  • good one very informative. keep sharing stuff like that

  • thank that was really useful 2 me.

  • To me it says "server name is invalid" when I start synergy?

  • what connection is being used between the two computers? Lan Cable. Wifi, Blutooth? and is there any settings to it ?

  • Can you use a dual monitor setup for both machines using the same monitors on both machines? I have 2 monitors, 2 pcs, 2 mice, 2 keyboards. Currently, both pcs can use both monitors (I have to switch the input on the monitors). Most often, I use one pc with dual monitors. I still want that capability, but I'd like to also be able to have one monitor with one pc so that I can use both pcs simultaneously, too. Is there a way that Synergy can support what I want to use it for? Make sense?

  • does it need to be running or does it go down to task bar

  • you can also use Input director, i found it easier to setup, but that is only if you have 2 windows computers

  • cheers mate!! that was very useful :D

  • bitch u aint told me shit

  • i keep getting error when i run test, it says:

"failed to connect to server: the attept to connect was forcefully rejected

    stop client"

  • I had a dirty thought with the title

    2 computers 1 keyboard & mouse? what else has 2 ***** 1*** as a title...

    lolz

  • @Zaroon115 2 girls 1 cup. that wasnt hard to type right?

  • @890705123 I know... I was just seeing if anyone else got it, and you did

  • It works..you're simply the best.

  • from my understanding one of your computers has to be hooked up to a router. but i dont have a router in my room because i am on a wireless connection is there any way it can be done?

  • does this work if you have 2 monitors set up on your host?

  • Yes, it does

  • it deosnt work for me.. i have done what u exactly have.. and i also wacthed another video shwoing how to cinfigure by ip.. and it still deonst work...plzzzzzz help..

  • the same thing is happening to my but it just wont work

  • could i connect a mac and a pc

  • @x66rubixmonster66x yes u can. theres tons of vids how, the one by CNet is good.

  • yes

  • Question: my computers are connected over a second router( this second connected to a first router which via cable) --> my client computer says connected to ip address but my server says : waiting for clients ...why arent they connecting properly does anyone know ?

  • nice program if you dont wanna buy a good KVM switch.

  • lol i knew this already. actually i was watching this vid with my big monitor and not the the laptop monitor... but i did it in a other way. than ur doing it. but same effect

  • thank you!

i have 2 desktops on my desk and i didn't know tht do do with the seccond one, now i know :)

  • That opening is far too long.

  • wow this works really well. I thought there would be lag over wifi but there is none.

  • dude this is awesome 5 stars thinks so much

  • hey we have the same acer laptop

  • I have both Server and Client connected. Can't find in any forums why the mouse and keyboard isn't moving from the server to client and client to server. The reason why? Well I have as my server: Windows XP and as my client: Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron with Wine, and Samba is installed for it to both work. What I did is put the windows application of .exe in Ubuntu under wine its connected both on the Server and Client. But, I can't move the mouse or keyboard in my server!!!

  • Do I need a USB Keyboard and mouse or can it work with the wired keyboard and mouse? It's getting kinda annoying switching back and forth my mouse and keyboard to the back of both my computers!

  • If you combine Synergy with a program called BeyondCopy (clipboard sharing over network) you get the perfect combination.

  • Thanks your video helped!

  • Works great, thank you. There is a little problem I have though. I am able to switch from the host to the client, but I can't switch back for some reason. How do I configure this? Or how did you do it?

  • You need to tell synergy that the host computer is to the right (or left) of the client and that the client is to the left (or right) of the host.

    Hope this helps.

  • Yup, I figured it out myself after watching the video the second time. =)

  • oh my god. i actually love you. well not really but you know what i mean,. it works.. horrray. =] thanks soooo much

  • do i install the syng thing on 2 both computers?

  • you think thats cool i have 5 monitors running of a coolic system clocked out

  • can i use my wifi Cable laptop with my DSL desktop on 2 different internet connections??

  • I would like to know why my cursor is lags when going to my client computer. I have a full connection between my desktop and my netbook. My desktop (the host) runs XP SP2 and my netbook (the client) runs XP SP3. The cursor runs nice and smooth until it crosses over to the netbook, where it lags. But if I move the cursor on my netbook with the touchpad, it's smooth again untill I use the mouse from my desktop. What's causing this?

  • why it doesn't work between vista and xp

  • So is it possible to do this with one windows computer one Ubuntu and one Fedora? or do you have to have all the same os?

  • They can uuse different os, im using Windows Vista and Kubuntu Linux :)

  • can you drag and drop files from one computer screen to another? If so, I'm not able to...it's not letting me.

I'm not sure if this programs lets you do that or not....I figured, i'd ask....Please respond soon

  • how do i do so the mouse can get back to screen?

cuz i cant drag it back`??

  • from what i've read you have to make sure that when you specify where each monitor is in relation to the other, u have to configure BOTH mons. meaning screen 1 is left of screen 2 but also screen 2 is right of screen 1. apparently u have to specify both.. hope it helps

  • thanks =)

  • thx that hellped me to :D

  • Im going to see if i can use it vid Mac - PC, it says you can but i was reconfiguring some sharing setting on xp to reduce the RAM usange so i may have to reinstall windows to fix it :/.

  • Wow thanks Duncan, this makes it so much easier and I don't have to use them crappy touch pad things.

  • Can you just have 2 screens on one pc and keep this working? Just wondering.

  • u don't need synergy for that if ur running windows, it supports two monitors

  • this isnt two monitors, its two computers

  • yeh, i mean windows can support 2 monitors. You need synergy to use 2 computers

  • Hi duncan. i use a wire network and i wonder if i only do this on "this" computer and not the second can i go there with the mouse and so on. if so isnt that realy easy to "hack" in the second computer? and all other computer on my network?

  • you only allow the users in the "screens"

  • what file format do you downlod the file in

  • How do i get a computer's IP address?

  • start->run->type "cmd"->type "ipconfig", ;)
