I have an SD-1 and I run it in front of my Randall RG100 ES ('87 version) with Seymour Duncan Blackouts. I'm thinking about getting the Bad Monkey because I think it gives more of a tube like sound to the amp. You said that the SD-1 was tighter. I use an ISP noise gate to tighten the OD from the SD-1. If I do this to the Bad Monkey, will it give me a tighter sound as well? (I like my sound like I like my women, nice and tight lol)
I like the Obama BYO pedal. If you start screwing up it will bail you out. Mess up more and it bails you out again. Mess up a third time and kicks you in the balls and boots your butt off the stage.

I think clean, the Bad Monkey sounds better. But the Boss SD-1 did a nice job boosting your gain channel.

Bad monkey is the best boost pedal, it does not squash your drive. I love it. I have one. I have tried a bunch others but this one fits for me.

The Boss sounds tighter than the Monkey, I like both, but I like the Monkey more if it comes to slower heavy riffs :)
