  • will this stuff work on marker thats been there for quite some time?

  • hi percaine, yes it will. The issue is how long we are talking about. If its been on the guitar for years, the marker may have leached down and ruined part of the clearcoat. That portion can't be fixed with a polish, but the polish will still remove some or most of the marker. On more recent stuff it should all or almost all come off. Thanks.

  • Try that on a 86 Gibson SG Special with signatures tattooed into the Nitro Lacquer!!

  • Ha das da grandpas guitarszs

  • lol if think if you wait a bit longer to let it dry...

  • Hi, it doesn't matter if you wait, it still comes off. For purposes of keeping the video short, its quick. We've done this test with other manufacturer's polishes and ours beats them all on ease of taking off marker.

  • wat is this amazing substance

  • hi, check the website you saw in the video, everything you need is there. Thanks.

  • How does this respond tot he various types of clear coats? I am interested in a white 60's SG that has permanent marker on it...

  • I have a Varnish finish on my Taylor and i REALLY need help taking off permanent marker off it. If ANYONE could PLEASE reply and help me out with this, as soon as possible. Thanks

  • BULLSHIT Not guna accept this comment huh

  • Hi, its real & so are the videos...the polish comes in a dual stage blend in the Player's Kit. We will be doing live demonstrations at the NAMM show in January in front of many people and dealers in the music business, could not do that if the product didn't work. Thanks.

  • Does the guitar have to have gloss or can you use it on any guitar?

  • Yes it does have to be glossy...

  • thats my name :D

  • permanent marker got less permanent

  • Se på mine video. Du vil sikkert bli sjokkert

  • It removes the marker stain...so there is no need to hide it.

  • Hey guys i have a question? How can i repair a chip on an electric guitar with a black satin finish ?? please help me!!!!

  • A chip requires a refinish.

  • @GuitarScratchRemover. how much would that cost??

  • would this remove a paint marker from a guitar?

  • I have never heard of a paint marker, but if its like a magic marker then YES it should come off.

  • Paint markers contain MEK and Toluene usually, both VERY volatile solvents and will almost surely have attacked any finish, probably leaving a serious mark. Whether the paint or the resulting scar is worse is a subjective decision.

  • Would this stuff damage a nitro finish?

  • No, its safe as long as the nitro is high gloss & not the flat/matte variety. Thanks.

  • I have scratches on a Taylor acoustic guitar... but the guitar is just natural wood its not a gloss finish at all... would this product work at all....?

  • The guitar really should have a high gloss finish for this product...

  • Make a comparison with your product and a Dunlop 65 polish.

  • Hi, actually it would not. Permanent marker dries about 99% on contact or within a couple seconds. A normal guitar polish or cleaner would not remove the marker completely. We've done tests with marker that has been on the guitar for a long time. It takes slightly longer to remove with the polish but it still comes out completely.

  • hey thanks for the vid, but since the marker is wet wouldn't it just come off easily?

  • That's a good question. No, it won't all come off easily with other products but it will with ours. Even if the marker is fresh more comes out at first but it is extremely hard to get it all out with other polishing products. Once the marker dries we have found our GuitarScratchRemover polish is the only thing that gets it out.

  • in all truth dose this actually wipe the scratches away OR dose it remove a layer of paint and gloss?

  • Hi, you can see the website if you want a more detailed explanation, but it does not remove any paint nor harm the gloss surface at all. Its totally safe to use over & over if you need to. It works by smoothing out the scratch until its invisible to the naked eye, & does not leave a filler or anything behind...Thanks.

  • we it get rid of old permanent marker ink

  • Depends how old & if the marker damaged the finish permanently, but generally YES it will come out.

  • Thank you for your reply..., very compulsive viewing !!!!!

  • Would that still be effective if the permanent marker ink was applied a week..a month..a year (or more)ago ???

  • Great question. The answer is YES. You may have to work it a few times more than what you see in the video, but it will come off. We did a simulation of this with a hair dryer (don't try this at home) as well as older marker, & it will come off. The purpose of the marker demo is to show scratch removal properties since its sometimes hard to see scratches come out on video. The polish will remove marker & scratches. Thanks.
