Hey, it's a hard piece. At least give him some credit for trying out this titan of a piece and then proceeding to have the bravery to post his attempt on YouTube for all to see.
Sir, your technique, definitely isn't terrible, but of course, there's always room for improvement. Keep practicing. It's ten times -- nay, twenty, or even thirty times -- better than I could ever play.
he is an extremely good pianist, but i dont think he is enjoying it. he has a sad face. i think when you play piano you should enjoy and be happy specially with a song like this one. dont get me wrong, your are very talented I just think you should at least have a smile while playing it and the crowd would enjoy it more as well.
Excuse me, do you have any sheet music for this because I am finding it very difficult to determine how the first part is played because of the sustain. You are an obviously amazing pianist and you will go far with that talent. If you can help that would be appreciated.
Awesome awesome awesome! I like watching those kind of videos... even if sometimes it makes me feel down since I am sooo far to be as good as that. By the way, I think the "funaki1978" person meant it the same way... not in a bad way ahhaha!
@rvn10rvn17 there is no reason why an asian person would be any better or worse than a european person, it`s down to the individual to study and perfect thier instrument.
well I have memorized and learned the first part of the song known as "Vielen Dank" the OP from tom and Jerry in german the part with the piano...it wasn't difficult to play it by ear and I'm amateur...so when somebody is a pro...well
One thing that will make it easier is to get a piano stool with no back, to sit closer to the piano and a bit higher up, you seem like you're miles away!
you cant put this guy down. the sheer amount of time involved in transcribing thing and just being physically able to perform it recognizably is a feat within itself. none of us who cover these amazing artists are trying to prove anything. well, most of us anyway. great job man, i'm working on kung fu world champion myself, but i'm not even gonna bother trying to transcribe it exactly note for note, including solos haha
Good attempt, but you get to the point where you stopped being judged for if you can play our not and start being judged on if you can play it well. You can definitely play but as for playing the tune well you have miles to go. Keep practicing and get a good teacher to help you hone your talent, because you definitely talent.
i dunno, it needs perfecting, it has been transcribed SOOO much now, seriously if someone more recent says they have copied it by ear when it takes 2 secs to pull it off the internet, i tell them WHY would you do that to yourself
MUCH less sustain, better piano, una corda?
middle bit was fairly nice though
someone who is able to play so well should spend there time composing rather than trying to be as good as someone else, seriously, show us, the audience, what makes you special
A Great player! But Hiromi did it first and others are copying. This guy is a good player, but the Joy that shines out of Hiromi, is not present. (bad english from me too)
what's the point in playing a transcription ?? Jazz is about improvising. It must have taken you a lot of time to wrote it down, but many have done such works. It's not interesting, you'd have done better finding the theme, the cords and chorus on yourself, even if you wouldnt have get such a chorus
My sheet music transcription for "The Tom and Jerry Show" is up (Phew)! I took the original and corrected it (had numerous mistakes). Check out the link under my profile name. Enjoy!
that was awesome! (in my opinion) not as virtuosic as hiromi, but abfab none the less.. it would be great to see such an accomplished musician post some original works perhaps? maybe this version seemed less polished than hiromi's as this work plays to her strengths (as opposed to yours! :P)
Very well, you should keep playing and playing. Your version is quite similar and
well executed. No reason to be shamed about it.
Thanks for giving mus great opportunity to listen to such a great tune...and who knopws we might be listening to your soon on a CD...!!!Congratulations and keep working on it! You´re great! greeting frm sunny hot Brazil!
wow, ur a amazing. i can´t believe you played this by ear. you must be pretty talanted, or, you are. and it doesn´t matter if you slouch or not when it sounds this amazing.
It's one of the best transcritpions I've seen, good job!
But I assume you usually play classical music?
Because honestly, sometime, I miss the attack :) A piano won't break, so try to play in a harsher way, at least for that piece (not all the time, mind you, but sometimes it would cause no harm^^)
This must be the most stupid coment of all time!!! It would be like like John Terringer telling Sting not to use falsetto or Phil McGill telling the conductor of LSO to play the Pizzicato in continua fortissimo.... Uehara is a worldclass jazz-pianist with few in her class. If you have no clue whatsoever of what youre talking about, then don`t say anything. Or you might just ending up looking incredibly stupid...
And to stupid person nr.2 gikcp34! This is only Ueharas "version" Ex: This is how she interpreted the music.... And it`s not she that`s playing here.... I swear it should be an IQ test for beeing able to have internet connection!!

damnit, what is ur problem? i bet u cant even play half as good. asians with no emotions? u have no clue what ur talking about..go check out Hiromi Uehara, then come back to apologize.
ur a probably a redneck that plays metal, also, just cuz he isnt moving around to the beat doesnt mean he has no emotion. The emotion comes from within u douche.
I loved it! Just discovered Hiromi today while searching for Chick Corea pieces. She is an awesome talent. I totally believe you transcribed this by ear. Of course it's difficult but not impossible. Good Job

I don't think he's lying. He IS good at the piano. He was 20 years old, meaning if he was in college (it would be a shame for him to not be), takes music/jazz theory, and has perfect pitch, it'd be very possible. I'm a high school student taking advanced music theory, and I have perfect pitch. I'd spend a damn long time and a lot of replays writing it down, but I could probably get close if I tried. And I could play back the melody after one listen.
well, i will say that extraordinary human exist in this world.. just like Hawking found theory about Black Holes and etc.. you and him may be right. But, personally i don't beleive.. But i guess, i'd publicly say sorry to write 'fucking liar'..

This playing tells us that openig heart with pressng heart is so important to express our own feeling when playing music. That's so different from profesion player.
Pretty good!! I think you could be a little gentler, though... I know the issue with most fast pieces is that they are easier played loud, but that tends to make them kind of messy. If you just work on that, and lessen the amount of pedal, I think it would sound a LOT more crisp! =)
hey this went better than expected : ) You know it's a killer tune, if anything is. by any chance, would you share the transcription? This would be fun to try out!
By the way, AgariyaHonpo, nice damn job. I've transcribed a few of her solos on various things, but I'd never have even attempted Tom and Jerry. (Because I suck at stride, mostly :) Bravo.
Another Asian playing this song...why am I not surprised.

This playing tells us that openig heart with pressng heart is so important to express our own feeling when playing music. That's so different from profesion player.
more ability to feel is required for him.

Pretty good!! I think you could be a little gentler, though... I know the issue with most fast pieces is that they are easier played loud, but that tends to make them kind of messy. If you just work on that, and lessen the amount of pedal, I think it would sound a LOT more crisp! =)

By the way, AgariyaHonpo, nice damn job. I've transcribed a few of her solos on various things, but I'd never have even attempted Tom and Jerry. (Because I suck at stride, mostly :) Bravo.
