I think FTF and SF were sort of Alice's answer to David Bowie's Low, Heros and Scary Monsters albums ( remember that they were kind'a competing with each other back then ? ).
how is pain not alice, listen to the lyics it's pure alice. and special forces is a great album, how can you call yourself alice fans if you say aload of his albums like pretties for you, all his albums are great
I recently bought Special Forces on vinyl and that was the first time i heard the album. I must say i liked it very much. Very underrated album. Hearing it on vinyl is much better than the digital qualities.
I think you guys could have at least given special forces a better run through, than just tossing it out the way you did, true it's no killer, or love it to death, but I like it for being so out there, and isn't that what attracts us to Alice anyway? his strangeness, oh and prettiest cop on the block is my fav off of sp.
My least favorite cooper era, I think special forces was better than flush the fashion though, "You Look Good In Rags" "Who Do You Think We Are" and "Don't Talk Old To Me" are good songs in my humble opinion. But I agree that his early 80's work was just not "alice" but I LOVE the album "Dada"
Flush The Fashion has the classics of Clones cover,Pain and Grim Facts.Nothing More.
Special Forces has Generation Landslide 81,Don't Talk Old To Me,You're A Movie and especially Skeletons In The Closet and You Look Good In Rags.

Special Forces was awesome I thought it was better than Zipper Cathes Skin though I would say Dada was the best of those early 80's albums.

I don't think alice has ever done a bad album.
I'm not overly keen on lace and whiskey but its still got good moments
