In order: Dave Dobbyn, Billy T James, Tim Finn, Bunny Walters, Barry Crump, Annie Crummer, Hammond Gamble with Beaver, John Hore Grenell and Suzanne Prentice, Satellite Spies, Sonny Day and Jacqui Fitzgerald, Ray Woolf and Suzie Lynch. Celebrities in choir include Precious McKenzie, Dougal Stevenson, Peter Williams, Graham Lowe, Gray Bartlett, Roger Gascoigne, Ian Fergusson, Jeremy Coney, Keith Quinn.
Every time i see this makes me cry for alot of reasons, my grandmother use to sing this and of cos alot of our old tv news announcers and all those whom passed on RIP to u and Billy T u will always be in our hearts and always be chearished
Wow, so good to see many of the old celebrities in their prime and in one space. Reminds us that we are altogether on this great waka called New Zealand. Just hoping some one will come soon and direct this waka to better places in lieu of people jumping off and onto the Aussie boat. C'mon Kiwi c'mon is another chant from the days to get us fired up. I wonder what became of Precious 'bend your knees' McKenzie? R.I.P Billy T James, Barry Crump, and Beaver
The nadir of NZ - while Band Aid and USA For Africa raised money for those starving in Africa, good ole NZ raised money to enter a richboy yacht race.
And we fill our musical ensemble with sports players, news readers and even Barry Crump? WTF...
OMG! what memories this brings back, i was in this video :) they took kids from parnell primary for it. Got so many autographs, never forget the experiance.
'I remember the words " ... on the waters of New Zealand ... " I searched long and hard for the longer version but have never been able to find it. The imagery/sentiments are just lovely.
For your info this was the longest standing song that held the number 1 single spot until recently. It held it for 8 weeks and that was only taken over by smashproof - brother which has been at number one for 9 weeks as of today
A true kiwi song!!! Makes me proud to be a kiwi/new zealander!!
