I think Douglas Adams, in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, referred to Paul writing another song that bought him another neighbourhood in London, or something to that effect. Jenny Wren is one of those songs. I play this for people on my guitar, and they say 'what's that?' 'McCartney' I answer. It's a mistake. Jenny Wren was written and performed in 1965, not 1964. Just after Paul was given the goose for singing a certain song called Yesterday. Have you ever heard the latter? It's rare, nobody has sung it ever since...

For some reason people are just hypercritical of him and have been since the Beatles broke up - but if Jenny Wren was released in '64 with The Beatles, it would have been an instant classic.
