How do you get a hard edge when painting inside the circle? I used soft round 300 brush but get soft outer edge creating a fuzzy ball ruining the effect. Please advise. Thanks.
@tessalia87 In a blank layer use the circle select tool to select a circle, if you hold the shift key, it makes a perfect circle.
If you have already cut out a circle from the background layer onto a new layer, hover the pointer over that layer thumbnail, and apple-key/click and it will make an exact selection of that circle, just make sure you're in the new blank layer before painting. Since I'm making several layers for the effect that all have to match each other, I use this method often.
It seems that your selection is "Feathering". This is default set at 0 feathering, but yours may have been changed.
After you click the circle selection tool, before you draw the circle, look at the top left hand side of the screen. There is a box that's labeled "Feather". It should have a value of 0.
dude could u please talk, instruct what you are doing?... i mean im so freaking lost man... i got hafl way through u go so fast dont know half of the stuff u doing there
I hear ya, click on the link on the bottom of the video, or visit my youtube page to see another, better version of how to make a glass sphere. The newer version is just as fast but I have included annotated tags to show every step by step. Also, the newer version has a more realistic glass distortion effect that makes the process more useful in different situations. As far as the speed, I just didn't want the video to drag.
If you get stuck on any steps just drop me a note.
Check out the newer video I did, it has better glass distortion, I never liked the "Spherize" filter, it was to clean, not like a real solid glass ball.
