@InYourPocketGuides Great! I haven't been to Berlin since 1997 (when I could still walk). I'd like to visit Berlin and Dresden but need to be sure I can use my electric scooter to get around.
However.. i dunno what happens to you ..probably nothing.. i was not trying to insult any nation but only his bloodline. And of course it wasnt meant to be demised to anybody else ^^
I thought it was odd that they replaced the front wall and huge wood doors with all glass. The same goes for the massive assembly chamber-it has windows that let you look right through the building. Originally in this room you could not see outside the room as it had wood and stone walls and balconies, it used to be built like a fort.
Lots of Soviet and German soldiers Died fighting for this place in darkness, and horrible conditions, soviebts fighting to raise theur flag, and now, the german goerment, uses it to win money from tourist
You and me both, dude. I'd like to see how accurate COD5 was with the building. I mean, obviously, the outside and inside were changed, but still.....
ZT2ExtinctAnimals, they modeled it incredibly closely in Call Of Duty 5 (WaW) to the original building though the game model is in better shape than the actual building was. Also the large central government chamber along with the rest of the building was destroyed by the fire before WW2 but they reconstructed it for the game. The room you enter with the stairs before the government chamber was smaller in real life.
toured this building in 2004 with a university group and goverment appointed tour guide. Saw most of the inside. The tour guide refered to it as where the political comeedy of the goverment took place. Nice tour. On the inside by the elevators they left the grafeeti from the russains soldiers that captured it in 1945 in tact along with some sections of origional interior ceiling marble. The big eagle hanging in the main chamber was found in the basement during renovation and the original.
i was here, in call of duty ...!!
