In my opinion Stephen King is one of the greatest literary geniuses of the modern era. the mini series was grossly disappointing in comparison to the literary work. Most of my favorite parts was not in the movie or they was absolutely butchered the worst part was the theme of the book or the main plot was completely changed in the show.

I've read a few of the Critic's reviews about this series and they were not very complementary - just goes to show you the critics can only tell you what they like or do not like - perhaps that is why nobody ever made a statue in honor of a critic - Critics are useless as a fart in the wind. I enjoyed watching this 2 part series! I always admired Stephen King, and I'm glad to finally see there are still eye catching flicks to keep you at the edge of your seat. Pierce Brosnan was excellent, and how cute was little Kyra Devore (Caitlin Carmichael)?! She's looks to be a promising actress! In the book Johanna Noonan dies from a brain annyerism after going to get a pregnancy test at a drug store (her husband Mike doesn't know she's pregnant), outside. In the movie she dies from getting hit by a bus while Mike is at a book signing. I HATE how they change things from book to movie. Even little things like that. I'm reading the book right now, and I'm going to watch the mini-series.....hopefully I am not disappointed. :(
