This little comment made me think about the relation between being sexy and being anti-social/aggressive. In 1941, in times of war, people saw aggression a lot, so childlike niceness was more popular than now-a-days where people adore pimps and tough guys (out of boredom ?)...

@brassens66 - an interesting observation. I lol'd because it's so unlike me to say stuff like that :) and I take pleasure in liking guys from black and white films because the popular fellows of nowadays haven't got much appeal for me - nor have many popular male types since then. Society is strange, no? The general opinion changes so drastically, and there are always those who think the opposite just to be contrary. I tend towards the latter, but [try] to be neither - rather, to use judgment.

A very worthy observation. One does not expect much intelect online, or at least not on youtube :) I lol'd because it's so unlike me to say stuff like that, haha! I'm a lot more likely to be attracted to guys in old movies than ones from most current media. Do you speak French?

Tu as raison, Trenet est simplement incroyable, ses chansons expriment un goût et un amour extraordinaire pour la vie... juste comme "la mer" qui a bercé son coeur.

J'aime beaucoup de chanteurs francais, mais Charles Trenet est mon coup de coeur! Il est si doue... je suis toujours impressionne par sa musique. =)
