  • Although this is a 'spoof' - well done to disko1 for something worth watching AND I like the extra echo on the song!

  • hehehe, it's funny, i like that :)

  • my mum used to call me jenny wren ^_^

  • Actually, this is 1965 footage.

Paul McCartney has an incredibly beautiful voice. He has dulcet tones.

  • Paul McCartney did indeed write this beautiful song. I like the way the 1965 Blackpool footage is used for this 2005 gem.

  • There is no way a young teenager wrote this song period. Highly unlikely that Macca wrote it either.

  • @BushZappa Pfff come on...

  • @BushZappa dude really there's no reason to mention that hear. I'm not saying you're right or wrong, personally idk what's going on with Paul's life (who does, anyhow..) but this video really has nothing to do with that.

  • @BushZappa no. thats a hoax, hes definitely still alive!

  • Nice ! Actually Sir. McCartney's some of masterpieces has a same "gens...." as well as J. Lennon's, Ringo's & Harrison's...they're like their kids...Sir Paul PLEASE STAY ALIVE ! AS LONG AS POSSIBLE . . . PLEASE !

  • Good video, but it's 1965!

  • This video is Yesterday in live?

  • Beautiful song with beautiful lyrics!

  • who is the idiot who says I dont like horrible folks send them to the desert to feel misery.

great brilliant Paul apropos WATCH ANOTHER BRILLIANCE TWO SMALL VIDS / my account! thank you for this disko1

  • who is the idiot who says I dont like horrible folks

    send them to desert

    to feel misery.

    great brilliant Paul

apropos WATCH ANOTHER BRILLIANCE TWO SMALL VIDS / my account!

    thank you for this disko1

  • jesus how can anybody think this is actually him singing jenny wren, it wasn't released til 2005 and he sounds a lot older than he looks in the video anyway

  • good job

  • Well I certainly get where you are coming from with this, if no one else does. A good idea too. With more editing between this footage and inserting other photos and shots you could probably get a good lip synch. This song is actually like Yesterday in places.

  • Loved the idea man! And I am so laughing at those who didn't get it!

  • I thought I heard that song before :-)

  • paul puzza

  • it must take you much time ....

  • Cleverly done! You've added some reverb which makes it tie in with the (old) video better, and in some ways the song now sounds better!

You should have posted this on April 1st!

  • You bunch of dorkwads, how could jenny wren have been written in 2007

when I saw him perform it in concert at the Anaheim pond in 2005!!!!!

    look it up! SKYDOG SKY

  • Jenny Wren was written in Los Angeles, and is about a character of the same name from Charles Dickens' novel Our Mutual Friend. It also refers to an English bird known as the wren, which is reported to be McCartney's favourite. McCartney wrote the tune in the same sort of finger picking style found in "Blackbird", "Mother Nature's Son" (The Beatles) and "Calico Skies" (Flaming Pie). The song earned a nomination for the 2007 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance category.

  • Jenny Wren is a (master)piece of mature man

  • look how young and cute he is!!!!!!!!!!

  • .......nice job.......

  • Jenny Wen was written like2006 or 2007

    somethiing like thaat (:

  • @siemensmobile yesJenny Wren was written in Los Angeles in 2007- this video is a video of paul playing "Yesterday" someone just overdubbed the music onto the video

  • @siemensmobile 2005

  • hahahahaha

    It's Yesterday my friiend

    good jooke...

  • who say that Paul is dead!? he and Ringo Star are alive R.I.P Jhon K.I.A and George K.B.D (Killed By Drogs) (no joke no laught is serious)

  • *sigh* ... that is just his face, man.

  • This belongs to yesterday in a concert in America in 1965 when the other Beatles used to leave Paul alone to perform it (in the 1966 concerts they used to join him with electric guitars and the drums, as it can be seen in the japan concerts)

  • who thought he was dead?

  • looks like yesterday to me

  • I love this song like "Yesterday".. Ah....... Beautiful song.. Make me soft.......

  • I think Douglas Adams, in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, referred to Paul writing another song that bought him another neighbourhood in London, or something to that effect. Jenny Wren is one of those songs. I play this for people on my guitar, and they say 'what's that?' 'McCartney' I answer. It hits them that the old man can still write a song that will move them and make them take note. And they're not really Beatle fans. A great song is a great song. Funny superimposition here, though! lol

  • Aweonao

  • this was for yesterday

  • it's not sync.

  • AT last! This is clear evidence that Paul is Paul and he's not dead! :)

  • @kir2tx

This song sounds like classic Paul, w/ bits of Blackbird, Yesterday, Mother Nature's Son, etc. running though it, harmonically, melodically, stylistically. When I first heard it, I thought it sounded like one from the vault, something Paul may have written early on.

Various sources attribute the date of the writing to 2005. Can you possibly cite a reference for your description of when the song was written? Thanks.

  • @kir3txsbcglobalnet - sorry dude - totally wrong - it was written about the character jenny wren in the novel "Our mutual friend" by Charles Dickens.

  • sorry man -

  • @kir3txsbcglobalnet If you actually believe this story, you are the dumbest person on the face of the earth.

  • @kir3txsbcglobalnet I'm pretty sure it's actually about the character Jenny Wren from Our Mutual Friend...

  • funny

  • Yeah I'm sorry ;o)

  • dude, read the video description!!

    LOL :-)

  • It's a mistake. Jenny Wren was written and performed in 1965, not 1964. Just after Paul was given the goose for singing a certain song called Yesterday. Have you ever heard the latter? It's rare, nobody has sung it ever since...

  • Lol, this was actually the video for Yesterday. he managed to leave not only the audience but the entire world in tears, which is something rarely achieved.

Jenny Wren is the 3rd track on his 2005 album "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard". I know because I have it in 3.2mb/s FLAC lossless and on LP.

  • christ that's alot of reverb.

  • @vulturiel89 he is just so gorgeous

  • @vulturiel89

No argument there. He still is.

  • you cast outs. this is a great suttle song. be a critic if u understand good music

  • It's a great song, but this video looks like Yesterday.

  • I think if Paul McCartney got up on stage and played this instead of Yesterday, WE would know a different world.

    Not fitting for the era.

  • He actually met my parents and he preformed at a concert on my b-day :]

    ~T

  • Jenny Wren é uma releitura de Blackbird.

  • It is really something that Paul can sing like this over 45 years after this old concert. His voice is still very very very good.

  • agreed he has a beautiful voice and he does sow ell live unlike bands today that cant sing for anything.

  • i like it 2

  • God this was stupid.

  • ignore the vid. listen to the amazing powerful voice that we know and love as paul mccartney.

  • Paul is my favorite and most handsome musician ever. clean, gentle and a poet. Long live the King of Pop(ular music). MJ was okay, but Paul is the King.

  • this actually had me fooled

  • Very interesting comparison!

    Good idea and excellent implementation!

    Well done!

    Macca 4 ever!

  • I like it! Good work here! Kinda spooky, but in a good way. :)

  • haha spooky in a good way? haha nice. i like your username too.

  • What's so great about this song is that it would've worked back then, and it works now. He did say it was a throwback to "Blackbird" from '68. It's amazing, whatever it is.

  • I bet he wishes he'd written this song while in the Beatles so more people would have heard it.

  • He's singing "Yesterday". The Jenny Wren track is dubbed on the Yesterday video.

  • Wasn't he angelic looking?

  • oh yea

  • Paul died and came back as a nightengale yeah yeah yeah!

  • Did Paul really die in 1966?

  • ROFLMAO!!

  • Yes he did

  • Why would you say that?

  • This is a video of Yesterday.... He performed it alone like this... plus you can see him picking down up up up... Yesterday for sure

  • You are right! :-)

  • 123strauss : what a beautiful comment. saying...Jenny (wren) is like a breath of pure sweet mountain air, free of the poison.

  • oh it's cool!lolPaul is my hero!

  • What was he actually performing in this video?

  • he was performing Yesterday

  • ...which is the only song where only a single Beatle performed

  • Jenny Wren is an awesome song, Radiohead's "faust arp" kind of reminds me of jenny wren. this song may have been an influence on them, who knows.

very rich chord tones, love it.

  • Don't you now about another video of the early version of this song??? Maybe with Lycris? (withoute screaming XD XD)?? Or can you made it?? PLEASE

I like it so much, specially this early version!!!=)

If no it's not a problem, and...

    ....thankyou for posting this!!!

  • nice work! cool video!

  • NICEEEE!!!!!

  • Suldier shut up, this is real music! Alright vid by the way, you should have put a bit of audience track in the background, but still looks convincing..

  • i didnt know this song waz made in 64

    i like this video...its like a dream..all echoey

  • The song wasn't made in '64 paulmccadorer.

  • when waz it made then?

  • he's singing yesterday not jenny wren

  • This goes to show that Paul's songs have been unfairly criticized in his solo career. For some reason people are just hypercritical of him and have been since the Beatles broke up - but if Jenny Wren was released in '64 with The Beatles, it would have been an instant classic. Paul's still got it and has always had it, it's just the critics that lost it.

  • Wel said superman . You can't lose genius . Jenny Wren is a great song , there's nothing like it in any chart today / Modern music is hellish screaming garbage , computerised drivel , and rap demonism . Jenny is like a breath of pure sweet mountain air , free of the poison that infiltrates every pore of current music . Paul may have had bad taste and judgement in women , but his musical class shines through , even today

  • Okay it's easy to take the video of yesterday to put jenny wren over.

  • cool vid.

  • Oh! I love this song so far and completely long believed this song was a 1964's song but something in the melody after I've listened countless times, called me to check in the encyclopedia then I know that this song was writen and just released in 2005 and nominated to grammy award in 2006 or 07 something. Its very wonderful song. Very impressive song. Thank you, Disco1, I love it.

  • this is amazing !!! can you send me the audio of this video ?? if you it would be so great !!

  • oh i thought he really sang this in 1964 for a second.

i was thinking surly his voice would have aged just a bit

  • YEAH COOL IS THE BEST

  • here he is playing yesterday, not jenny wren thats FAKE

  • O RLY?

    read the video description ;-)

  • LOL Pwn3d.

  • LOL - well done, could've fooled me! The extra echo is a nice touch.

  • Just to add on to my previous comment, yes indeed, it does look like the video is of Yesterday.....plus i didn't think Jenny Wren was that old of a song. But does that mean paul is dead? No...it just means someone screwed around with the video

  • In response to other comments: My god it really is time to quit with this fake paul crap. Really..... think about it. is it likely that there would be someone who could fit that bill?? play all those instruments, left handedly on top of it. fool everyone including his family. walk talk look act sound the same. it is such silly BS and i can't believe people still believe it. Watdh Paul closely.....he is the same man now as he was in 1962.

  • It's young Paul with the actual-age Paul, one more time, we have the prove he is as alive as ALL of us. Thanks Disko.

  • the video is the real Paul Mccartney singing yesterday 1964 but the voice is of Faul Mccartney the imposter.

  • Yep its Faul.

  • agreed

  • This is Yesterday !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hahahahaha you fucking ignorant

    its jenny wren

  • eventhough we know its not the real thing....you can picture it!!!

  • it's yesterday!!!

he wrote jenny wren not log time ago...why did you do it???

  • All you have to do is read his lips and you know its Yesterday....Besides the guitar chords don't jive either.........Nice try

  • this is originally yesterday

  • mhmm Paul is very pretty (as is the song) and is still a bit cute now to be honest =P. Lool at what George said at the beginning. Beatles 4 ever!

  • i wanna marry paul . <3

    this song is beautiful.

  • beautiful song! i cryed when i heard it the first time :D

  • great job man. Good idea and well put together

  • He is so freaking sexy! I hope I can find a Paul McCartney look -a-like to marry!

  • paul is drop-dead gorgeous!

  • SO FREAKING TRUE HES HOT!!!!!!

  • OMG that is sooooooo freakin true!!!! paul is smexy and just so gorgeous!!!! love him!!! :)

  • he wrote this in like the 90's....

  • In this video Paul sang Yesterday. Dont see the point of showing him sing Jenny Wren. Yesterday was important as musically The Beatles had moved on as can be seen that this song couldnt really be performed in front of screaming kids

  • Yeah this doesnt make much sense lol ....

  • He has such a BEAUTIFUL voice!!

    THANKS for posting!! :]
