What exactly is the point of Death and Rebirth? Anything important or is it just a series-compressed-into-movie type thing with End of Evangelion as the sequel?

@TheNexus18 Death is just a hour long summary of the first 24 episodes, the plot isn't completely linear and just hits the highlights. Rebirth is just a unfinished EoE (I think it's only the very beginning of it though). I've never watched Rebirth, hard to find and EoE is just the finished product so I didn't see much of a need. Alot of it was to help Gainax make more money to finish out EoE though. Also, a lot of the directors cuts from the show are from clips from Death.

In the end it's about the way you face life; you can't run from reality cause it hurts and get into yourself; you can't be a god and spect that everything will be like you want it, you have to face life with all the good and bad and it's up to you how to take the things, you can be happy or get close, it's up to you. It's about that, but Hideaki Anno used a lot of simbolism, religious, psychological (specially Freud)...

2.- Do you remember the first fight with and angel? when it kills itself trapping sinji? remember that cross?

3.- A theory is that only they survived to create humanity again, but sinji just wants to end with everything :O he had other hallucinations of him killing asuka in the last episode, the very last one.

i don't know why, but domestic distributors don't know how to make good movie trailer. They just throw in random action scenes with a theme music w/o consideration. That's why I stopped watching domestic anime DVD trailers.
