest couldn't read or even speak english so a piece of paper meant nothing to them...it really varies

It is pathetic that America still adheres to the Jim Crow rule . I guess it is inherent in you hence your shock that some of the women in this vid are actually mixed heritage
EVEntially 2 months ago
@EVEntially And the Creole issue? Please. Its as if this is a real ethnic group when the fact is these are Blacks who were slaves of or lived among Franco-Americans usually in the French territories like New Orleans, Biloxi or Gulfsport. The only real difference is they have French surnames rather than Anglo-Saxon or Scrotch-Irish.
This is not to say there are no real Black-Native mixes just to say most of this are defense mechanisms Blacks used to ease Jim Crow.
kybelian 2 months ago
@kybelian Very interesting facts and points. I must bring you back to the original point. I was curious as to why people in the US refer to people with one black parent, one white parent as black. I researched and apparently the ''one drop rule'' states that a child from a mixed union will take the status of the inferior blood (blacks in this case)
EVEntially 2 months ago
@kybelian I would go out on a limb and say that whites then and today are uncomfortable with the union of blacks and whites and so will not acknowledge said union and so label the offspring black. However in the 60's the black movement decided that anyone with any black blood no matter how minute would be considered black.
EVEntially 2 months ago
@kybelian Could be that their reasoning was - we do not recognise white blood and our blood will always dominate yours as it is superior. Maybe this is why kids of mixed heritage are called black today and really the Jim Crow law is now obsolete ....but the black movement in effect has achieved what the whites wanted all along...just some ideas...being half Irish/African I am interested
EVEntially 2 months ago
@EVEntially Dude I'm American and I completely agree with you.I read some of these comments and all I could say is "really" lol I'm considered black but I have 4 different types of native american in me it's not even funny...
thehappyusagi 2 months ago 2
@thehappyusagi Thanks :) Thing is if one says ''actually I am not black per se'' and mention the diversity of ones heritage, it is almost as if one is distancing themselves from their black heritage when in actual fact you are just stating fact. So you are as much First Nation as you are black so why are you called black? It is irritating, but sadly people see us and decide based on colour and features which group we should be allocated....we don't seem to have a say in the matter.
EVEntially 2 months ago
@thehappyusagi People of mixed heritage should (if inclined) stand their ground and not be guilt tripped into denying any part of their heritage, simply because all parts are responsible for our very existence.
EVEntially 2 months ago
It seems black Americans are actively encouraged to acknowledge only their black roots...all other heritage is obsolete. I suppose it stems from the Jim Crow rule/law ''one drop and you are black (The one-drop rule is a historical colloquial term in the United States for the social classification as black of individuals with any African ancestry; meaning any person with "one drop of black blood" was considered black.)
EVEntially 2 months ago
@EVEntially most of us don't have any recent enough mixture to acknowledge. Any admixtiue I have is from slavery. i'm not ever claiming that. I'm not just black because of some rule and you know damn well that the majority of black Americans are WAY more than 1% black.
swkstudent 2 months ago
@swkstudent So why is your president black with a white mother? You can't get a more recent enough mixture than that. I'm not saying you are claiming anything ...you can't deny the rule exists ..I don't even know what ur point is...think of the broader picture/society
EVEntially 2 months ago
@EVEntially First of I never said the president was black. I consider him to be BIRACIAL. The average black person DOES NOT have a white parent or even grandparent.
swkstudent 2 months ago
@swkstudent in all honesty EVEntially makes a good point...at the same time swkstudent it takes a while for bloodlines to dilute and bloodlines add on they just don't go away so a person that does have great great great grandparents that were native have full rights to claim that...and vice versa is they were black..it would be rare for no more native ancestors to appear in that family largely cause they are very few ppl that are actually just AA with no other significant bloodline
mcelite14 2 months ago
@mcelite14 all I said was that most black people do not have a recent enough non black ancestor (as in parent or grandparent) to acknowledge because eventially's original post was that most black people do not acknowledge their other ancestors. I never said anything about being without any non african bloodline.
swkstudent 2 months ago
@swkstudent well yeah that's some true that they don't have anyone that's culturally connected which isn't entirely that person's family fault...alot of times it was basically beaten out of u....even though some things that are considered culturally AA are in origin native. :)

etornel79 2 months ago
@EVEntially The reason is that we were legally and customarily persecuted for being Black. Nobody had us go thru a questionaire as to what White or Indian blood we had.
The Mulattos, Quadroons, Octoroons all were made to sit in the back of the bus with the total Blacks. This is not ancient history.
