@SoggyWaffles785 Your right and wrong. The XL is in general a nitro but when you put an XL length chassis on a flux it there in becomes a flux hp XL .
@tim234mumba Well thats hard to answer.....it's controllable but as with any rc traveling over 50mph it doesn't take much to loose control. Really you just do all you can to keep it straight. Turning down servo throw for the steering helps. also lowering it as close to the ground as possible helps. Wide roads with no curbs are a must.
@tim234mumba mostly the knuckes and tierods pop off but other than that its pretty durable. Keep your motor/pinion gear mesh set right and you should be fine
@SuperHippo17 Thanks man.....yea those battteries aren't really for that application but they were able to deliver the power I was after. Bummer on yours going up in flames. You ever rebuild it?
@neumaxx24 Thanks....good question. I personally would lean towards the 1515 simply because I've done blistering speed runs, bashed shortcourse and in general just gave it hell and I've had not one failure from the motor. I do periodic maintanence on it, (bearing is it really) and it has held up wonderfully. Thats including several 200 plus degree runs. As for which is better for speed welI wish I could say but I will ask to let me know how the 1518 does if you go that route....good luck
@neumaxx24 if you were going to run the 1518, i would advise getting a 5s Lipo ( a 3s and 2s in series) for a 6s could result in you motor overheating, if that was your only opption, i would get the 1520 CC 1600kv Brushless motor, it is like turbo diesel when it comes to heat, and opperates the best when on 6s
@Raephti I did with the first two versions castle put out but the current V3 is holding up good. Although I did get one up to around 250F and it was done. I counted that one as my fault tho
@monsterGAUZ Thanks for your opinion....although it seems as if you may possibly be the only one that doesn't see the performance advantages to having the added length. to each his own tho
holy shit... are that 55 mph!?! I'm scare! I can go 120kph. thats 75 mph! I use the 2 speed tranny from the Savage X, looked in the 2nd gear with 44spur and 16 pinion!
My luck I'd get all wreched up and take it off one of my ramps wide open.
That drive gear made me shiver *l* Ordered those parts & who am i kidding I know I'll end up runnin 11.1v soon.
Went with rpm a-arms and another set of shocks. I dont like how the belly is open and it bottoms out on hard landings. I cant find a skid plate for the flux either.
I just threw em on for pics. I suppose I could have looked at that..lol
Temps were 215F at the motor and 130 at the ESC. I'll be running it again this weekend and I'll temp it before i shut off the camera. I'll break 60 next week for sure with un-taped tires and the 39T idler.

You have the left front and right rear tires on backwards @ 0:15.
Nice runs and pretty nice speed!, before breaking 70 do 60 mph first ;). How where the temps?
