I need your help, but my fan is working slower, sometimes my screen glitches and goes black , but it still seems active , i tested leaving music on, and it continues. what do you siggest or recommend? I know this vid is old. but i'm kinda broke and can't buy a new laptop yet. my concern is mostly the screen.
do you know how to fix/replace the headphone plugs under the mouse, the middle one only works for me the first one is broken or it does not it stoped working. when i plug my headphones on the first hole i can't hear nothing and on the second one i can
just found that link you put up about replacing my tx1000. just almost a year late. -.- still. im going to do the penny trick, when that thermal compound gets here...
ha that was great. so i got through all the steps just fine (i'm trying to take apart the laptop to clean out the fans...there's a lot of gunk in there) until i got to the part where you have to disconnect the microphone and camera cables below the display thing...
pretty sure the entire white thing wasn't supposed to come off was it?
Okay I did the black screen solution and put it all back together...now when I turn it on (tx2000) it beeps 3 times, and then only the "power" light on that trio of lights on the lower left of the screen blinks (other lights are on, but normally during booting the power light stays on, and the cd symbol light - i presume for the drives - is lit). Did I reconnect something wrong or what?
great tutorial! one important thing you forgot (you might have mentioned it?) don't forget to take out the remote control! I just about broke my motherboard, who cares I was replacing it anyways. lol
As i was watching this and was ready to dismantle my laptop when my tx1000 worked again.. Anyway i left it offline for more than 6 mths now.. Without power and was using another laptop.. Ppl u might wanna leave it hangin some where first before considering to discard it. Anyway im running a tablet cooler fan below the laptop now +i am not moving the laptop+i removed the ramm cover (for more airflow) to cool the graphic card. Hope it works if it doesnt will update here...
i was hoping you would cover taking apart the screen.
do you or anyone who reads this know how?
i have a tx2 and there is a piece of dust/dirt beneath the screen.
it used to be fine when it was near the top of the monitor, but it migrated to the middle of the screen. it's very annoying when i'm trying to work in photoshop.
@abeijon100 Checked it out, unfortunately they require proof of purchase. It's been over 3 years, I have no idea where the reciept would be or if I even still have it. I got really excited about the whole thing, until I ran into that...
my tx2000 would not turn on. Instead, the lights would light up for (literally) a second and just turn off. I would not even hear the system running.o i have same problem??
Good Googli Goo! I recently experienced the black screen problem on the TX 200Z. I found another video on here to correct the problem, but I couldn't completely take the laptop apart. Your video along with jasonshay2's video helped me fix the black screen problem. I was skeptical at first. But when I saw that white HP symbol pop on my screen after reassembly I started dancing. I thought the damn thing would cost me a few hundred either to get it repaired or purchase a new computer. Thank you!!!
@hungrider after you take out both screws by where the wire connected to them, it should want to spring upwards by itself. After that just slide it out of that ram-like connector.

Try a copper shim to lower your gpu temps 15%. Search for "TX1000 Copper Shim" on ebay.
