Take a look at the screen direction...every interview that is saying it's a hoax, is sitting in front of the camera with their eyes facing left to right - across the screen - the direction our eyes are accustomed to reading. But the people that are supporting it as something that actually occurred, are facing right to left - opposite the direction we read which on a subconscious level lessens their credibility. I thought that was interesting.
I guess it makes sense to use eminems song, it is called amityville and he is as controversial as this horror. in fact i guess it makes perfect sense if you have the common sense to connect the two. lol i dont think george or kathy lied. i think that from the author to all directors for all amityville movies took what they wanted from the lutz's and made the rest their own to sell their crap. i tell ya, if i lied i would be saying no comment, not backing my story up 20 something years later.
The movies alwasy makes things bigger than they appear. But i believe that house was haunted with very lost souls and bad spirits. What about the people that have studied the house. There is something bad about that place. Is not a believe is a fact.
But seriously, many TRAGIC true events (ranging from people becoming mentally ill to murderous) have to do with Overreligious familys.. REALLY! I'm Not saying Most events and I'm not saying God is bad, but when people are So wrapped up in ignorant views, judging people and forcing ways, often shunning freedom, on individuals (usually fellow family members), bad things happen.

I think I believe that something may have happened to the Lutz family, but I think that the media attention may have twisted the story. It;s like the tale changes every time. However Lorraine Warren is pretty legitimate. I haven't seen her screw up yet. I also can't see how the picture of the boy is fake. Kids may stretch stories, but it's time we started believing them, and I think the girl was telling the truth. Remember when you were little and nobody believed what you had to say??

Who cares if its fake or not? Not even what happened involving the murders is true. When people say its a true story, it never really is. True stories dont sell. Amp it up a little and your making cash. Did something really happen, probably. Will we ever know for sure, no. Either way, it was a great movie. After hearing about this story, then seeing the pictures of the DeFeo family, I fell in love with Allison. She and I were about the same age. She was so beautiful, so charming. Such a shame that anyone could take the life away from a pretty girl. I truly hope she is at peace now.
Lutz is sueing the remake of Amittyville because it doesn't depict actual events, but he had no problem with the book that had fictional events??? I take it he's running out of book money? I don't normally like remakes but I really liked that one.

Mary Downey is full of crap, but all psychics are. The next door neighbour's story seems the most plausible, especially about his theory of their money making scheme. But the only thing here that I can believe in are the original murders. And the idea of Dawn working with her brother to kill their family seems logical too. Then again, their father must have done some great psychological damage to them, because even if they were driven, there was no need for them to kill the rest of the family.

Wow..watched all 6 parts. I believe that the house still has spirits of the deceased that are not ready to move on. They completely renovated the house. They put square windows in where the moon windows were. I think the quarter moon windows looked better. Most Dutch Colonial have quarter moon windows. They are tying to disguise the house so people stop visiting it.
The red room was just a cement closet under the basement stairwell painted red like the original outside of the house (used the same exterior paint). It was a toy closet when the klds were alive.
Nothing on footage during the full night in the house so they show the next door neighbors kid over and over. I guess if I just tuned in, I would think that is a ghose or something.

Kathy Lutz's son came forward in 2004 and bascially stated that while the family did experience some odd feelings while in the house, that his mother and stepfather basically fabricated the whole story. George Lutz tired to sue his stepson for lible but the case was thrown out.
Correction, Christopher Lutz has stated in writing that I have read that the story was not a hoax. You might benefit from looking him up and finding out the facts about what Christopher Lutz does state. Further, it would help if you sourced your material because frankly anyone can say anything out here and that doesn't mean there is a bit of truth to it.

Horror is a huge franchise. While there is no distinct proof whether ghosts and demons exist (only personal accounts), it is not an argument that people love to be scared. People want there to be more in this life than just our everyday lives. In the end, we have to look at this as entertainment.

Amp it up a little and your making cash. Did something really happen, probably. Will we ever know for sure, no. Either way, it was a great movie. After hearing about this story, then seeing the pictures of the DeFeo family, I fell in love with Allison. She and I were about the same age. She was so beautiful, so charming. Such a shame that anyone could take the life away from a pretty girl. I truly hope she is at peace now.

Mary Downey is full of crap, but all psychics are. The next door neighbour's story seems the most plausible, especially about his theory of their money making scheme. But the only thing here that I can believe in are the original murders. And the idea of Dawn working with her brother to kill their family seems logical too. Then again, their father must have done some great psychological damage to them, because even if they were driven, there was no need for them to kill the rest of the family.

Does anybody else thinks that with the windows changed, that house has a nice, peaceful look? I mean, if I'd be standing in front of it with the old windows still on, sure as Hell I'd feel bad... But, with those two quarter moons, it made sort of a sad face (when the lights were turned off, at daylight)... Now, it just looks like a decent, old house... They completely renovated the house. They put square windows in where the moon windows were. I think the quarter moon windows looked better. Most Dutch Colonial have quarter moon windows. They are tying to disguise the house so people stop visiting it.
The red room was just a cement closet under the basement stairwell painted red like the original outside of the house (used the same exterior paint). It was a toy closet when the klds were alive.

The 2005 movie version of The Amityville Horror SUCKS.
It looks less like a Paranormal Horror movie and more like a suspense thriller.
But the way the account was presented by the book and the original movie puts all credibility of the real occurrence in serious doubt.
If I experience intense poltergeist activity and see walls sweat blood in my house, requiring me to seek therapy to cope with the shock.
I'D NEVER MAKE IT INTO A MEDIA CIRCUS.

The problem is that they got a Priest to do an exorcism on the house. All they need to do is bring in Chuck Norris. One roundhouse kick is all it will take. You'll never see or hear that spirit again.
