When I was there everyone had a huge chainsaw. The lack of water is due to the fact that they have cut down too many large trees. They export bowls for kava. I met only one guy in lomati who said it was bad. The best kava bowls come from Kabara. They are going to end up like Easter Island. I went there to surf but there were no spots. Spent 2 months hanging out. The people of lomati were very nice to me.
I am originally from Fiji and my village is being eaten away by the rising tides. Our old house is now the shoreline, 20 years ago when I was a child it was a 100 feet away from the shores.
btw - they didn't do a good job at translating a lot of things said were left out.
hmmm...i also suggest that the people of the global north who are the biggest polluters and emitters of greenhouse gases, raise their voices in solidarity with those of us in small island nations, and remove with people-power those leaders of states and private corporations who will not see what this does to our planet!

I suggest that the Kabarans try building artificial reefs made of natural, non-toxic materials (like wood, shells, or rocks) to attract more fish.
