you should start the motor every 2-3 weeks to run a little in idle.if you leave it so long without starting it ....bad for the engine....its like you put a person in the bed for 5 months and then you tell him...hey get up and start running....i think he will fall down

@christofer128 Ideally the plugs should be pulled and a little bit of foamy oily stuff shot into the cylinders for a long term layoff....three or four months in my case. OK, I don't do that. One could argue that starting a bike once every two weeks might be worse. First you'd be starting at ridiculously cold temps. That's never good. Then you'd have to run it to warm everything up. Snows too deep. I think I'm probably doing the least harm by just leaving it alone.

Future wife has an FZ6, and she gave you one too?? Marry her immediately before somebody takes her away! That didn't look like factory paint...it was kinda silver. Plus it had aftermarket pipes...I could tell the minute you started. What year? New or used?

Get a bettery tender and you won't have to remove the battery in winter. Leads connect to the battery with a quick connect to the tender & you can have it charging anytime you like.

The bike gets stored in a ridiculously cold garage without electricity. So I haul out the battery and bring it inside for the winter....and it gets the Battery Tender massage all winter.
