OMG! Everytime I ask people "do you remember the Letter People" they think I'm crazy! I distinctly could remember that intro song, so I know I didn't imagine this! I thought I was the only one who remembered this!
one of the teachers at the school my mom taught at had ALL the inflatable Letter People and would hang them up every year. I think she still has them actually
whoa memories come flooding back! I used to watch this when I was like 5 or 6 or so. Me and my daddy would watch it together if I was home from school or something. Miss this show and my beloved father. Miss you, daddy!
The moment I first heard his song, I immediately recognized it as similar to the Letter People song. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's noticed this. You can sing the letter people theme to the chorus of "Follow Me" and it matches up perfectly.
THANK YOU! For years, "Follow Me" haunted me (not that I listen to it voluntarily), and I could never figure out why. I made the connection just tonight, searched 'letter people uncle kracker', and found your comment. I'm glad I'm not crazy.
lol hell yea! I joined the Army 10 years ago, and ask people about the stuff back in the day and everyone looks at me like im crazy when i tell them about the letter people!
This takes me back. I am Ms. A. I don't remember why, but in kindergarten that's what I wanted to be in the school play. My teacher made me act as Mr. Q for "quiet". I guess she was trying to tell me something. I was mad.
this is a true classic!! I never missed an episode of this show..wish it was still shown on PBS...I miss watching the instructional programming during the day...awesome find!!
this was the show..i ride threw the sky on that bright light way up high on a clear night you might see me im not i dipper or a saucer or mars im a star ima lucky star
Ahh, the memories of Ms. Anselmo's kindergarten class back in the day. I've always thought whoever performed the intro music was tripping on acid, haha. "Words are made of letter people."
I remember in preschool (ork kindergarden) we had homework assignments that went along with these guys. I thought Mr V was a dick with his swav vest n shit and wanted revenge on Mr.B and Mr.Z for ruining it. I remember some of the stuff like it was yester day *wipes tear from eye* best times of my life
I have been fascinated with this show since i watched it as a kid. When the internet came along, i searched and searched for them but found nothing. I actually found the entire series on DVD + song CD on eBay. My girlfriend is 25 also but she had never heard of them so i thought she might dig them. This weekend i watched the Mr. K episode on acid and that kazoo sound was very disturbing. if i knew how to transfer DVD to FLV i would post, but i have a crappy computer.
i remember when in the 1st grade i was punished for not finishing my work so i had to sit with the teacher in the back of the room and do it. she'd turn on the letter people and i'd peek my head over the wall on the desk and watch some of it when she wasn't paying attention.
OH MY GOD!!! I have been trying to remember the name of/see this show for about 15 years now. I'm not even kidding. PLEASE post more, if you have more. I need it so bad.
I was beginning to think I was the only one who rememberd The Letter People. I'm 27 and I would watch that show religiously on PBS as a kid in the 80's. The intro song was stuck in my head all these year... till now...on YouTube. Wow, what an age we live in. I guess now I have to search for the Nickelodeon clips of Pinwheel and Maya the Bee. LOL!!
OMG! The last time I saw this show was when I was in the kindergarten. That was like back in 1986. My favorite was Mr.M with the munching mouth. I also remember Ms.A with Achooo song.
i havent seen the letter people since kindergarten...i belive that was in 1996...i love the letter people but mr m alwys kinda scared me i still have one of my coloring sheets with mr m on it
This is such an excellent show...it really does do quite a lot to teach children the sounds of letters while entertaining them. The kindergarten teacher I had still works, and still uses the Letter People to teach. I remember having fun with the letters and with Mrs. Irvin, she was my favorite teacher in the whole world!
I Always Loved watching this everytime it came on in at my first home:3 Takes me back to my childhood .. To bad Kids dont have this now :/
