It being discontinued has nothing to do with respect. It won 2003 compact of the year over the WRX and many solid cars. It holds the top speed record for ANY 4 banger. I highly doubt you own both... An srt4 will smoke an evo stock for stock from a roll. I have a 3000gt vr4 which smokes evos and it is stock, but from a roll I cannot pull away from a stock srt4.
Well for half the price of an EVO, the SRT-4 can beat it from roll. The only reason why EVOs jump out so quick from a launch is because of AWD. And you shouldn't talk because you own a Tsi, AMS or not, it's still an Eagle.

That evo driver can't drive.. With a launch and run like that, he's sure to be running close to mid 14's instead of mid 13's. I remember one time I bogged pretty bad on launch and ran a 14.5. This race should've been a close race from the start to end. A srt4 is a nice car/cheap too no doubt but it shouldnt be able to pull that hard on a evo. Even if an evo doesn't launch perfect, it should still be able to run high 13's/low14's. Srt4's run low 14's stock. All on da driver!

That's true. AWD means you get out fast but then the car has to divide the horsepower into 4 wheels and that's when the FWD or RWD cars have the advantage. EVOs are great cars on track but if a drag strip is long enough, eventually the SRT-4 will pass it. Or a better SRT-4 driver could beat a EVO if he launches right.

Personally, I don't have the money to buy a $35,000 EVO or STI and if I did have $35,000 I wouldn't spend it on a Mitsubishi or Subaru, I'd buy an Audi or BMW. Technically, a stock Evo should always lose to a stock SRT-4 on the same tires given that both are driven perfectly.
Evo's lose a lot of hp to transmission making them have a good 20-30hp more than the SRT-4. But the 20-30hp advantage in the Evo won't make up for the approx 300lbs to beat the SRT-4.
Now if you play in the driver factor, the driver in the SRT-4 who can't launch will lose. But if the driver can launch well, the Evo will lose.

I think there's about 50HP difference in the cars.. but about 400pounds too... evo's aren't light cars like the SRT.. (which weighs in at about 2800lbs as apposed to the 3200lbs evo) oh and another note.. AWD is NOT designed for Drag.. just so you know. techically a FWD will pull better than AWD if you know how to drive.

the evo in the clip is an evo 9 not an evo 3 and the 0-60 time for the stock evo 9 is 4.5 secs, the srt-4 isnt even close, 5.3 so thats a little more than a few tenths, try 8/10 of a sec
Ive run several SRT-4s in my EVO VIII. And Let me tell you, SRT-4s are fast. But I've never lost to a stocker SRT. That being said, if either of these cars were tuned you would hear the exhaust/Blow off valves etc. This is pure driving. Props to Lulu. Boo on the Evo driver. :/

Well for half the price of an EVO, the SRT-4 can beat it from roll. The only reason why EVOs jump out so quick from a launch is because of AWD. And you shouldn't talk because you own a Tsi, AMS or not, it's still an Eagle.

Hey I own an EVO 9 MR and an SRT-4 ACR and stock for stock they are pretty damn close because obviously most people dont understand the power to weight ratio, or the fact that the evo loses so much power through the awd trans, Dont get me wrong I still like the Evo more because It has a higher potential for Power but Most people under estimate the SRT-4 just based sololy on It's looks.which dont mean shit if your serious about power.

AMEN. I am so sick of evo owners saying that their cars have more horsepower than srt4's. Mitsubishi rates the evo's horsepower from the crank, not the wheels. Dodge rates the srt4 at the wheels, so in essence both cars have right around the same amount of hp.

That evo driver can't drive.. With a launch and run like that, he's sure to be running close to mid 14's instead of mid 13's. I remember one time I bogged pretty bad on launch and ran a 14.5. This race should've been a close race from the start to end. A srt4 is a nice car/cheap too no doubt but it shouldnt be able to pull that hard on a evo. Even if an evo doesn't launch perfect, it should still be able to run high 13's/low14's. Srt4's run low 14's stock. All on da driver!

You do know that a EVO isn't that much faster than a SRT-4 right? Those cars are highly over-rated while SRT-4s are highly under-rated. It's a good car, don't get me wrong but it 1/4 miles in 13.4 seconds. And SRT-4's 1/4 mile is 13.8. Look it up for yourself if you don't believe me. EVOs wasn't built for drag racing, just rallying. SRT-4s were built for drag racing. A better driver could beat an EVO so slightly modded an SRT-4 would win. EVOs has a better advantage at rallying.

That's true. AWD means you get out fast but then the car has to divide the horsepower into 4 wheels and that's when the FWD or RWD cars have the advantage. EVOs are great cars on track but if a drag strip is long enough, eventually the SRT-4 will pass it. Or a better SRT-4 driver could beat a EVO if he launches right.

Personally, I don't have the money to buy a $35,000 EVO or STI and if I did have $35,000 I wouldn't spend it on a Mitsubishi or Subaru, I'd buy an Audi or BMW. Technically, a stock Evo should always lose to a stock SRT-4 on the same tires given that both are driven perfectly.
Evo's lose a lot of hp to transmission making them have a good 20-30hp more than the SRT-4. But the 20-30hp advantage in the Evo won't make up for the approx 300lbs to beat the SRT-4.
Now if you play in the driver factor, the driver in the SRT-4 who can't launch will lose. But if the driver can launch well, the Evo will lose.

I have an 05 SRT-4 stock w/ exception of Blow-off..
I beat an Evo VIII a couple weeks ago.. guy knew how to drive.. close race though..
I think there's about 50HP difference in the cars.. but about 400pounds too... evo's aren't light cars like the SRT.. (which weighs in at about 2800lbs as apposed to the 3200lbs evo) oh and another note.. AWD is NOT designed for Drag.. just so you know. techically a FWD will pull better than AWD if you know how to drive.

Ive run several SRT-4s in my EVO VIII. And Let me tell you, SRT-4s are fast. But I've never lost to a stocker SRT. That being said, if either of these cars were tuned you would hear the exhaust/Blow off valves etc. This is pure driving. Props to Lulu. Boo on the Evo driver. :/

That driver sucks ass! but i know for a fact this srt isnt stock no fucking way, i've taken on some evos and won some and lossed some but even i dont have the power to take off like that from a stop evos and sti's usually got the upperhand

evos are nice bet i have yet to lose to one. i have an 04 srt, on stock turbo w/ some bolt ons i was taking evos from a 30 roll by about 2 cars (EVO IX MR) but i couldnt get him from a dig cuz i didnt have the top end to catch up. now i have a 30R and i pull on evos even from a dig, im running 23psi...i love both cars dont get me wrong, but an srt CAN beat an evo..this is a debate that will go on forver, ive seen srts lose to evo and ive seen evos lose to srts.

i have to admit to what you are saying. i love evos but srt-4's can actually keep with it or beat it. if either or gets mod they will be faster than what they are. i like srt-4's but i prefer the evo over it

the srt4 was fixed up pretty good, or the evo driver just sucks, but i doubt it, & i bet the Evo was all stock, may be just a intake on stock boost & the SRT4 had a lot of upgrades, cause theres no way a stock SRT4 can take an Evo from a stop

All of those that say an SRT-4 cant beat an EVO well what the hell did you all see? EVO's SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give it up you all know SRT-4s can rock your ass all day, that is why you all have to come up with some stupid ass comments!

yea that most certainly will beat an srt-4, although you guys need to consider weight to speed ratios and evos weigh around 3800lbs srt-4's weigh around 3000lbs BIG difference in torque. I own my own race team and shop.

ok I'm reading what it says below and I'm think wtf. my friend has a normal neon with a supercharger and he beats Evos by 4 lengths and SRT4 beats his car so idk what your all smoking but none of your Evos can beat SRT4's
