How to Audition for Broadway : How to Prepare a Broadway Audition Songbook

Hi, can you please help me pick out an up tempo song? I am trying to audition for Little Shop of Horrors and they want me to prepare one ballad and one up tempo song 16-32 bars and a comedic monologue, this is actually my first Musical Theater Audition, i would really appreciate it if you can help me. You should never put your music in those shiny plastic holders. It drives pianists crazy, because it can create glare when lights shine on it a certain way.

Um.... one more piece of advice:

Never do anything done in the last five years or from the last five years. By singing songs that were just on broadway, or even worse, currently on broadway, you're setting yourself up for failure by comparing yourself to the broadway star who sings it. It's better to be original and have a book full of great songs from the past.
