  • I couldn't sleep last night after a day of listening to Boston. The nostalgia was overpowering. I couldn't get Brad Delp out of my mind. His spirit became mingled with that of my friend Rex Denlar who is also on the other side. How can I get this haunting music out of my head? It's there every minute and I can't turn it off! "Don't Look Back," my head keeps telling me. Let the dead be with the dead and the past with the past. Live now! Live now! But I can't stop the music or the crying.

  • Great trib to one of Rocks greatest singers of all time,RIP Mr Brad!! Thanks for a wonderful video Rod!!!

  • Love this song. The end of this tune sounds like 2 guitars fighting. You gotta love it. And Brad's vocals will live on.

  • @arock75, my sentiments as well, I know its a studio version unfortunately I never saw Boston live, did they do this solo as a duet live as the studio version suggests? this song is prolly one of my all time favorites in all respects, for me it progresses as it graduates

  • Brad passed very, very sadly on my birthday.

  • One of my top 10 rock bands.

  • BEST GUITAR SOLOS EVER

  • I LOVE this video that you made up!! If Brad was still here, I'm sure he'd like it as well!! Maybe there's a computer in heaven and he can watch this!! He just loves it as much as I do!! Keep up the good work!!

  • This song has a quality to it that isn't found in a lot of music. It's by far one of my favorite Boston songs.

  • Honestly, after years of listening to all the great bands and rock songs of the '60s and '70s and just soaking up all the great music, this song has always stuck out as my favorite and probably could never be surpassed. This song just takes me somewhere in my mind every time, I can't explain where, but it just does! I wish this song wasn't as underrated, but it will always stick out to me as the best song. And Boston isn't even my favorite band but DEFINITELY top 10 for me.

  • I takes a really great band to make such timeless music on their first album. The occassional heroin addict will make a one hit wonder, but these guys have a formula that will last forever.

  • my favorite guitar solo ever.. mmmm that was a tasty jam

  • Me and my favorite girl were driving up the hill to Jerome, Az, there was snow on the ground and it was two days before Christmas 2007 when I first really listened to this awesome song. The intro never fails to remind me of the best weekend ever...

  • These guitar parts always make my soul smile.

  • One of my favorite songs!

And one of the best songs ever made!!

    God, what a positive vibe!!!

    Boston thank you!!!!

    And I'm from New York!!!!!

  • They were performing for a very long time before they made it big BOSTON. Get something straight. They were playing in a lot of places so they weren't all that suspect to being big. They played out the record industry back then big time and were getting hassled by the music industry if I didn't get that then please send me a message because your oversight is really awful and I don't think you know what you are talking about. Stuck on Pink Floyd>? \

  • At 2:30 starts one of the best guitar solos ever played on a electric guitar,,, it gives me chills every time I hear it,,, thanks for posting!!!!

  • I listen to this song 20 times a week at my desk. That guitar duet never fails to just move me. Just reaches inside and tweaks the ole rock n roll button!! I forgive you Brad. I think God should too!!

  • See you on the other side Brad!!!

  • Like Zepplin before them Boston's first album was a monster that let the world know that rock and roll rules . . . . RIP Brad , you will be sorely missed but not forgotten . . . .

  • Depression is a mental illness and has nothing to do with being bummed out about any aspect of life. It's a horrible burden to bear, which many people deal with by entertaining others. Odds are that the most entertaining person you know is also, on the inside, the saddest person you know. Rest in peace, Brad.

  • I was lucky enough to listen to this on vinyl when it first came out in 76. While everyone was running to More than a feeling and all the other big tracks i found Hitch a ride and fell in love with it the first time i heard it. I am a musician and the lead solo in this really moves me. It has so much feeling in it. Makes my heart soar.

  • Miss you Buddy. Never got to experience you. I know you're looking down right now :) R.I.P. Brad. p.s. you look like jeff bridges

  • Man this is unbelievable. Takes you back when life and this country were as cool as the music (hopefully)! I was only ten when this came out, and it is as good or better sounding now. Too bad like all the greatest periods of music, it won't be appreciated fully again for another 200 years or so. Lady Blah Blah is king (Queen) now. God bless 1976!!

  • @williamped1---- yes totally, God Bless 1976

  • I don't think Boston really got the credit they deserved. They were immense to my mind.

  • Oh. He died on my birthday. Well.

  • Beautiful! What a shame, such an incredible voice and talent and such a lonely tortured soul! I wish he would've just asked for help and he would have been just overwhelmed with love from friends and fans! He obviously did not realize what he meant to his fans! God bless him!

  • that solo was more face melting than charlie sheen

  • If we can forgive him for taking his life, why cant GOD? Life is just that way. When you've had enough and just cant deal with it anymore, why not just go?

  • The acoustic part just before the solo at 2:24 is so beautiful!

  • Brad Delp, a true American Rock Singer is still the best and should be remembered for his amazing voice and music by all us fans, we were all lucky to have had him live in our lifetime. RIP 2011,,, csny1969 fan for live

  • <3 BOSTON <3

  • BOSTON was a band that suffered from 2 fatal flaws.1) They were tech nerds, and NOT rock lifestyle people. 2) The first album was such an overwhelming success that trying to reach/maintain that level was basically impossible. Add into that,Tom and Brad being totally introverts...well. Critically they are legends, and this album actually rivals Dark Side of the Moon in total volume sales. Its even almost as popular today as it was in 1978.THATS MUSIC!

  • @kevingthompson13 Everything you mention is obvious except where tech nerd = flaw :-S

  • @66bburgess WHAT I was expressing was how they werent able to communicate with people so well because they were introverts. Since Drads death, Micheal Sweet of Stryper started working with Tom and when I saw them live 2 years ago, it sure had made a diiference. Tom was actually MC'ing the concert!

  • @kevingthompson13 - Some of the best bands that ever made it - just pursue

making great music. They prefer not to live the "rock lifestyle" (since that usually

kills at least one of the members - and then it's never the same again). They

have what's called common sense about drugs (and self-respect). If Boston,

(and Rush as another example) are a band of "tech nerds" - great.

These bands can make more music for everyone to enjoy - instead of being

    stuck in rehab or worse...

  • @MrBlueSkyMrNight Thats one thing that totally shocked me when I started meeting these new metal bands. Nightwish, Edenbridge, Within Temptation, Vanden Plas, etc.....none of them were into the rock lifestyle. They had families, and were educated in music.I would rate Edenbridge as every bit as good as Pink Floyd (listen to Arcana), and they arent going to die from OD. I grew up with the 70s/80s stuff and love it, but I saw it take its toll on these guys. The new stuff may fare better much there.

  • 1976 there was no better band on the planet. They only had 10 songs, but each one was a knock out! It didn't take me long to wear out the grooves on that LP.

  • @martel732 Correction, they only had 8 songs.

  • @martel732

    same here, my first LP

  • rest in peace Brad Delp, you will be forever missed.life sure can be cruel at times.

  • Brad Delp said that he wanted the harmonies for this track to sound like Orpheus, his favorite music group (second only to the Beatles).

  • One of the best all time guitar solos.

  • I just realized that Brad Delp and Jeff Bridges kinda look alike... anyone else think so, look at Bridges in Crazy Heart...lol

  • one of the purest guitar duos of all time. Every time I hear this song I still get that rush from it.

  • 3 people look like hobos so they couldn't hitch a ride

  • Remember when people that called themselves "musicians" could actually play instruments and had to use their very own real voice? These guys were kings at this stuff. One of the most amazing albums ever. Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon and this one. What else ya need ?

  • I think it’s nice and all that you are paying tribute to Brad for all his musical accolades and everything. But the bottom line is; he was the father of two children who most certainly did not care that he was a has been rock-star. His selfishness for days gone by far outweighed the needs of his children; and that, in fact, is truly the tragic aspect of this story.

  • Im proud to say i saw them play this song in concert before he passed.. R.I.P.

  • BOSTON might as well hang it up without BRAD

  • @aaronracine

Have you seen Boston lately? They pretty much have... its a shame. I feel sorry for Tom, hes all thats left of this stellar band.

  • I miss you Brad! We shared moments at the Gorge in George here in Washington state and I'll never forget that. The voice is now silent but the impact lives on. You touched us all my man... and when (if) I get to heaven and hitch that final ride I'm expecting a song brother!!!! Keep the campfires of heaven going and tune the guitar.... I'll be there shortly.

    Rolland B. Heiss

  • Did Brad kill himself or not? We should not make judgement on what we do not know for sure. What we do know, however, is that the music is fucking awesome-I think we can agree on that. Rest in Peace Brad Delp. Oh yeah, who the fuck is Justin Beiber?

  • This song is perfect to start the day

  • One of my all time favorite guitar solos at the end of this song.

  • Also speaking of 8-tracks this song was on the end of track 3 and cont on track 4, hated that becuase it interrupted the solo. i remember i was so pissed when i heard that. nice video thank u for posting. and yes i was and still am a big boston fan and sadly brad did take his on life but his music lives on, again i was so lucky that i went to that concert on oct 31 1978. r.i.p brad.......

  • @middletownd9 you know...everybody has an opinion of if he did or did not take his life...you fucks can speculate unti' you know what turns blue...but you ain't gonna get any relief...just enjoy the music and let that stand for what it's worth....screw the rest...

  • @pistolp01 dude get a grip will you, and yes he did momo, but ur right on 1 thing i will always enjoy his music.its guys like you who know it all. dont even respond your not worth my time jerk-off.

  • oct 31 1978, kiss, boston, alice cooper andted nugent, (spectrum phila pa) what a great day that was and even greater concert. boston stole the show, was right up front and brad was throwing candy out to us. IT WAS A GREAT SHOW....

  • Very well done. Thanks

  • R.I.P.Brad Delp. from hitch a ride to peace of mind it sounds like

he faced demons. His legacy will never be tarnished he was a

great music entertainer that belongs in the hall of fame.Boston

will always be one of the great bands for me

  • Someone told me he was in pretty deep with the Mob.Some gambling thing. To me that is bullshit not sure though

  • HE HITCHED A RIDE TO HEAVEN...RIP BRAD...

  • @mrbuster1964

Man I same as you find that to be deep smell of BS

Have a friend who was His friend for many yrs, I'll see if i can get his in put..

  • BOSTON- "HITCHIN' A RIDE"

  • Comment removed

  • A wonderful tribute for a tragic loss; thank you.

  • SO SAD, BUT WE STILL HAVE HIS MUSIC.

  • Brad Delp's singing sounds a little like Paul McCartney now that I think about it.

  • @75tm400 Paul McCartney is probably the greatest song writer of the 20th century, but when it comes to vocals he's no Brad Delp!

  • he left a note written in a foreign language(not sure which)...it translated to " i am a lonely soul". i think he was just one of those people who was lonely and no amount of fame or adoring fans could change that within himself. i also heard that he and his daughter had an estranged relationship and that it bothered him as well. family is really all any of us have. he no longer enjoyed life and was ready to check out. sad but understandable.

  • No matter what the story behind his death was--may he rest in peace.

  • One of the best rock bands in history!

  • a masterpiece in so many ways, rod. thank you so much for this. truly a rock n roll icon

  • I always loved the guitar solo in this one. One of the best ive heard.

  • "Brad, your memory and your music will always be written in our hearts...R.I.P!"

  • one of the greatest bands of all time, brad was an amazing singer and tom sholz is an absolute genius, never had the pleasure of seeing them live and that makes me sad

  • great guitars at 2;28 til 3;55 best guitar sound in the world..wow

  • the very solo guitar i ever heard..........god bless you boston

  • what a voice... no autotune crap like todays junk... just pure rock and roll. still have this 8 track.

  • We love you Brad

  • This is and was my favorite band in high school and didn't know till now that Brad died....wow such a loss...

  • Very nice Brad Delp tribute. I'll never forget all the good times I had growing up with Boston's music in which Brad Delp was a big part of. I remeber when I first heard this song back in the 70's. I used to play it a lot on the juke box in the bar room that my friends and I used to go to all the time. Good times back then.

  • A** Kick'n song! Thanks.

  • It just makes me cry that such a great human being and such a great voice had to end up like that...

  • This is the song, I want played at my funeral..not sad..just glorious!

  • R.I.P. Brad. we're still keeping your voice alive.

  • One of the best songs ever recorded, containing one of the best guitar solos ever written, by one of the best bands that has ever been put together with one of the greatest vocalists to ever walk the face of the earth. Every song means something to me. This was the first album I ever bought. RIP Brad. You are missed.

  • @Boogra You are absolutely right! Just love the voice and guitar harmonies this band so perfectly put together.

  • It's amazing how many hearts and lives these guys all have touched! I still and will always remain a huge fan!

BRAD, may you rest in peace in the best place of all!

  • A great video!!!...Love how you put all this together!!....Now Heaven gets to hear this!!

  • bello!!!!!!!!!!

  • Brad Delp will never die. as long as there are still kids out there (like me) who appreciate this music, it will live until we die. But by them some other lucky kid will realize how good this music is. And so the cycle repeats. I didn't live in this era. But it's living in me

  • Very cool little video tribute to Brad Delp.....

  • A great video tribute to a man who will be sorely missed.

  • Perhaps my favorite Boston Song.

  • Hey Rod - Glad to see you're still on the air with this - thanks Tom.

  • God, 3 years ago now. I remember hearing it on the radio. Rest in Peace Brad. I'm sorry for what you felt, that caused you to leave us. I hope to meet you in the next life.

  • very nicely done, thank you!!!

  • Ohh so smooth

  • Thanks for this.

  • Really nice tribute, thank you!

  • I one year, this song had 365 plays at my first Ipod !

  • Boston is my all time favorite band. Brad just and incredible voice. This band is why I became a drummer you will be missed

  • we luv you brad!!!!! RIP!

  • Such a great talent, such a great man, such a great loss. God bless you Brad.

  • i will miss him

  • RIP Brad, one of the best voices I ever heard,1978 Cow Palace San francisco. Epic concert,up there with Zappa-Jeff Beck and the Who...

  • I don't care what anyone says, as far as I'm concerned, it was just a freak accident. no way a guy like that commits suicide. carbon monoxide emissions from furnaces in home is more common than one might think. one of rock n rolls great voices

  • The emissions were not from his furnace, they were from 2 charcoal grills he lit in his bathroom with the door shut. He layed down and never woke up. He also left a note. He was obviously very depressed. One never knows when this type of illness will creep up on themselves.

  • @yendor61 Did it say what he might have been depressed over? did he have a history of depression? because i hear he was happy with the girl he was with and was to be maried in a few months.

  • @fishfan67 I did not hear why he may have been depressed but I did read many of the articles imediately following his death and they all said the same thing that I described in a comment above.

  • he committed suicide.

  • @wileypayote He left a suicide note dog...he was lonely he said

  • @wileypayote Weird Al's parents died the same way, you're right, carbon monoxide emmission poisoning in the home is pretty common as opposed to the many other acidental ways to go.

    RIP BRAD DELP!!!!

  • ?? He left a fucking note! Nobody (much less his family) gives a rats ass what you "think!" He took his life, FACT! STFU and go find something to do.

  • Great song and a great band.

    You are missed...R.I.P. Brad Delp.

  • great song to make out to in a car. ;o)

  • probably my favorite from this group.

  • Beautiful voice, great loss for music.

  • Wow-thank you!

  • Wow this takes me back.Best song from their entire library.Saw these guys on their first national tour with The Cars as an opening act at the old Spectrum in South Philly. What a great show that was.I was told years later that was one of the few dates they played "Hitch a Ride" on that tour.

  • I feel lucky.. I saw Boston OPEN for Black Sabbath in 1976 in Houston. Sabbath was great, but I think I was the only one there to see the opening act. Saw them 2 years later in Nacogdoches as the head liner. Awesome! They played everything EXCEPT Hitch a ride.

  • Everyone is ranting about being born around the turn of the 21st century, well I'm with ya, I wish I lived back when music was good. (Classic Rock)

  • Outwardly Brad had everything to live for. Sadly we'll never know why he chose to die.

  • Darn my horrible luck of not being born 20 years earlier. The music of my generation SUCKS. This is one of the greatest songs/guitar solos ever. I love you Brad.

  • Amen to that.... I think I was born in the wrong decade!

  • Wow I couldn't agree more!!

  • @WizXX I hella agree with you... I'm 25 years old and I think the 80's music was beyond amazing... Just by that comment? I had to add you as a friend lol.

  • very quietly, the best song on this album. Ending solo is genius and simply cannot hear it enough.

  • Why Brad, why? :(

    R.I.P.

  • Yeah, the commercial to the men who stare at goats has "More Than a Feeling" playing in the background. Track 1 - Boston.

  • i love the ending solo gets me every time

  • Me too! :[

  • love this song soo much

  • I swear if I see another tribute to this god I'm gunnu break out crying.

  • N SO U FUKN SHUD !

  • Calm down.

  • what an outstanding video to a great song! thanx for posting!

  • Dear Mr. Delp, Thank you for being such a strong influence in my life as a musician. You are truly a legend as a historic musician, song writer, and poet. Thank you again for the great voice and music you wrote. You are the true Boston. God Bless You Man. And for you little dweebs that want to protest my opinion.... Chinga tu puta madre!!!!!

  • I bought this on 8 track when it 1st came out. I was a lil guy then. Paid for it in pennies. Pissed my mom off at the checkout LOL!! But,, after all these years of listening to R&R and finding all kinds of guitar heros, I still find this solo one of the most melodic, played with feeling, solos there is. Its probably my favorite Boston tune.

  • @primolilla 42 years old. I too love Boston's music.

best solo ever. you caent find this anymore.are any of you musicians out there willing to step up and carry the torch?

  • @primolilla Well said! You are spot on about the solos in this song. I find them to be uplifting also.

  • @primolilla I had this 8 track too; this song was divided between 2 tracks, pissed me off royally! Had to go buy the album just so I could have it all together. Great guitar solo!!

  • Amen to your remarks about Brad, the best & brightest vocalist rock has ever had. He'll be missed forever. RIP, Brad & thanks for the memories of your awesome talents!

  • Well said.

  • Brad was one of a kind never to be seen again. I'm so glad he came around when he did with Boston. Never to be forgotten.

  • Jeff Bridges with long hair could be brads brother... he should do a film about him perhaps?!?!?!?!

  • Its funny that you say that. The Jeff Bridges is in the new movie The Men Who Stare At Goats.I believe that a song from Boston is in the soundtrack.

  • ur right devry07, the song is More Than A Feelin, havnt seen the film but its played in the trailer 4 it. fantastic band n ths song i beleev is ther finest moment

  • Great Songs Great Guitars in the most of the Boston Songs

  • as a 14 yr old, i wasn'y around when Boston first started but when i was 10, my aunt introduced me to Boston and theey instantly became my favorite band and to this day still are. i cried a river when Delp took his own life.....R I P Brad Delp.....Gone but never forgotton.

  • Love this song...just beautiful...you don't just listen to it...you FEEL it. Good work on the vid.

  • I was 12 years old when this album came out. Ever since then, one Boston song or another has been my favorite song of all time. In the early to mid 90's, "Hitch a Ride" became my #1 song and it's been that way ever since. Boston has always been my favorite band/artist of all time and Brad, my favorite singer. I don't see any of this ever changing.

  • hope you found some peace of mind Mr Delp. thanks for the rock.

  • great song!!!!

  • Love the cool chords behind the soloing at 3:20 thru 3:30

PS The verse of this song has a part that is melodically similar to "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" by the Beatles.

  • 3:05 Charlie Manson?

  • More like another famous guy with long hair and a beard.....

  • thank you

  • man im 14 now right about 2005 i got into boston like they were my favorite band for 2 years and then right about the begging of 2007 i started not listenin to em, and thats when there singer died. then bout a year to half a year ago i get back into them, and find out during the time i wasnt listening there fuckin singer died man sucks RIP brad

  • When I hear this song, I envision a video. I think of peacefully dying, and think of just peacefully flowing through space.

  • Thanks for droppin by.

    Peace~~~Rod

  • the bass in boston songs alsways sound so great

  • Sure does, the music from this band was way beyond it's time. Just awesome stuff. Thanks for droppin by.

    Peace~~~Rod

  • I've alway's loved the music I,ve heard it said it's very hard for some people to deal with life after what they feel the've reached a zenith they don't think they cannot go beyond.I wish Brad had found a means to deal with pain wether medical or otherwise.I have had my own garbage to deal with please deal with yours. If you still have things to do here then maybe heaven should wait :)

  • Thank you for droppin by Hammeron2M.

    Very well put...

    Peace to ya~~~Rod
