For me Natal reminds me of what was promised with the PS2 eye toy and well, looked how that panned out. I for one don't think the motion base controller will ever pan out the regular controller. It is not because I think the motion controller is gimmicky, but that the regular controller is just so dam efficient at what it does. I mean, you press a button and you see an action as with the motion controller you have to move your arm around just to get something done.
I totally agree that motion controllers will probably never be the standard form of control. it alienates gamers who are less physically able and so many games are not suited for it. I have to agree that buttons and sticks just simply work the best, tho perhaps there can be times when motion control is just more immerssive or whatever.
You are right. Sony marketing is horrible. Whenever a company makes the best like TVs and they let Samsung beat them, you can see that somebody at Sony fell asleep at the wheel. :-)
That was one long video man, let me put it this way. I do not like motion based controllers, they bore me and my favorite pad is the DualShock, I've been happy with that for the longest. The Ps wand or Spear as you call it by its the prototype name will not change the main stream of releases or the devs main focus when it comes to make games for the Ps3, Natal is a pandora box I hope is filled with fail and the Wii mote is nothing but a successful gimmick to this day. I wish it had failed :(
Yea, it turned out to be a really long video. I was aiming for it to be less than 7 minutes. I guess I failed.
I also just prefer the regular controller over this motion-control craze but I just wanted to talk about how this whole motion control war might play out.
Sphere I think might be the best for core gamers but it'll has the least chance of sucess; Natal has amazing potential but probably wont be for actual gamers like us; and the Wii... I dont wish it failed but it rly needs 2 improve
