I'm not going to compare WP7 OS to iOS or Android. Each of these phones are different in their own ways respectively. WP7 OS is amazing. I had the chance to try one out for a week and it has the smoothest transitions and it's quick. The "Mango" update will really help the phone with tons of features and enhancements. I recommend you try one out for yourself at your local cell phone store.

Windows 7 phone is an information based OS. It keeps you from thinking "Let's see, I need my picture app" and more "I need my picture media" so it all feels like you are always in the OS.... That's the idea anyhow. It uses the twist UI from the Zune, which is, imho, vastly superior to iOS and Android.

Out of the box, the screen is better than the iPhone 4 (S my D, Jobs). The NVidia chip > iPhone's chip (S my D once again). I can take a quick note on here and sync it quickly with my PC, I'm a gamer (apart from Super-Breakout 2 Mac users), I'm an audiophile and like an audio chip that doesn't sound like I'm listening to my Walkman circa '94. WP7 > iPhone
I think this phone is more suited to those who just want simplicity. There's alot of people out there that get these high tech phones and don't know how to use them. I have the iPod 4g, so I can benefit from a phone like this.

people today never give the windows mobile experience a chance. They look at it and interpret it as trash. Now me, I tried windows mobile 6.1 standard and had it upgraded to 6.5, and I love it. I will never switch to another OS based smartphone besides WinMo ever. You never know if you are going to like it if you dont try it. Now Im not saying go out and buy one, but just try a demo of it or something besides looking at it and saying "fuck this, where's my iPhone?"

WinMo will eventually get better and more user friendly, its just a matter of microsoft pulling their heads out of their asses and giving people what they want. *sigh* this is all I ever want from a mobile device. I don't get these UIs. I was in love with Pocket PCs when they were new. Smartphone popularity has made them obsolete. I'm still waiting for a phone that has a fully operational OS on it. These phone OS's are so ridiculously proprietary. I don't want to be stuck with such a locked experience. I want my fully operational web browser (java, flash, etc), not apps for each web experience, for example. Fucking consumerists.
@JsemTady I think it depends on the type of tiles that you have pinned on your home screen. If you have most of your "most used" tiles on your home screen then there should be hardly any use of the arrow on the right at all. I think all that does is just take you to everything that you have stored on the phone such as apps and pictures and all of that stuff. Im still not really sure because I have never tried WP7 before and I probably wont for some time cuz my provider is metropcs :P

Out of the box, the screen is better than the iPhone 4 (S my D, Jobs). The NVidia chip > iPhone's chip (S my D once again). I can take a quick note on here and sync it quickly with my PC, I'm a gamer (apart from Super-Breakout 2 Mac users), I'm an audiophile and like an audio chip that doesn't sound like I'm listening to my Walkman circa '94. WP7 > iPhone

I think this phone is more suited to those who just want simplicity. There's alot of people out there that get these high tech phones and don't know how to use them. I have the iPod 4g, so I can benefit from a phone like this.

has anyone gone with this phone? I read that the wf7 links all of your fb contacts and #'s are on the phone. And if one of your friends upload a picture on fb it goes into your phots hub.
Im debating this phone or the i phone 4. I have the iphone 3g. And it is time to get something else.

I don't get it. Phones were HUGE back when, and then they got smaller, now they're getting bigger again. That stupid phone is huge. Probably something you can't fit in your pocket. Not a fan.

people today never give the windows mobile experience a chance. They look at it and interpret it as trash. Now me, I tried windows mobile 6.1 standard and had it upgraded to 6.5, and I love it. I will never switch to another OS based smartphone besides WinMo ever. You never know if you are going to like it if you dont try it. Now Im not saying go out and buy one, but just try a demo of it or something besides looking at it and saying "fuck this, where's my iPhone?"

@mcgiggity69 That's because the Windows Mobile UI was pretty much trash; it was stuck trying to be a desktop experience on a smaller screen, which always produces laughable results. It isn't a matter of "trying it out," it's a matter of logic and intuitive design. Windows Mobile's UI had neither.

@wdililn yes, is hasnt in the past, but does that mean that Microsoft will never learn from their mistakes? WinMo will eventually get better and more user friendly, its just a matter of microsoft pulling their heads out of their asses and giving people what they want. I never meant to say that the past WinMo experience was the best, I was just trying to set an example for people who might want to switch over to WP7 before they just decide to get the android or BB cuz it "makes you fit in"

*sigh* this is all I ever want from a mobile device. I don't get these UIs. I was in love with Pocket PCs when they were new. Smartphone popularity has made them obsolete. I'm still waiting for a phone that has a fully operational OS on it. These phone OS's are so ridiculously proprietary. I don't want to be stuck with such a locked experience. I want my fully operational web browser (java, flash, etc), not apps for each web experience, for example. Fucking consumerists.

@JsemTady I think it depends on the type of tiles that you have pinned on your home screen. If you have most of your "most used" tiles on your home screen then there should be hardly any use of the arrow on the right at all. I think all that does is just take you to everything that you have stored on the phone such as apps and pictures and all of that stuff. Im still not really sure because I have never tried WP7 before and I probably wont for some time cuz my provider is metropcs :P

I love how all the items hang off the screen or protrude from the other pages. It gives it that nice unfinished look.
The animation is the only thing that that's "Ooo." Other than that it's just a cluster of widgets.

@kpatt2006 The great thing about it is it'll be interchangeable to however u want it 2 look w/spb mobile shell & other interfaces so the looks out the box r unimportant BUT, that browser is gonna b terrible & they offer opera but androids browser kills all mobile browsers hands down & that the most important part of a PDA.
