They use spray cans most prominently in the series, I wonder why? probably the easiest and relatively effective way to paint such a model.

@bttfspencer @bttfspencer These guys tend to use fine airbrushes like Iwata Custom which can't produce a very wide pattern so it would take a while to coat an entire model. With 1/48 and larger scales they use, it would also take many airbrush refills of paint. A rattlecan is a timesaver although it tends to produce a very uneven surface due to large paint droplet size.

Tristar Model Company is a Hong Kong model company. Another Hong Kong model company is called Dragon Models Limited. Both are renounced in producing detailed military models, which have much more small detailed metal parts (photo-etched parts) than Tamiya and Hasegawa models.
