@magus2511 Generally it keeps all or most of your personal files and settings, although if something goes wrong during an OS installation, there's always that possibility you could lose your stuff.
@elgransr Overall I like SL, but Apple made a lot of promotional claims to faster wake times, but nothing on actual boot time which is why I timed this to find out. Thanks for watching!

@Yamcha67 so is that even legal or can apple even tell if you have it on a pc?! I want to get a mac but they are soo expensive I would like to get apples os but can they come back on you if you download it on your pc?! please tellll me! lol
Hey, I wouldn't worry about it, nobody can find out if your using OSX on your pc.. But if you want Snow Leopard to work perfectly try to get osx compatible hardware, you can learn more on the subject at insanelymac(.)com ...
@Yamcha67 Ok I saw that company pystar and saw they got in trouble with selling PCs with mac software but i thought hell if i can get a nice PC and use the mac software that would be awesome! I just don't want apple to sue me. I think they should allow more people that own PCs to use their software because its awesome! Thanks for getting back with me!
I thinks that might be because you did and upgrade rather than a clean installation from scratch, i heard that changes a lot, though it's hard to backup all of your files and such.
should I really trust a guy that says OS "ex"? should I? It's fucking OS TEN.

That is true!!
Leopard boot up faster than Snow Leopard. But in my opinion Snow works better in the go and shuts down pretty quickly.
@VYauTube agree?

i clean installed snow leopard. it took 41 seconds for leopard to boot and about 30 seconds for snow leopard.

Was it a fresh install of Leopard with no additional apps loaded on it when you timed it? Because that I'd love to see.
VYauTube 2 years ago
try to boot the second or third time after install snow leopard. this is the first time after install i think....

The system was booted twice before the SL timing to ensure there were no components left to update on startup.

sorry but that was an epic fail

Mine booted in 8 secs before install, and 12 seconds after install.

How old is the Mini? It might not have the right hardware to take advantage of SL performance features

'refined from start up to shutdown' < well if the start up isn't refined im kinda worried that we have no hope for the rest of it.
owell just bugs probably leopard was full of them when it came out.

Very interesting, I have been waiting for a video like this comparing the boot up times of 10.5.8 and 10.6. Thanks for posting your test.

Thanks for watching, wish I had timed the wake up and shut down times before the upgrade for comparison.
