hi percaine, yes it will. The issue is how long we are talking about. If its been on the guitar for years, the marker may have leached down and ruined part of the clearcoat. That portion can't be fixed with a polish, but the polish will still remove some or most of the marker. On more recent stuff it should all or almost all come off. Thanks.
Hi, it doesn't matter if you wait, it still comes off. For purposes of keeping the video short, its quick. We've done this test with other manufacturer's polishes and ours beats them all on ease of taking off marker.
I have a Varnish finish on my Taylor and i REALLY need help taking off permanent marker off it. If ANYONE could PLEASE reply and help me out with this, as soon as possible. Thanks
Hi, its real & so are the videos...the polish comes in a dual stage blend in the Player's Kit. We will be doing live demonstrations at the NAMM show in January in front of many people and dealers in the music business, could not do that if the product didn't work. Thanks.
Paint markers contain MEK and Toluene usually, both VERY volatile solvents and will almost surely have attacked any finish, probably leaving a serious mark. Whether the paint or the resulting scar is worse is a subjective decision.
I have scratches on a Taylor acoustic guitar... but the guitar is just natural wood its not a gloss finish at all... would this product work at all....?
Hi, actually it would not. Permanent marker dries about 99% on contact or within a couple seconds. A normal guitar polish or cleaner would not remove the marker completely. We've done tests with marker that has been on the guitar for a long time. It takes slightly longer to remove with the polish but it still comes out completely.
That's a good question. No, it won't all come off easily with other products but it will with ours. Even if the marker is fresh more comes out at first but it is extremely hard to get it all out with other polishing products. Once the marker dries we have found our GuitarScratchRemover polish is the only thing that gets it out.
Hi, you can see the website if you want a more detailed explanation, but it does not remove any paint nor harm the gloss surface at all. Its totally safe to use over & over if you need to. It works by smoothing out the scratch until its invisible to the naked eye, & does not leave a filler or anything behind...Thanks.
Great question. The answer is YES. You may have to work it a few times more than what you see in the video, but it will come off. We did a simulation of this with a hair dryer (don't try this at home) as well as older marker, & it will come off. The purpose of the marker demo is to show scratch removal properties since its sometimes hard to see scratches come out on video. The polish will remove marker & scratches. Thanks. Feel free to give this vid a rating...

Would this stuff damage a nitro finish?
d00derson 3 years ago
No, its safe as long as the nitro is high gloss & not the flat/matte variety. Thanks.

Make a comparison with your product and a Dunlop 65 polish.
