  • @edave08: apparently your definition of middle school is off cause our band is playing it for our anniversary and we are all 12-16 :P

  • its waikiki beach not wikiki

  • Just so you know, there are 2 different arrangements of the Pirates of the Caribbean Score, you are most likely playing the middle school level piece. This is the condensed score from the movie. I've played both and there is NO WAY a middle school band could handle this piece unless you all had been playing since you were 2...not likely.

  • Wow. This band handled playing outside very well. Not many bands can adjust to having a concert outside that isn't marching. Kudos to you guys! To Roswaver and PianoMastah, yeah, a little empty but as you said, it couldn't be helped. That's what I thought when my band preformed it was that it felt like something was missing but in the same situation, we couldn't help that. Having no strings sometimes kills a performance but they did well with it.

  • This is a good performance, but I agree with PianoMastah. Seems a little empty. The movie uses lots of string instruments, along with band instruments. Maybe that's what it needs.

  • wow the first part is really fast...

    That was unexpected :P

This is a really great a performance, however, it does seem to be lacking a number of people, sounds a little empty. I know this isn't their fault, but still, it would help a lot.

  • tuba heavy nice trumpet solo

  • I Have the snare drum's part.

    Ich mache snare drum

Je fais la caisse claire et la grosse caisse dans ce morceau =')

  • Where's that trombone part?! I am playing 1st trombone at my high school and I can't hear it at all! Other than that, it was good.

  • i'm playing the trombone part also, and yea, its kinda in audible here. bad balanceing. one of the other low brass is covering it up.

  • hmm... I'm an 8th grader in a state-wide band (mostly 10th-12th graders) and we just got this piece. Anyone know what level this is? i think my school director said theres levels 1-6, and they increase by 0.5's? Thanks to anyone who helps :)

  • My high school band is playing this piece for a pops concert in two days. It is a grade 4 piece. What state r u from?

  • sorry for the delay, i forgot i commented here. im in Louisiana :)

  • welcome 2 band camp XD

  • its supposed to be fast, its supposed to be like the movie...duh! and i think they did awesome! i wish MY band would play this fast! but were too lazy

  • ya i agree with falloutboysgoril81 u played it WAY to fast at the first part i think it was "the medallion calls"

  • balance... its all about balance. u have alot of good things going on so this comment is going to be nit picky. low brass your sound needs to come out more. watch your pitch u should tune every time before you play. trumpets dont frack your high notes. listen to the others around you and try to balance. i think you could do a little more with dynamics. watch your instructor and really emphasis your dynamics.clarinets rushed before pirate cave and werent playing together. overall good job. =)

  • very well done

    they have great clarity

low brass needs to listen down a bit more, but otherwise, very clean articulation

impressive parts by trumpet as well :D

  • does anybody got music for this?

  • yeah, i got flute, clarinet and trumpet sheets

  • I have the first alto sax part.

  • Uh. Off in some places, but over all it was played really well.

  • good job, i think they played it better than my band. one thing though, your french horn(s) is a little flat on thier dominant parts

    other than that, great job!!

  • good job, i think they played it better than my band. one thing though, your french horn(s) is a little flat on thier dominant parts

    other than that, great job!!

  • at 4:09 was that a Rit. and at 2:20 that was a Andante Cantabile

  • I play this song every day in my school, and I think they sound awesome!!! But I think they could sound better in parts by playing slower. Other than that, they were absolutely AWESOME!!!!! ;-) XD

  • where is the bass?

  • You guys need to listen to eachothers parts.

  • Some parts sound like battlefield!!!

  • the percussion was off in some places. other than that, it was nice. whose arrangement is this?

  • They're rather good i must say, but it lacks bass and percussion. I'm about to play it for a concert but your trumpets do better than us! lol!

  • Very nice..i also play this piece in a band from Portugal :) cheers

  • Wir spielen des auch und bei uns hört sich s viel besser an, scherz... passt scho

Oh yea, not too bad but I think we did a better job, yes maybe, no joke, I m proud of you

    (and of my english knowledge)

  • Ah! How I miss this piece! My band played it once but I must said you guys did a better job! :)

  • oh wow. i love this music, my band played this when i was i the 8th grade we won 1st at state (texas) for middle school performances.
