That photo of the LA skyline with the mountains in the background is very nice, but that is a view one can only see in a photograph. It is a photographic anomaly. To the naked eye the mountains look nowhere near that close to the city.

The skyline of Pittsburgh, Pa. is ok, but it is very small comparitively. The skyline of Atlanta, Ga. most certainly should be included as one of the 10 best.

The skyline criteria are interesting. I know it's all arbitrary, but height and cleanliness seem a bit odd. A town with more recent, plain glass structures ranks higher according to that.  I, personally, think it's the history & the mixture that are interesting, moreso than height. Old buildings might not be as clean, but they often include more design than newer ones. And backdrops for skylines help frame cities too - like mountains in Seattle, Vancouver BC, Salt Lake City, Denver, etc..
