the controls, albeit, did take me a bit of getting used to, but once i got the hang of it i was able to do pretty good speed runs, and i was only about...11 or 12 at the time. HOWEVER, saying that the controls are such a detriment to a game that has a great story and a nice cinematic appeal is just absurd. This wasnt designed to be a run and gun type game, as i hope you already know. Meanwhile, MGS4 has 'superior" controls, but its because it didnt force you to play it mainly stealth-oriented.

He's literally playing as reckless as possible. You can't bulldoze through MGS. You will die because you cannot take on several guys at once which he keeps doing. It's like watching someone play an FPS, point a rocket launcher at their and fire then wonder why they're dying.

It's a type of alginate dressing, that gels blood and other fluid on contact. The colloid gels to produce a moist condition for speeding up the healing process. It releases calcium ions during absorption, hence the coagulating effect. The bumping into someone is simply emphasizing the fact that they have seen through your disguise, to a literal point.

The problem is Phil literally can't stop talking in order to create an entertaining viewing experience for us, the viewers. Half the time this is great, but all video games are fundamentally frustrating at some point, and Phil's commentary is reflective of what he's experiencing at the current time in the game. Phil has never played a Metal Gear game and therefore lacks knowledge of what some consider to be fundamental rules the game never explicitly explains. In a word, relax. He will get it.

Phil, when you first have a competent understanding of the controls.... you can then criticise the controls. Yes, the controls haven't aged well; but you are using a fraction of the options available and making bad decisions with them.

For 30 parts there have been comments on what to do to play the game properly and how to use the controls and the game to your advantage. There is nothing stopping you from taking a few minutes out to read them if the experience is being spoiled.

the control is good Phil and is one of the better control schemes out for games of that time. The control isn't the problem. There are certain elements of the game that you aren't picking up on that you should of been aware of within 20 mins of play

if you're bleeding out of your ass, even if you're disguised, the guards are going to pick up on that.

Your M9 is a Tranq Gun, any weapon that is blue means "non lethal" so use it and start using first person mode to aim, take them out from far away

Phil, if you're bleeding and out of bandages, find a quiet corner somewhere and crouch. You'll slowly regain health, and eventually you will stop bleeding. What's more, the same trick will work in MGS3 and Peace Walker should you choose to play it.

@NeoSZboy Although Phil does do a lot of rather dumb things, the controls ARE pretty damn awkward in MGS2 and MGS3. Especially since in MGS2 and forward it started differing from how hard you were pressing the buttons (such as holding a button to aim, then press down hard and release to fire, dumb). I have completed Metal Gear Solid from one to three however, and i by no means think MGS2 was the easiest (that title goes to MGS). Hell, i almost think MGS2 is the hardest.
